“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Staff were lovely, place was in a good location, very recommended. The Jaquzzi on the roof was a definite bonus. The food wasn't really up to much and the small restaurant wasn't very good. Only ate there once and ordered a pizza which turned out to be some melted cheese on a wrap

stayed here 3 nights late september.

this place is very convenient and cheap.

i arrived 9am from jakarta and fortunately for me, the hotel wasn't fully booked and they allowed me to my room this early so its off to a great start. the room is a OK but the bathrooms are quite small. its decently decorated but just really small. rooms have a 21" maybe flat screen tv.

buffet breakfast is good for the price that your paying for.

hotel has a great location. 7-10 mins walk to legian beach great restaurants just outside, shopping a stone throw away. authorized money changer just a few steps outside. beware of the ones that give higher rates. almost got swindled there. anyway,

overall, jocs is a nice base for budget travel, you're not in bali to spend the day in your room anyway. if thats your plan, head off to lombok.

We arrived late at night at Jocs to be greeted with a cold drink and a friendly welcoming smile. Our room was small but we don't spend much time there anyway so it's no big deal. We paid $45.00 Aus per night (for 3 of us) which included a great buffet breakfast, (keeping in mind we were in a budget hotel). We were 2 adults with our 11 year old son who shared our 2 large single beds pushed together. Room had a mini, bar flat screen TV, a safe, clean sheets and towels and a hair dryer. The pool is nice but cold because it's in the shade downstairs, but upstairs is a great rooftop spa and bar. It is right in the heart of things which our son loved but a bit busy for us older travellers. The staff were helpful friendly and accomodating. We stayed 4 nights and booking was through Agoda.

When we arrived at 2.45pm we were kept waiting for 45 minutes to check in. The room was VERY small, not as described on the site, the sheets had blood, and hair on them, the room was dirty, no view as the window was locked and frosted. The bathroom flooded when showering. The walls were so thin you could hear everything your neighbour was doing, all night!!. Breakfast was terrible. We lasted 2 nights, but paid for 7, no refund given. Staff seemed depressed, no wonder, it was a terrible place to be. We moved to the Magani, great hotel, wonderful staff.

Room Tip: None of them, they should knock it down!!

In this hotel everything is tiny, tiny lobby, tiny breakfast area, parking lot only fit for 2 cars, standard type rooms are also small (even the distance between the shower with its toilet is very near without any curtain, so the toilet will definitely be wet after we take shower).

Daily breakfast menu is always the same and the options are limited (I stayed 4D3N here), consist of fried rice, fried noodles, parsley tomatoes, fried sausages, bread; exactly the same with menu in hotels of Poppies Lane area.

Luckily all hotel staffs were very helpful and very nice to us, including the security officers who took after our car during our stay there.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms in the 1st floor, the rocky pathways to the rooms will drive us crazy

the location is quite good with lots of restaurants and massage parlour nearby. the hotel is located opposite the streets of markets and there is 24 hours convenient store nearby such mini m, circle k and more. the room is quite spacious and some of the bathroom does have bathtub. we were given with welcome drinks and their staff are friendly, helpful and got no problem speaking in english. just the breakfast was so-so cause lack of choices, but we were ok with that. will choose to stay here if coming back bali again.

The whole experience was BAD...Supposed to be 5 star???The bedroom is pokey and the bathroom is so pokey 2 people cant be in there together.... They only leave 1 roll of toilet paper -no matter how little is left on it. The bath mats are quite often folded inside out and put back dirty.
The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. The breakfast is ordinary (& cold)..The pool is freezing..The rooftop bar has little shade...so you either go out all day or spend it on your bed.
The SPA is still not complete and dates given vary from 1 month to next year. In May I was told August.
Would not stay again even for free.

Room Tip: Don't book with Asia rooms...they say you save 70%...our room was only $4 p/night cheaper not th...
