“Delicious foods and very nice service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

I stayed in Ayodya for 2 nights. Sadly I didn't got chance to explore and enjoy more of this hotel's facilities due to tight office schedule. From my "limited" experience, I mostly appreciate the restaurant and its service. The breakfast was really nice with lots of variety of food, and they got delicious fried banana :) I was also surprised with the extra service and compensation during the afternoon snack time. All staffs were polite, friendly and helpful. Garden pool is so serene and well-maintained. Unfortunately I cannot give 5 stars rating due to the room problem: the hot water tap didn't work. However, they might be able to fix the problem immediately if I report it to the room maintenance (again the busy schedule forced me to ignore it). The other facilities at room worked very well. Beach was quite far away walking from my room, and not sure about what's special about Ayodya private beach compared to other hotels.. Overall, this is an old but very nice place to stay for the tranquil seeker.

I had misgivings about staying at the Ayodya Palace but they proved wrong. We statyed for five nights earlier this month and very much enjoyed it. The public facilities (pool, beach, spa, gym, restaurants, etc.) and service were excellent. The room was spacious and spotless. The bed was very comfortable. I would recommend it. My only observation is that maintenace should be improved.

Room Tip: Stay at the Palace wing of the resort.

This resort was a very peaceful setting for a quick weekend get away from Singapore. Sadly for us the tranquility was ruined by a two day event blaring pop music and shouting from a temporary stage on the beach that was audible from every restful location in the resort. This was very frustrating to have to listen to for our whole trip, making it difficult to relax. Only other complaint is that we had a view of a building site from our balcony.
In general, the service was very good, the staff friendly, the resort was clean and inviting and the food and drink was good, especially the vast buffet selection at breakfast. I probably wouldn't stay again as I personally prefer smaller hotels closer to local amenities and don't appreciate not being warned about big events like the one that so drastically disturbed our stay.

Stayed in Bali for our anniversary for 5 nights. The entrance itself is was inspiring, and the quick check in set the tone for a relaxing holiday.

This resort was recommended by a friend and it lived up to its billing.

The size of the resort is huge. After reading up on tripadvisor I was circumspect about the amount of walking about that it would entail. It was not bad at all. Not too much of an exercise or an issue at all.

The landscaping of the resort is absolutely beautiful. The lobby is constructed in traditional Balinese style with beautiful statues scattered about the entire property, There is a lagoon at the center of the property with monitors and multiple species of birds and fishes for company. The grounds were immaculately maintained.

There are three pools in the property, We largely used the infinity pool by the beach and it is nice to say the least. The sunrise view is spectacular and would recommend getting a wakeup call to catch it atleast once on the trip.

The food at the resort, especially the breakfast was scrumptious. Would recommend, in particular, the Lagoon restaurant. The prices did not seem too expensive compared to other 5 Stars.

The attitude of the staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms looked slightly dated but did not take anything away from our experience.

Overall, I would like to come back and would recommend the same to friends and family.

This is a TOP 5* hotel, quiet, friendly, with big rooms, bid bed. The lagoon, the pool, the beach, the restaurants inside, well, everything is world class, we really apreciate everything. People are very friendly, modest, nice, and atentious with us.
Already recomended, to some friends, who went there, and got dazled by its beauty.
Would be back for sure.

Room Tip: low floors rooms, with lagoon view, near the breakfast place at the lagoon.

We were in Ayodya for two nights on the basis of tripadvisor recomendations.

It is a beach front resort built in the balinese style. The resort is huge and the rooms large and spacious but that made getting from the beach to the room an exercise.... lazy us.

We prefer a more modern kind of resort and walked down the beach to all the resorts for meals and a dekko .. but a special mention for the infinity pool and the beach of this hotel is due ... it was the cleanest and the best.

the services are average due to the aging staff but the pizza and mocktails were great and reasonably priced for a five star. A real put down is that they charge you for wifi when it is freely available in even small restaurants.

i would not visit the hotel again and would prefer a more recently made property.

Room Tip: something closer to the beach or pool facing

I have just returned from a one week stay at the Ayodya. The hotel's gardens/lagoons and pools are more beautiful than any other 5 star resort that I have stayed in. They are meticulously maintained. There are two pools at the resort - one large lagoon pool and an infinity pool overlooking the beach. Both were quiet throughout my time at the resort and there were always sunbeds available. We ate at Surfer's Corner, the poolside snack bar, each lunchtime. Food was very good and you could order from your sunbed! Breakfast was excellent with something to suit everyone. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant.

Now for the negatives. The biggest disappointment was the room. We stayed in a "deluxe" room. I asked for a high room with views of the lagoon which was exactly what I was given. The views over the lagoon were lovely. However, the room itself was old and tired and not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. I appreciate that you get what you pay for (I paid only £720 for a week's B&B) but I still expected better. It was clean but basic. The air-conditioning worked but was not great. The king size bed was two singles put together and the bed linen was not luxurious. The beach at the resort was large with plenty of sunbeds but was not maintained to the same standards as the hotel grounds and had quite a bit of litter on it. The hotel also disappointingly did not have free wifi which I was surprised at for a hotel in 2013. Nearby bars / restaurants did have free wifi which we used. I still had to pay the hotel 30,000 rupiah for 15 minutes' access to check into my flight on the last day though!

There is no entertainment in resort and most of the restaurants in the hotel were deserted in the evenings. There are however restaurants outside of the resort within walking distance and taxis are cheap. Be careful when asking for a taxi at the transport desk of the hotel as they will try to give you the hotel's private transport which was about double the price when I used it. Ask for a metered taxi. Many restaurants will pick you up and take you back for free though. I'd highly recommend a visit to Bumbu Bali in Tanjung Benoa (they pick you up and take you back) and Arwana restaurant (inside Laguna hotel on the beachfront).

In summary, I would recommend the hotel if you are not fussy about your room or can get a decent deal on one of their "grande" or "palace" rooms. I assume that these would have been of a better standard. The quiet pool and gardens made up for the disappointing room. I saw a couple of the more modern hotels in Nusa Dua during the week and I still preferred the style of the Ayodya.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lagoons or the pool. Upgrade your room to a "grande" or &qu...
