“The perfect place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

We were initially planning to stay at Mahagiri Villas for 3 nights, but extended to 5 because it is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed our one-bedroom villa with private pool, excellent service, fvery riendly and helpful personnel, generous breakfast, well functioning free WLAN - everything was perfect!
Anytime again!

Even though our flight arrived late the driver from the hotel was still there and the butler helped us get dinner after midnight. All the set menus for breakfast were delicious. The service was impecable and the room was immaculate. This hotel is located on the less touristy side of the island which is exactly what we were looking for. We were within walking distance of the beach and many restaurants and shops. As this was the best hotel ever we would definitely stay here again.

i loved my stay at the Mahagiri. The staff were exceptional and the one bedroom villa just gorgeous. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was good with only a short walk to the main street. Barking dogs were the only minor issue but I slept through it. Thanks Mahagiri

booked in for 2 days, but stayed another 2. Villas are superb and well maintained. Service was excellent, breakfast was also super, really good nasi & mie goreng made extra spicy to order. complementary transport to airport. beach is 7 minutes walk or they can drop you but we prefered to use the villa pool. main shopping area and restaurants are less then 5 minutes walk. Price is a fraction of the relais and chateaux hotel around the corner and property is much better maintained and outfitted. Dinner menu is limited, but great restaurants close by.

My partner and I stayed here for six nights and quite simply put, this is the best service I have ever experienced. We have stayed at the Versace, gold coast and Mahagiri by far beat any service we have experienced there. Every time we left the villa (sometimes just an hour) we came back to fresh towels, a turned down bed and a tidied room. We were greeted with warm hello's by every staff member we passed and had friendly conversations with genuine interest about our day trips. There are time slots to use the free shuttle service however we were offered the service outside of these times, each time we left for the beach and picked up at our request. Breakfast is served daily in your private villa free of charge and when I mentioned I'd like to go surfing to one of the staff he even arranged a board for me and personally dropped it to the hotel after his shift. Other people have mentioned mosquito's but we found them to be minimal and no bother when given an electric plugin to keep them at bay. There are many dogs in the area but none of them are aggressive and safe to walk by at any time. I can't stress how good our holiday was due to the perfect service at Mahagiri, and recommend anyone thinking of private villa accommodation to book here. Our expectations were well exceeded and You will not be disappointed!

We enjoyed our time in Sanur and I was really looking forward to the hotel. It was our last stop in Bali and I was already smitten with Ubud, so I figured it could only get better. Sanur probably isn't the place for me. I preferred the lush landscapes of Ubud, but it was nice that we could easily walk to the beach from our hotel and yet not be right on the beach with all of the tourists. Location is a big plus. The rooms are nice, but this somewhat new hotel is still going through growing pains. Our electricity went out on one night. A fuse blew. It was fixed around 11pm. The next day we had no hot water. Even though they came and fixed it, it never got past tepid, which isn't a huge deal, but when you are splashing out, it is something you expect. Their restaurant wasn't open for some reason, so we had to have our breakfast delivered to us each day. By the time my one cup of coffee reached me, it was cold. And it was just one little cup. I figured in Indonesia I'd at least get a small pot or something. So we didn't care for breakfast. It was also very noisy at night. The thatched roofs allow you to hear what goes on in all of the other villas.
All of the above resulted in us staying out of our room as much as possible which really isn't the point of staying in a place like this. It was a stark contrast from my Ubud lodging experience, which was not as expensive as Mahagiri. I would probably look at other options if I returned but we did enjoy the room, the amenities (great lemongrass soaps) and the proximity to the beach.

We stayed as a couple at Mahagiri for 8 days at the end of Feubuary 2012 in villa 102 which was a one bedroom villa on the road side . Our stay was fantastic , from the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly and we were really made to feel at home. We were blown away by the villa, from the bigger than expected pool, the outdoor shower ( though no hot water, but you did not need it ) and poolside covered area that included a double sun lounge fridge, coffee making facility and table and chairs.Inside had very comfortable kingsize bed, tv and huge bath that overlooked pool.Although the villas are a short walk to the main shopping area and about 10 mins from the beach the staff would always take you in the shuttle cars if required.
We would like to thank Suparsa for making our stay at Mahagiri one that we will never forget and to congratulate him on having such a wonderful team of staff who made our stay so enjoyable and so very hard to leave.
We will have no trouble in recomending Mahagiri to anyone and will definitely be comming back within 12 months
