While on holiday for the first time in Bali my boyfriend and I decided to come to Yogi's Paradise Grill after seeing the reviews and photographs on tripadvisor.
We phoned in the morning to make a reservation and spoke to Niken. We made our booking and also put our order in for the seafood we wanted to order. This was required 24 hours in advance as they actually go out and source fresh seafood caught that day from the fish market. We were wanting to come in for dinner that night and were lucky that they kindly obliged to the request even though we hadn't given them 24 hours.
We arrived at Yogi's just after 6 PM and were the first customers. It was ironic as my boyfriend had joked a few days before that you would need to be brave people to be the first ones in to an empty restaurant, never the less this was actually a bonus as we were given the VIP treatment! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the famous Yogi who brought us around to see the fresh catch that he was to prepare for us. There were a dozen oysters, half a dozen king prawns, a crayfish, and 2 mud crabs. This made me nervous as I wasn't overly hungry at the time but that all changed when the platter of food came out! We had a 500gm crayfish cooked with Yogi's secret sauce, 2 chilli mud crabs that rivalled my own Mothers recipe, oysters kilpatrick, enormous butterflied king prawns accompanied with chips, salad and best of all the company of Yogi and his beautiful wife Niken! Yogi even made us some off the menu flaming specialty shots....don't know what was in them but they were good!
We were so lucky to have had the pleasure of their company and get to know them both as well as enjoy such incredibly awesome cuisine! Yogi's is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in the WORLD and will be back next trip to Bali, which I hope is really soon ^_^ !!
