We chose The Westin Resort Nusa Dua for a 5 night stay as a treat for a family as we had read some great reviews. We were not disappointed and are currently planning our next trip back to the westin after only being home for two nights!!! Once we arrived at check in, the kids were immediatley taken to their own little check in area where they were given a kids pack each and some colouring in. This gave my husband and I a chance to enjoy our welcome drink, cool towel and check in was made much easier with no distractions. Once we checked into our room we were a little disappointed as we were placed in a room right next to the work transformations.We knew this may happen but as our son was sick with fevers we wanted him to sleep during the day. The noise (even though minimal) would make it hard to do this so we notified staff of our concern. Once we made the staff aware of this, our room location was rectified immediately by the front reception as we were moved from a pool view room to a renovated Garden Deluxe room. It did not bother us that we had no pool view as the renovated rooms are lovely and we just needed a quieter area with our son. Once we settled in we relaxed aroud the pool, got a feel for the hotel and then joined the kids club staff on the beach for an afternoon of kite flying with the kids. Breakfast each morning is beautiful and the kids even have their own breakfast area manned by kids club staff if they wish to eat in there. They have a selection of their own cereals, sandwiches, fruit etc.. and a movie is normally on for them to watch. It is in full view from most of the breakfast tables, so you can also keep an eye on them if you wish. We dined in two of the restaurants and found the food to be exceptional, especially the Teppanyaki in the Hamabe restaurant. Our room was serviced daily and found the room cleaners to be exceptional. I could really rave about this resort forever BUT what makes this resort one of the best places we have stayed is purely due to the staff. The management should be proud of each and everyone of them. They loved the kids, were always smiling, were prompt and always went out of their way to help us with any need or querie we had. Dario the Manager was floating around the resort to have a chat to and we were always made to feel we could approach him anytime. I have worked in the hotel industry before and within the Westin hotel I can see the staff genuinely care about the guests and its not just a job. In saying that I always take a mental note of staff I feel deserve a mention. So to Suka (kids club), Dewi (kids Club), Dario (Management), Agus (Reception), Agus (service express), Ari (reception) Made (chef Teppanyaki) and to all the other wonderful staff who made our family holiday very special.
