“Haven't even gotten there yet, and I'm already disappointed!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2009

We booked a week at the Bali Dynasty and 3 days before we were set to arrive, they sent us an email to notify us that they quoted us the wrong price and the correct price is 25% MORE!!! not including breakfast, of course. Honestly, that has to be the most ridiculous service I have ever heard of. The least they could have said in the email was something to the effect of "we're very sorry, and to make it up to you, we'd like to offer you complimentary breakfast" but nope!! we got nothing of the sort. I'm now reading online all the awful reviews of this place and I'm desperately trying to find somewhere else to stay!!!

We stayed at Dynasty for one week in a three week trip to Bali and was our least favourite resort. We were recommended this hotel by friends who had been going there for years with their children. However we have stayed at a few different resorts in Bali over the last 5 years and this resort is not what we think a Bali holidays is all about.

The resort is very big and FULL of families so there are alot of kids. The pool area always has some kind of 'entertainment' going on around it, which means a man on loud speaker calling out bingo numbers or hosting the biggest splash competitions, its So loud. Kids area is not that great, our 7 year old found no activiites that appealed to her. We let her and our 12 year son do the pizza making one day for lunch and we went over and had a look. There were a number of staff there with the kids but no one had control of the lively kids and food fight was happening, in the restarant. Our kids sat on the end of the table and looked miserable. We coundlnt get out of there quick enough.
The majority of people staying there were there to drink up and live it up. It was almost embarrassing to be Australian to see some of the behaviour. So when we got our old favourite the Puri Rajo in Legian we felt like kissing the steps in the lobby, its so nice and quiet and relaxing but plenty of nice families to get to know around the pool etc.

I stayed in Bali Dynasty for 6 nights in July with my boyfriend. Hotel isin good location, very near Discovery Mall, but not near the main shoppingstreets. I booked a package for 7D6N with flight through agent, costing meonly USD720 per person, included the entire tax and fuel fee. The roomoriginally booked was a Superior room, I thought it was renovated but not, with no view at all (facing a wall....) and it was very old indeed, like a3-star hotel. I decided to upgrade to new Deluxe room in another wing withthe extra fee of USD 15 per night. It was worthy!!! I chose deluxe roomwith garden view (pool view needs to pay an extra USD 20 per night), but Igot a room in the end of corridor, with part of the view facing the gymcenter and the pool!!! What a big surprise and the room was clean, modernand really fit a 4-star hotel. Hotel has a lot of activities prepared for visitors, like water volleyballand village visit. It is really suitable for family and I can tell 80% ofthe visitors are families with young children. The buffet breakfast wasaverage only; the style is not for East Asian. Near the hotel there arelots of fine restaurants, and the price is quite OK. Overall, I am satisfied with my new room, if you are placed in the gardenwing, DO ASK for a change!!

I travelled to Bali for the first time with my husband and 11 year old daughter. From the moment we arrived at the Dynasty we were treated like royalty, the service was impeccable. We had a Deluxe pool view room which was immaculate, plenty of room and the balcony was fantastic. We ate at all the restaraunts which were lovely and especially enjoyed the theme night dinners. Our daughter loved the kids club, the staff were wonderful and took very good care of her. She loved all the competitions they had. The Dynasty is close to everything that Kuta has to offer and the lovely ladies in the tour booking office organised some great trips for us. We stayed at the Dynasty for 15 nights and loved every minute of it. We highly reccomend this hotel. We will definately be back!!

Stayed here for 5 days in a deluxe room in the renovated part of the hotel. We requested the renovated room through our travel agent before we left.
I travelled with my husband and 12 year old son. The children in the kids club were too young so my son didn't want to join. I didn't use all the special features such as gym, spa room, lazy pool and kids club so probably should have got a cheaper hotel without those things. Go to breakfast early as once it gets to about 8 oclock it is far less efficient and you may get placed outside the main room where the service is poor. There is no milk in the room just a powdered creamer, but the milk in the mini bar is cheap. Ensure you use the bottled water from the bathroom in the kettle because if you use the water in the mini bar you are charged for it. (you cannot drink the tap water)
We were charged for things in the mini bar we did not use but they were quickly deleted
once we questioned them. All in all the big things in the hotel were great but a few of the little things were not so good. The food in Gracie Kelly's was extemely average.
Overall a good hotel.

First impression was not good. It took a very long time until our rooms very ready. We only got one out of four rooms at check in time 15:00. The last room was not ready until around 18:00. One of the room we could only keep for one night, then we had to move. The extra bed required on one of the rooms, did not appear until after we had complained several times, the same for the extra set of towels etc.
We had booked the newly renovated rooms with pool view. The rooms were very nice, and had everything you needed. The noise from the pool was however so overwhelming, so sitting on the veranda reading a book was almost not possible.
Noise was the "general probem" at this hotel. The same applied for the breakfast room. Extremly noisy! On top of it, they always played relatively loud music. I also found the staff in the breakfast room rather unfriendly. Choices were OK.
The hotel is not actually on the beach, as it seems in bouchures and ads. You have to walk out of the property, and pass a bunch of rather active sellers, before you get to the hotels "Beach Club".
No facilities such as showers etc. on the beach, but a lot of people that offered massage, manicure, was selling activities and goods. Some of them, not always very friendly.

I would say that the best with this hotel was the rooms, and also the location. Worst, the noise!
I do not know if I would recommend this hotel to my friends. The only ones would be those with children between 5 and 12 that would love the pool and the activitites offered.

We stayed at the Dynasty for a week, before heading North, and then back for 2 days at the Hard Rock in Kuta. The Dynasty was by FAR better than hard rock. The people were friendlier, the rooms bigger and much nicer, the service was so much more efficient and the prices around the bar etc were much fairer. We loved it so much - we're organsing our return trip now. The kids loved the slide, and the pool was massive but not so big that you lost your children! It was further from the busy Paddys, but still walkable even with young children - but we preferred the markets closer by anyway. Won't ever go anywhere else - loved it!
