“Nice hotel but needs some changes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We stayed in Grand Club room for a 2 weeks. The hotel gardens are a real paradise. The idea with trees on the beach instead of umbrellas is great. The hotel is good but there are some things they need to improve in order to deserve the 5 stars.

1. Every morning around 8:30am the guy who leaves the fruits and water knocked on the door. After few morning we realized that we have to hang "Privacy" on the door if we want to sleep to 9:30. The same happen between 6pm and 7pm. Again knocking and asking do we need the towels change. We need some privacy and there is a lot of time during the day to do that when we are not in the room

2. One night the repairing of the next building continued even after midnight and noise from a machine was all over the hotel. Fortunately I complained to reception and machine stopped but they continued 10 more minutes with hammer

3. The room was with a door to the next room. There was not any sound insulation, so the voices from the next room was like they speak in our room.

4. Breakfast for club room was in a amazing environment but the food was very basic and one and same for all 14 days

5. The ocean is just 70-80 deep and disappears with tide. If you like the water your only choice is the pool.

Room Tip: Avoid the room with a door to the next room. Noise go thru the door

I and my fiancee booked 2 days at Hyatt Hotel because my fiancee never stayed at Nusa Dua and neither do I.

The hotel is huge! At checked-in i asked them that the distance betweenthe room, lobby and restaurants are quite distanced.... they asked us if we would upgrade for an extra USD 90 to the executive room and clubhouse. We did because we want to stay near the "amneties".

After a long walk to our room the (executive) room is quite "small" if you compare the hotel compound... :-)

The clubhouse is "small" but cozy. The late afternoon drinks and breakfast is so-so...

But one of our disappointment was that when we want to go for the beach is that the beach was not for swim at that time. It was all covered by greens and probably algae.
we were quite disappointed because we booked for the leisure.

We canceled one day staying and book a different hotel for the next day staying.

My advice to the Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua is not try to sell an upgrade if the hotel is not "100%" in service (due to bad shape of their beach).

Room Tip: check for the beach quality before booking this hotel...

Service, service, service... That is the modo in this hotel... upon arrival we had one of the senior managers taking us directly to our suite, where we went through the check-in formalities, and from there was pure enjoyment. Hotel is not brand new but it is very well kept. You will see people every where attending to the beautiful gardens, the beach, the pools, etc. The service at the Grand Club was excelent, people are always there making sure you have everything you need.
The location of the hotel is very good, and you have most of the things you need close by.
Food is very good, but you might not be able to find local sea food balinese style. Suite had a great view of the ocean, small lagoon and the putting green.
The pool is great for the kids, they had a blast using the water slides.
The hotel has a kids club with tons of things for them to do. Beach was always clean and well attended.
Checkout was also done in a second, no problems at all.
My only suggestion would be to improve the sound proofing between connecting rooms.

We stay in the king room.. Didnt expect the room to be surprising huge... Even the hotel in total is a huge place to walk... The swimming pool comes with a slide and its a long swimming pool... I will say... And having the view of the sea from the swimming pool and the restaurant... Its amazing...

Just about 5min walking from the hotel... There's this shopping area (Bali Collection) there are restaurants, surfer shops, souveniers... You are able to get there....

Attractions like kintamani, kuta, denpasar, uluwatu, ubud they are estimated 1hr to 2hrs journey from the hotel...

It takes approximately 45minutes from the airport to the hotel... My strong advise is to get a driver to bring you around.. U can take a taxi.. If you going to the places near to your hotel... But as far as kintamani... Please get a driver... 4 hours journey in total... And i dont see any taxi driver around that area...

Overall i enjoy bali... As for the hotel... I didnt really have the time to enjoy myself or even dine in the restaurants... As most of the time i went out in the morning and come back to the hotel late in the evening...

We stayed 7 nights in a 141sqm suite(upgraded) overlooking the putting green, gardens and the ocean. The room was excellent in all respects, especially size. The bedroom had it's own door which was great for us with 2 small kids, the bathroom had no problem handling our family of 4 all at once, there were 3 tvs, 2 toilets and 3 AC units. We also appreciated having the dining table for 4. Some have complained about the size of the hotel, but the most you would walk from A to B is 5 minutes, and with the lovely gardens it's always a pleasant experience. The hotel offers several dining options wit the best being the Japanese restaurant. We had club access which meant breakfast in the outdoor club lounge, access to a private and very nice pool, evening drinks and canapés which became dinner for our 2 year old and free internet access. The main pool is possible the nicest pool we have ever had at a resort. The pool winds its way down the hill towards the ocean, offering lots of small areas to make your own. There are 2 water slides, several caves and rock formations, bridges, gardens etc. The pool menu is limited but the quality is excellent. If you want different or cheaper food then the Bali Collection is literally right outside, but really for the high cost in the hotel we felt we got an equally higher value/service, not to mention the comfort of not having to leave the hotel. We were met on arrival and taken straight to our room where the check-in process took 2 seconds - one signature. All contact with the front desk and other staff was pleasant and generally efficient. Late checkout to 4pm was not problem, we stayed mon-mon. A few suggestions, install a few baby changing table in the common bathrooms and get rid of the towel card system - which we appreciate wasn't enforced in any case. Also, could update IT system with view my bill via tv etc. The sounds insulation around the balcony doors is terrible so if someone decides to have a chat on the balcony, all the rooms around will here it. I suggest to have earplugs handy. We never used the spa but other guests said it was excellent. There are nicer places in Bali, but all things considered we would stay here again.

Room Tip: FI you usually request 'high floor', keep in mind that the hotel only has 4 levels and level...

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt because my husband had meetings there. It did not have the Balinese feeling of our hotel in Ubud, but was nonetheless a very fine hotel. All of the employees we came in contact with were very friendly and anxious to make our vacation wonderful. Our room was spacious, modern and spotless. The pools are very nice. The beach is clean and spectacular. We especially enjoyed it at low tide when you could walk way out towards the reef. It was fun to lie in the shallow crystal clear water and let the warm water wash over you. We also particularly enjoyed the Garden Cafe at breakfast and lunch as you look out over masses of water lilies. We saw a few exotic birds along the edges of the water as we ate. The entry and lobby which look towards the sea are incredibly beautiful. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped and you can walk for a long distance along the beach. If you turn to the left as you reach the beach and walk you'll come to a narrow spit that has water on both sides of the land and some parks and smaller hotels. It is very picturesque.

The hotel and service is very good. The location is and beach is perfect.
Eventhough they can extend breakfast hours :) and add some more types of cheese , there is only edam and . The hotel's japanese restaurant is rated one if the best but not outstanding.
The staff is very friendly and rooms are spacious.
I would like to come back.

P.S. thhe bali collection next to the hotel is good for supermarket shopping and sogo is convenient.
