“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Seems like they were really inspired by the Ayodya city of Lord Rama. Huge resort, beautifully landscaped, personal beach and lots of activities to keep you engaged. Food was as per my taste (three stars for that). Nice staff. All in all - a comfortable stay. Thumbs up.

Room Tip: Visit spa's in nearby areas - lot cheaper - good therapists - free pick and drop

We visited in Nusa Dua in March 2013.
The majestic entrance is very impressive and grand. Checked in late and hungry. ordered a margarita & spaghetti in room without much of a expectation, both were surprisingly good. Breakfast has a good spread, so that you can start your day good. Kids are kept engaged in Ananda Camp with lots of different activities every day.
There is a thin line of difference between a "Vintage" & "Old", Ayodya rooms are now getting old and need immediate attention.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We recently stayed in the hotel, along with circa 30 friends for 8 days....to summarize, this is 5 Star Property (managed by Hilton earlier) and now provides 3 Star Service !!!

First the stuff we liked:
- Massive Property...beautifully constructed, 4 pools, lot of water bodies, restaurants etc.
- Front Desk and F&B Staff are prompt and supportive.
- Business Centre staff is outstanding...very helpful.
- Location, near the beach so you do get to spend quality time at the beach...though it is not a clean beach that you would witness in Thailand but quite decent.
- Children Activity Centre, Good team kept kids engaged.

Now the Moment of Truth:
- Old Property :: The hotel is crumbling from inside, the bed and the matresses are POOR quality, you can see corrosion both inside and outside the guest rooms.
- Airconditioning was nightmare...almost all our friends either froze due to cooling or were sweating due to absence of it.
- Housekeeping Staff and Guest Relations Staff:: Poor service attitude, especailly towards Families with Kids.
- Wi-Fi :: First hotel in Asia where there was no wi fi in the room !!!

Go there only if:
- You get good price...we negotiated on the price so it did not hurt that much.
- Attune your expectations that you are going to a massive 3 Star Property.
- If you want to spend majority of your time shopping, exploring Bali or being by the beach.

Room Tip: Try Tower 2, level 5. Sea Facing rooms give a panoramic view.

Our second stay at this resort with many years in between. One of the oldest and largest in the Nusa Dua area. Both times we stayed in Ayodya Palace in the same type room, Ocean View Suite. The second time we were upgraded. The suite is still exactly the same. Large with lounge, bedroom and bathroom. Black marble bathroom with elevated bathtub. Bedroom was large with plenty of storage and tv with dvd player. The lounge had a small sofa, dining table and desk with another tv. The balcony went from bedroom to lounge with a large daybed and table with chairs. Again, the staff was excellent. As part of our benefits we were entitled to club privileges. The food in the club at tea and cocktail times needs to be more protected from the bugs. Several times I could not eat the food. Room service was excellent and fast. They have great deals for families with children. The pool is large and in the centre of the resort and they have added an infinity pool. The resort could do with a facelift.

We had a chance to visit Bali during our Asia trip. Base on Tripadvisor's reviews, we decided to stay at the Ayodya as it has old Bali charm. We were not disappointed. As mentioned in previous reviews, the Ayodya is the oldest property in Nusa Dua. Although dated, it is still very, very well maintained.

We only had the breakfast buffet in the morning and the cafe during lunch. Food was fresh and good, nothing exceptional.

The spa was very inexpensive by resort standards. I have paid 2x to 3x more on other island resorts.

The Bali people were extremely friendly and the hotel services were excellent.

The Ayodya Resort is a decent hotel for Nusa Dua. This means that all resorts in this area are very large, impressive and so on and, in this sense, Ayodya is OK. What is not OK is the area and, especially the beach. The area is a completely commercial one and it has been built from scratch as a place for tourists. It is almost forbidden for locals to visit this area! The sea is usually not suitable for swimming and the daily tide reveals all garbage that has been previously thrown in the sea. As for the hotel itself, it's very good. The rooms are large, clean and they all either have a nice view to the sea or they are close to the pools. There are many restaurants to try and many pools to swim and relax. There isn't anything interesting close to the hotel apart from other hotels and a mall. All personnel are very helpful and polite. In general, it's a good choice and, moreover, a good value for money.

Room Tip: The "Palace" part of the hotel has better rooms and special service, for example they serv...

I stayed at the Ayodya for 3 nights with no great expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel grounds are expansive and very well maintained, the rooms are very nice and well equipped. The kids club is excellent with great staff and the 2 pool areas are lovely, one large pool in the middle of the hotel and one beachfront pool. Service poolisde was lacking but the hotel was at full capacity for Nyepi so i understood, however the next day i was the only person by the large pool area and couldnt get any poolside service. Overall the hotel is great for couples, families, solo and business travellers. Staff at the waterfall restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful. The spa was very unique and of a very high standard. I will definately return and recommend to others.
