“There is better for the rates”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012 via mobile

I am a seasoned traveller around Asia and this hotel I found very average, especially for the $70 I paid for the night. The reception staff were helpful, arranged for my pickup from my ubud to the hotel. The reception area very average, the rooms however from outside look quite nice, little temples almost and very ornate. The rooms however very dated and basic. Ancient fridge, ancient tv albeit lots of channels. Bed good size but had little black marks on the sheets. Bathroom something out of Hitchcock movie-bleak and old. And this was supposed to be a junior suite- nothing suite about it however!

Breakfast incl average. Was told only juice you get was orange, anything else was additional. Tea without milk and when asked for milk was given minimal. American breakfast ok but eggs cooked poorly. The restaurant staff very unhelpful and slow, rather watching MTV on the tv in bar. good selection of dive mags though!

Swimming pool average, decking areas average. This place has a good location however. Slowish wifi but present around restaurant and pool and rooms near pool. Scuba facilities adjacent. Cheaper rooms around $30 would be fair, for anything more you can get much better than this!

This hotel was a little disappointing. We have stayed in many budget hotels in Bali and they all have their good and bad points, however this hotel had very poor service which is what I found the most surprising. Right from the get go the reception we received on our arrival was cold and unfriendly and this continued from the man at the reception desk throughout our stay. On occasion I encountered a different person on the desk and they were a bit more helpful and friendly. The same experience was found in the Restaurant for breakfast i.e. poor service and the worst breakfast I've ever had. I've never ordered a boiled egg and received a barely warm raw egg in a cup before! The breakfasts barely improved, regardless of what I ordered and the service didn't improve either. The rooms were a good size & reasonably comfortable however couldn't exactly comment on how clean they were as the room is so dark I could barely see! The gardens and grounds were nice the timber & stone features in and around the rooms were lovely and this hotel was probably quite special in it's heyday but the place is generally in need of a good scrub and repair, The umbrellas around the pool are filthy and stained, there are broken pavers, even the sarongs on the statues of the Gods are dirty and ragged. On the positive side the hotel is conveniently located to the shops, restaurants and beach in Sanur. We hired motorbikes and as this area is not as hectic as Kuta/Legian this was a great way to get around. There is some excellent restaurants within walking distance and I highly recommend The Tropical for great food and excellent, friendly service. On our departure we had loads of luggage and the hotel did not offer a porter to assist us to carry everything out to the car. Right at the end a girl ambled up and picked up one thing to carry out. Even our Balinese driver commented on the hotels lack of service. Although we would return to Sanur it won't be at this hotel.

was there last month for 2 nights.. thank god!!! it was a nightmare!! dirty uncleaned hotel..poor value for money..
no lift!! no room service! no iron, hair dryer, no fridge nothing!
white bedsheets have turned into yellow.. so as the white towels..yak! AC was making noise..toilet flush wasnt working properly..
will never go back!
btw staffs were nice..
Location was ok in terms of closeness to the shops..
however dont be deceived by its google location which shows it to be only 200m away from the beach! it is about 200m from the beach however the beach there is full with rubbish and not a swimming beach..

Had no time to book smth in advance, so booked 5 night from the airport, because I knew that 3 years ago this hotel was under reconstruction/ renovation.
Summary:
Location: very good, beach-side (3 min walk), faces main street (crossroad) with lots of bars, restaurants, shops, laundries and so on. 15 min walk to Hardy's
Rooms: We've taken a bungalow next to the pool with very big terrace. Room is ok, big but rundown and furniture needs maintenance. Bathroom is quite dark and needs renovation. Internet is in the lobby and restaurant.
Hotel's territory: Very green and nice garden, pool is small but still good. Warning!Renovation of the bungalows is very disturbing. It's quite noisy during the day time.
Restaurant: even after we've mooved to anothe hotel we were stiil visiting their restaurant. The food is just great (IMHO)!
Staff: very helpful and friendly.
Summary: not bad, but there are better places in Sanur for same amount of money and without construction noises.

I spend quite nice weekend at Puri Gopa Hotel. Its quite cheap hotel with nice pool. Breakefast is quite poor for a long stay but for short trip its ok. In restaurant you can get absolutly great italian bruchetta! The pool is quite ok. Rooms are rather big with quite nice bathroom. The smell from the batrhroom was not so good but for a weekend not really a big problem. For that money its ok. When You go out from restaurant just 5 min walk and You are on the beatch :) Thats main advantage.
Aircondition was working well.

We stayed 3 nights in Puri Gopa in a deluxe room, nothing deluxe there, apparently the only thing extra to a standard room is a fridge. Room was big but dark, big bathroom, nothing fancy, the hotel has seen better days. Lobby area is discouraging. The garden/pool area is pretty. But, check before you go if the constraction work is still ongoing. It was utterly annoying to hear drilling and hammering from morning till evening. No way you can relax outside or inside your room with this horrible noice.

This is a great value. If you're looking for a quiet place in Bali, then Sanur Beach is it. This hotel is 100m from the beach. The price included a pretty good breakfast and we had a Balinese bungalow next to a lovely pool. Internet access is limited to the "lobby".
A great location to base your Bali excursions from. We stayed a week.

Room Tip: Our room was in front of the pool. You might want to ask for a garden room.
