“Lovely location and place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

My parents have owned a couple of 2-bedroom timeshare weeks in this resort for some years, and my sister and I stayed with them this year (me for the first time).

I was impressed with the size of the 2-bedroom apartment, its cleanliness and the 'Western' aspects such as the very Western bathrooms (one for each bedroom). We had a long balcony with our apartment, plenty big enough for the four of us to lounge about on.

The only complaint I have about the apartment was a slightly musty/mouldy smell on the fabric-covered sofas. This is likely a result of people sitting on them in wet bathers (!), and is probably not noted by the cleaning staff. We reported this.

We spent most of our time by the pool, which is gorgeous, clean, and shaded by frangipani trees. There was lots of shade around the pool (open huts and umbrellas), so there was no need for sunscreen if you were in the shade.

We ate one night in our six nights in one of the resort's restaurants -- the Jacaranda. The meals were lovely and the ambience was good, but my beef rendang was not quite spicy enough for me and I had to ask for extra chilli (no doubt they are catering to a Western palate). We also had the breakfast buffet every morning at the restaurant by the pool. The fresh fruit juices (e.g. mixed banana, papaya, and mango) are to die for and only cost AU$2 each.

As I didn't pay for this stay, I can't comment on the value, but my parents reckon their timeshare investment has been excellent value.

As an aside, a new resort is being built by the same group on the other side of the peninsula -- the Peninsula Bay Resort. It's not finished yet, but a block of 1-bed and 2-bed apartments are ready as are two of the eventual three pools. We took the free shuttle to the Bay and checked out the display apartments -- they are very nice, classy, stylish and the 2-bed apartment is HUGE. Well worth considering if you want something brand new.

When we walked up the steps to the lobby and saw the resort we were very impressed. Nice looking buildings on two sides of a Big lawn and garden area, a huge free form pool surrounded by frangipanis, and looking directly on to a wide sandy beach. Lots of watersport activity to watch but far enough away that the noise was not a problem. Our room was huge and beautifully furnished. Full kitchen, lounge with big TV, dining area, big seperate bedroom with kingside bed, nice endings, plenty of cupboards and another TV. Also a second bathroom/toilet. Three restaurants to choose from, all with good food and reasonable prices. Very happy and friendly staff. Plenty of shops and restaurants across the road. Bali without the hassles of Kuta. Now our favorite place to stay on Bali.

We've been members for 12 years owning one week but by using bonus weeks have stayed at least 2 weeks every year except for 2 years when we accessed trip advisor for wonderful holidays in Europe. Peninsula Beach is like a second home to us.The staff are like our family. We've seen young waitresses marry have children and been promoted. We have made dozens of friends with other members. Our apartment is spacious and very comfortable. The beach is lovely and we love the water sports provided by friendly locals. The restaurants are pretty good and sometimes great, being about half the price of similar 4 star hotels in Nusa Dua. Our apartment was renovated this year and we now have 42 inch screens in each room and new sofas. Some rooms were still being renovated when we stays in July, but as far as we could see this did not disturb any members. Over all we rate Peninsula as wonderful and can thoroughly recommend. Bear in mind it is a members only Resort so not easy to book. They are building a new resort on the sunset side of the peninsula . The apartments are enormous and truly fantastic, you could live there! Some of my friends have already traded up but we are staying put for a few years for the social side at the Beach.t The beach bar is great for drinks!

Room Tip: Try to book a two bedroom apartment great convenience and comfort

We spent a week staying in 1 BR and found the following:
1. swimming pool and the beach was excellent
2. massages (done twice) were ok
3. braided hair fantastic
4. restaurant very reasonable
5. transport (private car and taxi) readily available
6. reception very helpful
7. housekeeping wonderful
Small complains:
1. floor a bit dusty
2. no shampoo (only soap)

Room Tip: 1 BR is so big for 4 people and can even fit 6 people!!

This was our first time visiting Bali and we had an absolute fantastic holiday. The peninsula resort is a great place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
The staff were awesome and only to happy to help no matter what the issue was.The room was perfect, we had a studio with king size bed with a balcony on the third floor with a view of the gardens and ocean. The room was very clean and had everything we required. The room was made everyday with out fail. The pool and surrounding area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds in the sun or shade. The resurants were cheap and the food good, with beer at $2.10 a stubbie and $4.00 a cocktail you cant complain. The brekfast cost us $48 for the week each and it had a full range of western and Indonesian food. We changed money in the hotel and got a good rate with no hassle or need to count and recount the money.
The location is great also, you do not get hassled like you do in Kuta and everything is more laid back over here. You also are right on the beach Would definitely recomend this place.

We just had a week here with the kids, its been 2 years since we've stayed here.
Overall we were happy but I must agree with a few other people that its looking alittle tired. I do know that they are building a 2nd resort up the road so their attention may be focused over there.
The 3 restuarants on site are very good ( excellcent burgers), the pool is good, beer is cold and staff are good at their job.
If you want a holiday with the kids this place is still good.
Resturants out the front have gone up in price, still cheaper than the western world but alittle pricey compaired to kuta and Legian.

We have been members at PBR for 13 years and come to the resort every year.
The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.
The 3 restaurants on site are all good and provide good food.
However as this is a time share resort it does not provide free breakfast and the breakfast buffet has got a little expensive over the years.
The furniture in the room we stayed in was a litle worn and there were a few stains in the paint work. The shower in the master bedroom ensuite was very poor with terrible water pressure. The toilet also did not flush well and whilst we reported these issues they did not get retified during our 2 week stay. The resort seem a little tired and needs more maintenance and updating.
