I stayed here early Nov for 5 nights. The hotel is NOT located on the main street in Sanur where most of the hotels and shops in Sanur are located, but the hotel offers a free shuttle almost every hour, which takes you through the main street of Sanur, and stops at a large supermarket and also at the Paradise Plaza suites ( which has a pool with slides for the kids).
The hotel on the Highway/Bypass but surprisingly can't hear the street noise from the rooms. It's a 3 min walk to the beach, which has a boardwalk stretching almost the length of the beach ( about 7kms). Across the road is KFC and Dunkin Donuts for those who need a fast food hit.
Right next to the lobby is an area under construction, looks like it's going to be a huge auditorium, this hotel is popular for conferences, but it was all boarded up and not an inconvenience for guests.
I stayed in a room with twin beds- clean, comfortable, good a/c, bathroom has shower over bath. haridryer in the drawer in the room. Room has a safe and hangers in the closet. Nearly all rooms face the long winding pool. The hotel now has a green option - you can choose whether the sheets and towels are changed daily ( if you go green, you are in the running to win dinner for 2 in their cafe, nice incentive)
Pool is clean, plenty of lounges, only one part of the pool was not available for use as under maintenance and the pool attendant told me that. It's only 1.54 metres deep so good even for kids, though there is a shallow kids pool at one end.
The spa is overpriced though - suggest you try Cozy's in Kuta for upmarket treatment without the price tag.
Gym was great, all equipment working., a tv per treadmill ( I think they had 7 or 8?) so you can catch up on your news while working out, good weights area too. Locker area clean, toilets clean, towels clean!
We had a buffet provided by the restaurant for both lunch and dinner ( for the conference) and the food was excellent. Breakfast was in the restaurant, great variety of foods both Western and Indonesian, loved the caramel and vanilla coffee options.
Loved the Balinese architecture and landscaping throughout - you knew you were in Bali, not just another soulless name brand hotel that looks the same anywhere in the world. Top marks for that.

I stayed at this hotel with my partner for 12 nights. I think it's fair to say that some areas of the hotel are in clear need of a facelift, although it retains some beautiful features (the entrance hall is stunning and the swimming pool is not bad either). It seems like the owners have realised this, and they were working on a new breakfast room during our stay. All the club rooms on the ground floor have been renovated and are looking good. We stayed on the second floor, and altough the room was spacious and clean, it could definitely do with an update. Overall, we loved this hotel for the friendliness of its staff, its ideal location (absolutely perfect to go pretty much anywhere in Bali, very central), and their delicious fresh fruit juices every morning (the breakfast was perfectly adequate, with fresh eggs and omelettes made to order). In terms of value for money, this hotel is unbeatable, it costs us about 350 £ for 12 nights, bang on the peak of summer season. This left us plenty of money to explore the island and its delights. On another note, I would strongly suggest to use the services of a driver as soon as you arrive, and we were very lucky to find the ideal "travel companion" on day 1. His name is Agus, and he is based from the main supermarket in Sanur (Hardy's). He has been doing this for years, and knows all the good spots. More importantly, when it came to shopping, he always took us to the best places, usually off the beaten track and where you can find amazing bargains (Painting, wood carvings etc...). He helps you to negociate and doesn't get any commission from shops, as he values repeated business more. He played a major part in the success of our trip and it gives me great pleasure to recommend him to travellers going to Sanur. I hope you will enjoy Bali as much as we did !

The decor in the hotel room and the furniture in the lobby appear to be original to the hotel--I'd guess about 1970 which wasn't really a stellar year for interior design. The first floor rooms are have been renovated and signs around the hotel point out that room upgrades can be purchased. From the pictures, the upgraded rooms look nice. The main hotel structures are very attractive, and with a complete renovation the hotel might be very nice. Rooms all face a very long narrow pool that is surrounded by the four story hotel, so there is no view, which is just as well as the hotel is at the intersection of two fourlane streets. The beach is a 15 minute ride away, and the free hotel tram also stops at the Paradise Plaza Suites and a shopping center on the way to or from the hotel, making the trip about 30 minutes. The hotel tram is small and once about 7 people got left behind as the tram was full. At the beach the hotel has a stand with towels and chairs for hotel guests, which is nice. Internet access is available in the lobby for a fee, but the hotel computer is very slow and given to crashing. There is a Dunkin Donuts right across the street that has free internet. The area around the hotel is a bit dicey, especially at night, but if you are craving KFC Chicken, you're in luck, as it's right across the street! I'm not sure what something else in this price range would look like, though. Spa was fabulous but the music from the fitness center next door was deafening.

certainly not a 4 star hotel tho' our suite was very spacious and overlooked the pool. it was at the quiet end of the hotel. entrance and reception area very tired indeed and well overdue for some tlc. I would not stay here again. Food served in the hotel is a of a hit and miss affair some of it quite dreadful. The staff are charming and cheerful so one would feel quite churlish in complaining so we didn't. The Plaza club lounge is a delightful haven of rest compared to the rest of the hotel.
There is a shuttle service to sanur and the beach but it is by a tuk tuk vehicle, wooden seats rolled up canopy hot and sweaty - the hotel shares a beachside area with another hotel, we didn't use it but it looked grubby with lots of hawkers perstering you to buy or take massage.

Don't come here if you are used to 4 star hotels or better this is certainly not that.

Stayed 10 days at the Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel, with two teenagers fron Aug 18 till 23rd 2009. Good clean hotel in need of some renovation. Nice long pool, not designed for serious swimming/excercise though, but nice to relax. Hotel is not definitely 4 star in my opinion but a high 3 Star. Lovely spa. Two of the three restaurants were closed for renovation during our stay, this meant getting taxi everynight to go for dinner. Raised it with the management and Stuart the assistant manager sorted it out by not charging for b/fast as a goodwill.3 to 5 minutes walk to the beach but need at least 15 / 20 minutes if you want to walk to the beach used by this hotel at the southern end of the sanur beach. Metered taxi to Tamblingan road is around 15 to 18 rph. To get a metered taxi come out of the hotel turn left and left again and you will see blue metered taxis.Do not get the taxi guys coming upto you as you come out as they charge at least double. We got caught. Massimo,Gateway of India and Mezaanine restaurants on Tamblingam road are very good and reasonably prised. On average we paid £10 inc drinks and deserts.
