Its just amazing, beautifule, great expirience, we where on our honeymoon and loved it. We where recived like VIP`s at the airport, they checked costums and innmigration for us and got our bags! once they had all clear the took us to a Mercedes SUV and then to the Hotel. we couldnt upgrade our room to a privet pool villa cause it was $600usd + a night, but our suite was unbelivable. They decored the room for our special ocation with roses on the hot tub, amazing!

i was spend my tea time with my 2 friends at gourmand deli, st.regis. The staffs were very amazing.. Especially the supervisor. Very nice staffs and exellent service. But after we finished, it was a rainy day and we need buggy service to go to the parking lot. We wait quite long for the buggy. There was 2 staffs at the lobby gate desk, but they did nothing and pretended that we were invisible. Well, we wait patiently until one staff, a man lil'bit bald, dark brown skin approached us and tell the buggy was ready. But he said to us when we were inside the buggy "hei girls, are you to lazy to take a walk to the parking lot? You know, i have so much work to do and my job not only transfer the guests to the parking area!! I am busy you know", well, we shocked! I mean, even if we are local guests, but we PAID for the food. WE SPENT LOT OF MONEY THERE! AND IT WAS RAINY DAY! And when my friend said Thanks for droped us, he SAID NOTHING!!!! Oh my god, i promise to my self it was the first and last time i spent my money there!! All the exellent sevice and staffs that we got at gourmand deli, completely erased by the staffs at buggy service.

Dear Jessica_rahman,

Greetings from The St. Regis Bali Resort.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and for taking the time to post a comment of your experience with us on TripAdvisor.com.

I was happy to learn that you had enjoyed our service at Gourmand Deli.

I however was most concerned to read about your comment in regards to one of our staff at the lobby desk and the lack of emotional intelligence from our staff to respond your needs. I would like to personally apologize for the inconvenience you experienced whilst visiting us. It certainly did not represent our brand values as we at St. Regis understand the importance of fulfilling our guest’s expectations. It concerns me greatly that you have departed our shores with such a negative impression. Please be rest assured that I have personally followed this up with the department concerned immediate action has been taken to ensure this will not happen again in the future.

Your valuable feedback has been highlighted for our improvements on product and service standard. Through constructive feedback of this nature we are able to isolate the finer details in customer and guest satisfaction in order for us to focus our attention to constantly striving to exceed guest expectations.

With this in mind again thank you for your feedback and I hope I will have the opportunity to welcome you back to our resort. Kindly contact me directly when you return to Bali and I will personally take care of your future arrangement to ensure your next experience with us is a most memorable one.

With best regards,

Great resort in Nusa Dua. Big property with lots of space and one of the best private beach in Bali. The lay out of the resort makes each villa quite secluded with lots of intimacy. The villas are very comfortable nothing's missing, just may be a better lighting switching system will be helpful, quite a tough thing to switch off everything before sleeping.
We tried two restaurants, the main in the Lobby were breakfast is served and the fine dining by the beach.
Breakfast is just phenomenal! Unique! Great Buffet with a large variety and some unique dishes, really on the best buffet breakfast ...
The fine dining is also really a great experience with elaborated dishes, great combinations and the setting on the terrace above the pool and facing the sea is just amazing!

We tried the spa with a balinese massage. Again a very nice experience and what was fun was after the massage you have to use the "aqua Jet" behind the lockers were you can have jacuzzi massage for each part of your body.

Great service throughout the stay from every department.
Overall one of the best luxury resort we stayed in. Perfect place for couples, not sure for families.

Room Tip: Make sure you book the VIP arrival at the airport! Really worth it!!!

This was hands down, the most comfortable room I have ever been in! We reserved a ground floor room in the hotel with a private garden and plunge pool. Our 'room' had a beautiful entry way, large living area, large bedroom, gorgeous bath with separate shower and bath, along with the private garden. This is a great hotel if you want to stay on the grounds and completely relax. This is NOT the place if you like nightlife and local color. The service and staff are amazing. The only negative is the price of food/drinks, but the hotel amenities are unparalleled.

We decided to spend New Year's in Bali this year and choose the St. Regis. Arrival was perfect, we were met by representatives co-ordinated by the hotel, taken through immigration swiftly and then on to our waiting car for a 30 min. ride to the hotel.
The garden view suite we had was on the 6th floor with a partial view to the sea from the terrace. It was spacious and well appointed with a curtained off large living room and adjacent bedroom, nice size walk-in closet and great bathroom. Our Butler showed us the amenities and pointed out, among other things the beach bag and 2 hats provided. One was for a man, the other for a woman. We were 2 guys and had made the reservation under both our names. A small detail but the hotel should have got this right and placed 2 hats for guys in the room when it was prepared - no ?? (One of the hats was later replaced after I pointed this out to the Butler)
He unpacked our bags and took 10 items for complimentary pressing.
We were off to the beach - well maintained with loungers and umbrellas. Beach was clean, water if not a little cluttered with seaweed but was by far the most decent of beaches we have seen in Bali. As we settled on our loungers, we were asked our room number and if we wanted to order anything. We were at the hotel for 7 days and visited the beach everyday. Here's the thing - we were asked for our room number everyday (so much for the memory of the staff, yes the hotel was running at capacity) , when we ordered lunch or drinks during the day we were asked for our room number again. We were left wondering why they did not record our room number on a lounger seating plan each morning when guests arrived so that guests were not asked for their room number every time an order was placed.
The other thing we noted at the beach was that water was not automatically offered to clients, we had to ask for a glass of water. At other properties we have stayed at, this was one of the first things that was brought to guests when they arrived at their loungers. We noticed that other guests had brought their water from their rooms. Out of the 7 days, cold towels were offered on 2 occasions and cut watermelon was offered on 3 -4 of the days. (Just a small observation - we just wondered why this was not the norm for the other days ???)
The swimming pool by the beach or lagoon was rather large but shallow. There was also another larger lagoon away from the beach on the inner part of the property but did not seem to be as directly serviced as the pool by the beach.
Breakfast was sumptuous, with a very wide array to choose from the buffet. The nice thing was that there was a menu from which to order the food and waiters walked around the restaurant with small offerings from their trays. It was a nice touch so guests did not have to get up and visit the buffet too often if they chose. The down side was that tables were not cleared so promptly, at times cutlery was not replaced.
We spent New Year's eve dinner at the fine dinning restaurant and it was a disapointment. We spent close to $900 on dinner and another $700 on wine and champagne. After we sat down we were brought 1 hat and 1 crown and some strands of gold trimmings. When I pointed out the use of the crown it was replaced by another hat. The first 3 courses arrived very quickly and then I asked for the subsequent courses to be timed at intervals of 10 - 15 minutes , but to our dismay the food was brought at intervals of 30 - 45 minutes. We noticed that the other 2 tables next to us were also not too happy at the intervals of service. The count down was by the beach with a firework display and DJ. The trimmings, decorations and fanfare to usher in the New Year seemed a little mild considering the amount we had paid for our dinner. There was no show or spectacle put on or any other visible decorations to usher in ths festive mood. We spent our New Year's at The Oriental in Bangkok in previous years and anybody who has done this knows the spectacle that is put on show by the hotel for much less than what we paid at St Regis.
We had dinner in Seminyak all the nights - a thing to note is that it took us between 2 - 3 hours each night due to the heavy traffic during this period to get to the restaurants. This is of course no fault of the hotel - we choose to do this so it is a point to note if you do want to spend most evenings in Seminyak do be prepared for the traffic.
On a final note, the last impression a guest has of a property is as important as the first impression one receives. It would be nice for the hotel to also have a representative at the airport upon departure to usher guests from the drop off to the check in desk, especially since the airport is currently undergoing renovations and is quite chaotic.

We picked the St Regis for 2 reasons - good experiences with other St Regis hotels, and its location (great beach & not Kuta).

the VIP arrival experience made for a quick & easy walk through customs etc and we were out of the airport fairly quickly and on the road to the St Regis. The hotel is located in Nusa Dua, approx. 30 mins from the airport. After arriving we had a quick checkin and were shown through the resort & to our rooms - a Garden View Suite.

Garden View Suite: The room was fairly large - sitting area & bedroom divided by a sheer curtain that extended about half way across room. There is also a balcony with deck chairs and a lounge that overlook the golf course. Room had wooden floors & a large walk-in robe. Fruit in the room plus about 2 litres of water per person (complimentary) was refreshed daily. The room also had 2 wide brim hats & beach bags - we purchased a bag to take it home, but was confiscated at quarantine. TV had about 50 channels across a number of languages.
Shower had a choice of rainshower or standard (movable) shower head. A huge 2-person bathtub with bath salts & all amenities provided (shampoo, conditioner etc). For some reason the room did not have body lotion, but was brought up fairly quickly when requested.

The quality of finishings in the hotel room are not great - similar to what I've experienced elsewhere in Indonesia, but not OK for a 5 star eg. our room had 2 floor panels that had swollen, the door to the bathroom was sticky, remote for the BOSE sound system didn't have batteries.

The hotel guests were predominantly Russian, with many families with young children. We are child-less, but never really heard the children except at breakfast. Being there over new year meant the hotel was quite full, however we only felt this at breakfast time. The hotel did charge for a half-rate for checkout at 7pm & we needed to change rooms. One huge plus is that when a doctor was requested, they arrived within about 15 mins with a nurse and a case full of medication. She was very attentive & would recommend if you need a doctor, not to hesitate with asking reception to organise.

Resort facilities:
Water: The lagoon pool is great - long enough to swim laps but shallow enough to just relax in. A great pool bar si between the pool and the lounge chairs and th ebeach. The beach is great to swim at with limited waves - just keep in mind the current can be quite strong during the changing of the tides. The beach & pool are not patrolled, so beware of the beach if you are not a strong swimmer. There is not much snorkelling close to the resort, so we took a boat trip (USD70 for 2) further down. The snorkelling was OK (this is not the Maldives), however there were many jelly fish in the water - all harmless but it freaked us out none the less and we cut our trip short.

Restaurants:
The breakfast buffet (included in room price) is quite good, with a wide variety of eggs, indonesian, other asian, fruit, pastries & continental meats. Fresh juices are on order - star fruit was my favourite. We ate dinner at the buffet one night - the advantage of it was that the 'mains' were made to order. You could also chose to have just hte entree buffet or just the dessert buffet if you were not too hungry (pricing a lot cheaper than paying USD80 for the full buffet).

The deli was great place to snack during the day, with many light menu options + icecream, desserts etc. Food at the pool bar was also quite good - pizzas, pita bread, etc - everything we tried was of really good quality. The King Cole Bar had a singer who belted out some great bar music while we had a few drinks.

New Years Eve was a bit of a mixed bag. We picked the dinner at the 'high end' restaurant, however it was a bit farcical. The meal was a degustation, with the first 3 courses were served in about 30 mins, then we had a one hour wait till the next course. Service was very patchy and it was not the 'fine dining' we were expecting. The hotel had set up a DJ and bar on teh beach & most hotel guests danced the new year in together.

Spa: The spa was quite nice. We had a massage in a nearby shopping centre, but it was nothing on the fantastic massages we had at the Remede spa. the facial was also great quality & we had no problems booking into same-day appointments despite the hotel being full. I was feeling unwell, but the massage with reflexology & acupressure was the perfect cure.

Trips out: We headed to the local shopping centre - about 15 mins walk, but get a taxi unless you want to walk on the street (no footpaths). The shopping centre was OK, but was disappointed by many shops selling fake clothing - so unless fakes are your thing, I would stay away. I only purchased some silver jewellery and couldnt really see any other souveniers that you'd take home.

We had dinner at the W (seminyak - approx 1.5 hours in traffic) one night. The W seemed to be the place to go if you want to be seen, however note that you wont be able to swim at the beach if you stay there. Dinner was quite good. We also tried the 'best japanese in Bali' at the Intercontinental - 7 days later my husband is still in recovery from the sub-standard food provided there.

Overall
I'd recommend the St Regis as a place to relax and hang by the beach - it feels like any other 5 star resort anywhere in the world but is only 6 hours from Sydney. Enjoy.

hands down, .the best resort i've ever stayed. the entire place was like heaven, so peaceful and calm. they really cater to you. from checking in, breakfast, dinner, room, to the beach front, everything is amazing. we were there in june 2011 which was probably low season, and staff to guest ratio felt like 10:1. everyone was wonderful and helpful...and lobster omelet and foie gras for breakfast??? who would say no to that!
