Stayed at Mentari Hotel every year since 2004. The hotel has undergone many minor facelifts, one being the beautiful gardens. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food for all tastes, yet a little pricey. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. The hotel staff are very welcoming and professional. The hotel is situated near the beach and the local shops, however a fair walk to the main area of Sanur. There are so many places to stay in Bali, but this hotel ticks all our boxes.

The hotel is very well located (dont get shocked by the alley getting to the hotel). Rooms were clean and pool was great. The service also good and food allright. They also cater for group tours and give you good advice on where to go. Overall very happy with my stay at Mentari Sanur. Only thing is that it is a bit noisy with construction taking place nextdoor but this did not disturb us too much. Other criticism is the lack of tanning chairs along the pool - Get there early!!!

Boy, I wish I had found the Sri Phala (which is right before this hotel on other side of alley) before staying at this Mentari place with sub-par service and sub-par everything.

The rooms were okay but way overpriced for what we paid on Expedia. Almost sixty dollars a night for two beds, compared to me getting in at Sri Phala with a bargain for less than forty-five bucks! And that place is WAY better in my opinion.

The worst part is that the front desk forgot to give me an important message that was left for me regarding a time change for pick-up in the morning. Big points loss there. I just felt the staff was not that into it. The breakfast was just so-so as well. Wouldn't go back.

Avoid this hotel at all costs -- during our stay there, our room had bed bugs! I saw the critters (round, flat, brown, slightly smaller than an apple seed, stripes over the belly) crawling over the bed but at first, I had no idea what they were. I asked for a room change anyway but was told no other rooms were available. I should have left even though we'd checked in very late at night -- I was bitten at night and have had to boil and reboil all my clothes and luggage.
