“Nice place for a relaxing vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

I stayed at the Mahagiri recently for 4 nights. The staff were very helpful and service was always prompt and efficient. I stayed at the one bedroom villa which had a pool and my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The bed was very comfortable, the space in the entire villa is more than we could imagine. The only sore point of our entire trip was the fact that our villa was too close to the adjoining neighbors who had dogs and chicken. The barking and crowing starts very early in the morning and served as a very early wake-up call.

I was a little sceptical when I booked this as it seemed a litle too good to be true, however when we got there, after my first meeting with the girls at reception the scepticism disappeared very quickly.

The place is great! The whole atmosphere is very peaceful yet you are in the midst of everything Sanur has to offer, and within a genuine stroll to the beach.

The villas are fantastic, extremely well laid out, great fittings and fixtures and very, very private. The pools are expertly looked after and the gardens are tended perfectly.

We chose to eat in the restaurant mostly and found that it was generally busy at breakfast but empty during the dinner service as most people probably wanted to take advantage of the unique (and fantastic) opportunity to eat in their own villas with the food delivered from the kitchens. A very nice touch. The food in general is very good, very tasty and good value for money.

I travel extensively yet it is almost impossible to pick fault with the place.

The staff appear to be very happy at work and keen to assist with anything. Their greetings when they bump into you in the grounds are always very genuine and nothing appears to be too much trouble. Everyone from the pool boys to the receptionists only have your best interests at heart which is refreshing to see in this day and age.

We loved the place and will be back the next time we visit Bali.

Positives;
1. The staff - Each and every one of them was genuinely very welcoming
2. The nice touch of having a free afternoon tea delivered to your villa
3. The privacy- each villa is very seperate and offers total privacy
4. The 'on demand' transport at reception to take you wherever you desire whenever you need it (or pick you up) for free
5. The ability to choose to eat in your villa or in the restaurant - an excellent touch
6. The quality of the food
7. The gardens
8. The Villas

Negatives
1. None.......

That being said, the staff can make or break a property no matter how nice it might be. I cant reiterate the importance of good customer service and the Mahagiri seem to have got it right. A special mention to the following staff members (sorry in advance if the spelling of the name is incorrect) but they surpassed my expectations every time I had cause to interact with them;
1. 'Rudy' at reception / driver - excellent knowledge and willingness to help, very personable
2. 'Indah' in the restaurant - exremely attentive and very capable, great service!
3. 'Indry' at reception - nothing is too much trouble, extremely professional
4 'Sommer' at the restaurant - an extremely pleasant and capable young bloke who wanted to interact genuinely with us, top customer service

I could go on, as all the staff were fantastic but I didnt learn all of their names. I realise this appears like a 'gushing' review, however I am simply calling it as I saw it. I travel a lot and can honestly state that this place ticks all the boxes, in fact I find it hard to believe that some people have managed to write a poor review?

I cant recommend it highly enough, great staff, great villas, great location, great place......!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road, take advantage and eat in the restaurant and interact with t...

The staff at the Mahigiri Villas genuinely want to help and ensure you have a great stay - nothing was a problem. We had a 3 bedroom villa and it was just gorgeous. Each bedroom had a bathroom with large bath and outdoor shower. Beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet and peaceful. Large living area and kitchen with basic cooking utensils for those who would want to bother cooking. Breakfast is nice - delivered to your villa or in the restaurant and continental or American were included. Dinner in the restaurant was good and we also did the Balinese banquet on Wed nights where they had Balinese dancers perform - even got my 10 year old son on stage! Location wise it is a drive to beach or main restaurants but they are more than happy to drop off and pick up which was a real bonus.

My wife and I arrived on Monday 15 July for 8 days,it's our second stay here having last been here for 5 nights in early June. On the 13th of July we got an e- mail saying they would pick us up from the airport on our arrival if we wished, unfortunately we had already booked and paid for transport. Perhaps in future they should give a little more notice.
At breakfast on Tuesday we ordered toasted brown bread with breakfast , we got the brown bread on the side but the breakfast meal was served on white bread...ok no big deal. We left the villa to visit friends and whilst out room service cleaned the room .On leaving they somehow left the bar fridge door wide open, so on our return 5 hours later everything in the fridge was warm..no cold beers just a warm pool of water which had mostly evaporated on the floor and a fridge full of warm drinks and melted chocolate.
We later ordered dinner for us both from room service, two starters were delivered but only one main course. We asked where was the other meal but were met with a blank stare. Twenty minutes later we were offered two ice cream desserts as a gesture of apology which we declined. The other meal didn't appear.
The villas are beautiful, the staff are so polite, the place is clean...but 5 star you must be kidding. Incidentally there is no fitness centre, on both visits we have found a letter in the room saying it is under renovation...don't think it's been built yet! We still have another week to go, will write another review at the end of our stay and hopefully things will improve although I doubt they will have built the gym.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nicely appointed with their own private pool.

Dear Guest,

We much appreciate your feedback to improve our service. It was lovely to meet you during breakfast to discuss what area we can improve and uplift the property.

I don't think we could rate this place high enough! We stayed at Mahagiri from 30 June - 5 July for our honeymoon and it was simply perfect. We had seen pictures and were so excited to see it in real life, and we certainly weren't disappointed. Upon arrival my Husband simply could not believe his eyes! It truly was paradise!

We cannot fault a single thing, the villa was outstanding, the food amazing, so much so that we often ate in our room - why bother going anywhere when you have everything a phone call away? The service was sensational - EVERY single staff member that we interacted from front office, housekeeping, spa, drivers to restaurant staff with were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, we felt like royalty!

HIGHLY recommend these amazing villas, and it's pretty safe to say we will likely be back again! Thank you Mahagiri Villas for the amazing time we had!

Room Tip: We had a 1 bedroom pool villa, I'm sure the others would be just as good if not better!

I chose these Villas after a lot of research and went by the trip advisor rating. So Very glad. We Went with our two teenage daughters and had a wonderful stay from 23rd June. The Villas are absolutely stunning with very beautiful and clean private pools. Loved the plants and trees around it. The rest of the villa is also spacious, clean and very beautiful. The art work highlighted every room. The bathrooms were really lovely and big with open to the sky showers. The showers are surrounded by tropical plants.
We stayed for 3 days and had delicious and huge breakfasts every morning. We tried all the available options and not even once had a bad experience. The staff in the restaurant were particularly polite and very nice and caring. Even the outdoors are green and neatly manicured.
A very few suggestions to the villas. Mainly, the pillows could definitely be smaller and softer. A few bright lights are needed especially near the mirrors. Maybe we are used to brighter nights at home. Few taps were loose.

But overall a fantastic experience, swimming in your private pool at midnight watching a full moon is a lovely memory to take back :-)

This was our first time in Bali and we were on our honeymoon, we stayed at the Mahagiri Villas for 4 nights. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and the shuttle was available to drop us off and pick us up at different restaurants in the Sanur area. On our last day at Mahagiri, they arranged (in lieu of the airport shuttle) to drop us off at the hotel we were staying at afterwards, which was in Ubud - about an hour away.

Also, the movie selection in the room was better than most of the other villas we have stayed in so far in Bali.

Would definitely stay at this hotel again if we were in Sanur.
