“No longer there!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

This restaurant closed down. Now there is a japanese restaurant in the same location. Lotus Pond was a nice place with good authentic food.

“average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2011

as often happens to us in Sanur - we get caught in the rain - and i mean torrential soaking to the skin rain

we had walked down from Pondok Ayu - said do we need an umbrella - no it won't rain
anyway we took refuge here - as it was the first decent restaurant after the deluge started

only people in the restaurant - we initially choose a table next t the lotus pond , but had to move back as the breeze was driving the rain at us

menu was extensive, the service was good - and the food was good but no different to any one of many restaurants in bali.

My partner did wonder about the Babi Gulung - as I don't eat pork encouraged him to have it, he did and it was incredible.

“too expensive, poor quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2010

My wife and I had dinner at the Lotus pond, attracted by the seafood special that evening. The peak season had just ended (first week september) and there was only one other couple seated at another table, so the restaurant was empty. We were keen on having a go at their special, Lobster and Prawns, both significantly reduced in price.

The lobster served was 200g, I think I've had king prawns bigger than that! It's quite shocking they're allowed to catch and keep them so small.
The prawns were 3 in total, for a main course definately not enough!

As mentioned in the other review, the sfeer is nice, it's quite a large open restaurant with a high roof. Dining isn't expensive in general in Bali, but the Lotus group are quite a bit more expensive than other similar restaurants while the service, quality and quantity of their food is definately below other restaurant standards. Quite interesting is that while on our trip to Gili, we had lunch at a restaurant attached to a hotel and it took over an hour to get our food, 1 soup and 2 sandwiches. The cheese and tomato sandwich had so much cocktail sauce on it, it could have been any sandwich cause that's all you tasted.....this beach restaurant was the villa Almarik part of the Lotus group...

In conclusion, it's too expensive for what you get. We ate twice at a Lotus group restaurant, both times very disappointed.

“great restaurant in Sanur”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2009

beautiful setting walking over the lotus ponds from the street. The satff were very friendly and helpful, although they did look a bit shocked when my husband ordered another bottle of wine at 9.30. Restaurants close early in Sanur. Food was amazing and the bill was about £15 altogether
