This is my 4th visit to the Peneeda View. It's old and needs some general maintenance but we love it. It's perhaps a little more expensive than some hotels in the immediate vacinity. Our room was $US101 from an internet site. We have always found the staff courteous, friendly and helpful. It's a large property with 4 levels of accommodation, beautiful meandering paths and well maintained gardens. There are two restaurants, one on the main street and the other at the beach. Also, there are three clean pools, two at the front of the property and one near the beach. There's complimentary Wi-fi in the two restaurants and lobby area. We had Wi-fi from the beach restaurant in our room.
We again stayed in a sea side bungalow. These rooms are spacious and well laid out with a separate dressing room and large bathroom with complimentary soaps and shampoo's. There's a safe in the room. These rooms face onto the large lawn and pool area and beach front restaurant. I've also stayed in their Villas and found these to be a great room with your own private balcony and courtyard. When we arrived, the room was clean and tidy with fruit waiting in a bowl. We had a problem with the toilet not flushing properly initially, but this was solved quickly by the maintenance staff. The queen-size bed has a very firm mattress, but this suited us.
Their Lembongan Restaurant has absolute beach frontage. The included breakfasts are simple but well prepared and more than adequate with endless Balinese coffee - love it! Lunch and dinner menus are again simple and tasty. We usually eat only Balinese meals and these were delicious. We didn't try any 'western food'. Main meals were around $AU5 and with an entree and drink you'll get by for around $AU10 for your makan malam (dinner). Lunch is a little less. Whilst we were there, there was a Barong dance and dinner on the lawn near one of the three pools and restaurant. It was a great evenings entertainment.
We will certainly go back to this delightful hotel and have no hesitation in recommending to our friends.
The Villas and Sea Side Bungalows are well away from the main street. Villa's are more private a...
