“Aboslutely fabulous, and we will be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

We booked a family trip to Bali for January/Feb this year (2012). With all preliminary dealings/conversations done via the internet, I was already impressed! When we arrived the children squealed with delight & I tell you I was too. The villa was beautiful, the grounds were gorgeous. We were in great need of some family time & needed a home away from home & this was it, fabulously appointed, clean, modern, comfortable, it was heaven. Every morning we had a beautiful staff member come & attend our breakfasts which were absolutely fabulously delicious, a wonderful selection to suit all tastes, and more than enough, I in fact looked forward to the ladies that came every day, they were lovely to talk to. Any time we needed a staff member or assistance they were readily available & always always pleasant to deal with. The villa's were made up & cleaned every day, inside & out, there were so spacious & really I can't say enough good things because I loved it!

Having young children going out every night was a little hard & so we had take-aways delivered which was easy & there is a good selection of businesses offering that service.

While were were in heaven, the heavens decided to rain, and rain & rain, alas this put quite a damper on our holiday as it was difficult to get out of the villa due to flooding, which, escalated effecting an evacuation. This was handled with absolute professionalism, understanding & urgency while it was due to nature & no fault of the Zen Villa's, it was just one of those things. We were very grateful to the staff who were there to help us transfer to another hotel.

When we got to the other hotel, we missed the Zen Villa's & everything about them, staying were we did, did not compare at all.

As for the Sanur area, well having been to Bali before I loved staying in Sanur & much prefer this area over Kuta. We had to take a cab everywhere due to having small children and this was never a problem. It is a lovely area of Bali. The villas are in what I feel is a good location.

Thank you Zen Villa's & staff, we had a beautiful time with you & you know we are also planning to come back, not only to Bali, but to the Zen Villa's (not in rainy season though he he he!)

Thank you - David & Donna Parker & Family (Jan/Feb 2012)

A peaceful beautiful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Bali. We stayed there 5 days in Villa F, so clean and well maintained. The staff are so friendly and Adi so helpful. Breakfast can get a little hohum, with eggs on the menu every day but the pastries and fruit platters are wonderful. I will be staying there again. Thank you Zen Villas.

We recently stayed at Zen Villas in the Tranquility Villa, this was our second stay at Zen. As per our last visit everything was perfect. The villas are always very clean and oh so welcoming. There is nothing that you need for a perfect holiday that is not at Zen Villas, they have thought of everything.
We had some fantastic conversations with the staff, especially Sri and Adi. I wish I could remember all the staff names as they were all fantastic. One of the days my partner got "Bali Belly" so the house/ breakfast ladies went and got him some guava juice and then went and picked fresh guava leaves and made up a special concoction for him, you do not get this kind of personal service anywhere else. I also had a lovely conversation with Adi whilst waiting for a taxi, it was raining and there was a long wait so he waited with me the whole time and kept me amused so that I hardly noticed the long wait. It these small touches that set Zen apart from the rest. Fiona and Trish are also wonderful and their knowledge of the area is a great help.
I highly recommend Zen Villas and cannot wait for my next trip to Sanur and Zen.

Room Tip: Tranquility Villa H has a great lap pool with overflowing jacuzzi.

We stayed in a Tranquility villa at Zen Villas just before Christmas 2011, so it was rainy, rainy, rainy in Bali when we were there. The villa was very comfortable, well equipped kitchen and great pool. Daily breakfast was always nicely prepared and the villa and garden was well maintained. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, they had a babysitter organised every night with no problem. Although it is a 15 minute walk from the "main drag" and the beach it really wasn't that inconvenient for us. In all a very nice place to stay in Sanur.

Notes for others considering staying here:
- Breakfast is provided and you can get takeaway delivered to your villa otherwise you'll need to venture out. There is a supermarket in the main town centre.
- Ample clean drinking water is provided (no need to bring your own).
- You will need to walk for 15 - 20 minutes or take transport out to the beach or main shopping/dining areas.

We stayed in one of the Tranquillity Villas for a week, and found it a very relaxing, peaceful place. The staff were great, extremely helpful and unobtrusive. We wanted to arrange a driver for a day, and a scooter for two days hire, also massages, and this was all arranged with no fuss.

As negative points, the location is tucked down a small laneway. We loved the peace, but found the walk to the beach or main street a hassle. It's not a big issue, but one to be aware of. Saying that, it was very easy to organise a taxi and the are very cheap. However a quick trip to the beach or to ppick up something or grab a coffee is not really an option given the 15 minute walk to the main strip. Also, while breakfast is provided, it's not great, the boiled eggs were unedible most days ( way too runy despite requests for well cooked eggs) - I would suggest getting the staff to leave the breakfast ingredients and making your own breakfast.

However, the villa itself - beautiful and well equiped, and the outdoor shower was great.

Room Tip: If you can, get a Tranquillity villa. The pools are great.

This was our first stay at the Zen and it won't be our last! We stayed at the Zen in a Tranquility 2bdrm villa for 3 nights after 16 days travelling around Bali celebrating my husband's 50th. The Villa was amazing and surpassed our expectations!! It was like our home away from home and was extremely comfortable with all the modern conveniences as well as two stunning outdoor bathrooms (and two indoor bathrooms), an amazing private pool, spa and a wonderful bale perfect for reading and snoozing!

I also arranged through the Zen for an special in-villa surprise birthday dinner celebration. The meal was prepared and cooked by a well known chef who came with his team to our villa to do the final preparations, set the table, serve the meal and then wash up! It was amazing and by far the most delicious selection of Indonesian dishes we had during our Balinese holiday. He even made a delicious chocolate mud cake that my husband is still talking about! Many thanks to Mertana and his team! His service is highly recommended.

The Zen was the perfect place for us to end our Bali holiday and we did nothing but swim, snooze, relax and unwind (and eat)!

Many thanks to Trish, Fiona, Adi, Sri and the Zen staff for their great service and for helping to make our stay at the Zen relaxing and memorable.

If you are after little indulgence and somewhere to unwind and kick back then look no further! The Zen is amazing and highly recommended!

Room Tip: Tranquility 2bdrm Villas are stunning

Our 4th stay was in October 2011 - We stayed in the Harmony Villa (Lovina) with our daughter & her husband. What a fantastic time we had. Our wonderful stay started with Trish greeting us & also the rest of the wonderful staff Adi & Siri. The villa is fantastic 2 seperate bedrooms so you can go to bed without hearing any noise from the living/dining kitchen which is fully enclosed & airconditioned (Doors can be opened to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area). The kitchen is modern with a large fridge, great for ice & Beer & a wonderful area to sit & look out over the pool & garden. The Bedrooms have wonderful bedding & pillows, good airconditioning plus one bedroom has an outdoor bathroom whilst the other has a big bath. Linen, Bathroom & Pool Towels provided are of top quality. Breakfast was cooked in the Villa always on time by friendly staff, nothing was ever any trouble for any of the staff employed at the villa. Security staff are fantastic & taxi's ordered come very quickly, or one can take a sort walk (approx 10 minutes) to the main shopping area. Trish & Fiona were fantastic as always helping with Shopping locations, Dental appointments & of course the heads up on all the latest eating places. They even made bookings for us which is what Zen is all about - the little extra touches that go a long way when you are on holidays. Do not hesitate to book at these Villa's as you will have a fantastic time.
