We had dine at expensive and moderately expensive restaurants in Bali but this trip, we had decided to try a local eatery. This is not a balinese restaurant. It serves Indonesian and Chinese food from malang, a village or town in Indonesia.
It is well patronised by budget conscious local and western tourists, backpackers, independent travelers, and people wo just love good food like us.;)
We try to vsit at least once whenever we visit Bali. It is within Kuta area. Prices are cheap like USD$1 to $8 depending on the dish.
We always order the deep fried sweet and sour fish. It is just simply yummy. It is fresh, crispy and the sweet and sour sauce is just right and not overbearing!
The crab fried rice is also very delicious. There are also many vegetable dish to try. We also order the cream of asparagus and crab soup but as the consistency is not there, we will not recommend this dish.
It usually cost us 120,000 rupiah or less for 2 pax for 3 to 4 dishes plus beverages.
The main restaurant supervisor, a matured guy is usually the friendly person. The rest are merely order taker and may not speak fluent English.
When it gets busy and with many takeaway orders, service can be slow. Would suggest you call them and order before you visit the restaurant. We waited for 25 minutes the last trip as there were many takeaway orders at that time, which is about 6pm.
Try this so you can stretch your $!
