“Excellent Hotel and Nice new rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Spend 4 nights from 10 April 2014. New premium room did not disappoint us. New and nicely furnished. As a SPG Gold member, Westin could have put us on the garden view side but we got the main road view.

The new wing also has another pool which is excellent and quiet - especially for couples unlike the main pool which are quite crowded and with kids running around there.

Hotel is also opposite Bali Convention - may be too crowded when convention is on but have not experience that.

Local and international fare can be found in the nearby place called Bali Collection. Shuttle bus service is provided by Westin but one could do a 10 mins walk - weather permitting - may be too hot in the afternoon. However if one wants to get to Seminyak, Kuta area, it is about 30 - 45 mins journey.

Beauty, quality and refined service are just a few words among many more that describe our experience in this immaculate hotel. Being a client over 20 years, I crave for the exquisite environment. The staff are warm, friendly and courteous making sure they pay attention to the most finest of details. This is my home away from home!! Thank you to our Westin family.

I booked this resort based on the great tripadvisor reviews, so I was expecting good things, but was still absolutely blown away by the luxurious rooms, the amazing location and the unbeatable service. We have visited Bali before and stayed in Kuta which was not nice at all, but we gave it a second chance, this time trying Nusa Dua - we're so glad we did as it is completely different. We feel so relaxed, the kids are having a blast and we couldn't be happier. Westin exceeds all our expectations, we will definitely be back.

Overall, this hotel is very good, and I would recommend it. It's in a very manicured, separate area from real Bali, but it's quite easy to get in and out of with the toll bridge, so it provides a nice respite from the hustle and bustle.

The room was great, very comfortable and quiet. The restaurants and beach were very good too. All the staff were nice, friendly and helpful!

How this hotel could improve, some small things:

Hot water wasn't always too hot, mostly ok, but sometimes just warm.
The restaurants seemed to never get our bill correct, but usually just wrong in small amounts,
Not having free wifi in he rooms seems a bit Neanderthal in this day and age, they should consider free wifi throughout. Would keep people hanging out in he lobby to a minimum as well!

Other than that, everything was superb! I would come back!

Stayed at the Westin for a week in early April. The resort is located on the beach in the heart of Nusa Dua, in a long strip of the other 4 to 5 star hotels. Had a basic Gardenview room that was perfectly acceptable. Was offered to upgrade to an Oceanview room at check-in that was a whopping extra $200 US per night!
The hotel gardens and grounds are meticulously well maintained.
The pool area is okay but is a little dated. It lacks the infinity pool overlooking the ocean that many of the newer establishments have. It has a private beach which is similarly very well maintained.
Breakfast buffet was included in our rate and this was generally very good. There was a separate guy cooking eggs, omelettes, pancakes and is Asian fare. There are not a lot of options in the immediate vicinity so if you can get a rate that includes breakfast I would recommend this. It is possible to order select dishes separately and two eggs were around seven dollars.
A couple of things stop this resort being great. It is a very family friendly resort, which may suit some people more than others.
Like many four and five star resorts, the prices for everything are ridiculous. Almost everything in the hotel costs 4 to 5 times what it does if you buy it from a local guy about a kilometre walk down the beach. A massage in the western spa is the best part of $85-$90, where as you can get it from a local person a few hundred metres down the beach at $15, in a scenic spot on the water. This started to become annoying.
On day one, I emptied the minibar onto the floor and filled it up with my own local purchases at a quarter of the price.
There were also a couple of issues with the service.
One of the hotel bars and restaurants is called Ikan. It directly fronts the beach and of an evening they lay out coloured beanbags and it's a very comfortable relaxing spot to lie on the sand and have a predinner cocktail. They have a happy hour between 5 and 7 PM making the drinks and tapas somewhat more affordable. We enjoyed an evening beverage here on most evenings but inexplicably on our last night, we sat on the beach and went to order the same drinks that we had on the previous seven nights and were told by a waiter that happy hour drinks did not apply to those consumed on the beach. This was despite having had them on the beach with other hotel guests for seven nights in succession! Despite our protestations to the waiter, another manager also said that happy hour did not extend to beachside drinks, even though we had photos of us c sharing the same happy hour drinks on almost every night previously! We finished up leaving and spending our money at a neighbouring resort.
The other problem we had was with the service desk when we went to book a bike eco tour, which are well established in Bali. In our research, it was clear which company was best but the service desk refused to assist us with the booking and kept trying to funnel us to an alternative tour, where not surprisingly the same program was triple the price. Clearly our preferred operator did not have a favourable commission deal with the hotel, because the girl on the service desk could not have been less interested in assisting us. It was only with some firm pressure and some graded assertiveness, that she finally assisted.
The final annoyance is the recurring problem of these four and five star resorts trying to ream you for in room Internet. Internet in the lobby was free and was satisfactory but the charges for Internet outside the lobby were ridiculous, Most of their competitors in neighbouring resorts had this included, as should the Westin.
Overall, it was a good stay in a somewhat dated resort but a few things stop it being a great resort

This was our second stay at the Westin Nusa Dua and as the title says it just gets better. We stayed in the new premier wing and yes it is a bit of a walk but honestly it wasn't any inconvenience and actually it was quite good to get a bit of exercise after all the extra food we ate at the buffet meals! The rooms are very spacious and its nice to have the chair to sit out on the balcony especially early in the morning before it gets to hot. The kids club has been renovated since our last visit and our two children had a great time joining in the activities and making friends. We were there during Nyepi so we had a day just staying around the pool and in the hotel. Being SPG members we took advantage of the childrens meals package which works out very good value for money. The best hotel in the Nusa Dua area for families.
