We stayed at the Seaview March 5/13. We found the hotel to be excellently located, close to everything, the beds were clean and comfortable, the staff were very good, the buffet break fast was exactly the same as you will find at any hotel in Bali, adequate,on arrival we were greeted well and upgraded to a cottage which was very quiet ,but the lounge seats were filthy , badly needed cleaning, but this is a very old hotel.
We dont know what restaurant some of the reviewers were raving about, but we only found one at this hotel'Rosso', it is a supposedly Italian restaurant, after one terrible meal we asked if the chef was Italian and we were told he was off tonight, we were there for Nyepi so we couldn't leave the hotel and we had to eat at the restaurant again on our last night, we asked if the chef was on duty and we were told he was on holiday so we played safe and ordered the easiest things on the menu, antipasto and spaghetti bolognese, after being told there was no goats cheese ,we ordered Pecorino, There was none so we settled on some other cheese, the Parma ham looked liked it had been left out in the rain. The spaghetti Bolognese was a sad affair, the pasta was not only aldente it was totally uncooked and it was swimming in what can only be described as Bolognese soup, we had to ask for Parmesan which was taken from another customer. This restaurant is one of the most expensive in kuta, the drinks are very very expensive, so be warned, you have been advised. There are some cheap good restaurants in Poppies 2 try the Victory which is only 300 metres from the hotel. On the whole we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but after staying at many other hotels in bali over the years we think there are so many that are better and more reasonable.
The back rooms away from the pool area are very quiet
