“Hidden Jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

such a beautiful place! emerald water, white sand, and camels. you'll find only peace, so much different from Kuta beach. but there's too many building construction. it's almost everywhere and they broke it to built resorts, villas, hotels, etc :( so sad. It's my first time went to geger beach and quite hard to find the way to the beach.

“Mulia should be ashamed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

We have been going to this beach for 7 years...a then wonderful natural environment...sea weed farmers working daily....beautiful clean sand and waters...
The huge Mulia construction as ruined the sense of space you should feel at the beach it's massive ....concrete jungle...Bali is loosing is Bali feel for sure..with so may ultra modern building these days you could be anywhere in the world...I think that all new constructions should have some better guidelines to keep the Bali feel and traditional feel to the island as its slowly becoming
Non identifiable.

Beach are now cramped...shame shame shame....fee for parking

“Totally ruined by huge developments”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Exactly as someone says here, it USED to be a wonderful beach. Now the whole area is ruined and destroyed by the huge developments that took place a while ago. Those who have been here years ago and spent a wonderful time at Geger Beach would be deeply shocked if confronted with the current status of the beach.

“USED TO BE A Breathtaking Beach”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

If you're a public visitor, forget it. This beach is now completely ruined.

I specifically write this review, triggered by a list emailed by Tripadvisor saying that it is one of 10 breathtaking beaches. Do not be tricked. It is not, at least not in the present time.

It used to be a breathtaking beach, used to be, maybe 2-3 years ago. In my recent visit few months ago I could only stand it for 30 minutes. All the litters, the shabby umbrellas & beach chairs, and the construction: it's a Balinese beach ghetto.

Help yourself and book a trip to Bangka (Matras Beach for example) or Aceh (for example Lumpuuk Beach in Lhok Nga) to see breathtaking beach, minus the litter and construction. There are hundreds less-known beaches in Indonesia with more to offer than present-Geger.

Maybe if you visit it after the construction is over, the story will be tad different.

“nice beach...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

but huge condo development has it looking like a construction site. We had a nice lunch on the beach and service was very friendly. so worth a look for sure.
