“Another great stay at Bali Garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

This is our 3rd time in 4 years at Bali Garden, so we must like it!

Our holiday was during 3rd Oct - 11th Oct. We had a wonderful room (just myself and 6 YO daughter) on the 3rd floor. Room 377. The room was huge for us and the AC worked so well.

The hotel is beautiful and having the option of 3 pools during school holidays was wonderful. We found the best time to swim was straight after breakfast - you had the pool to yourself! You hire towels for 200,000Rp deposit from the snack stand just near reception, we found this really easy and you can refresh your towel each day if you like.

They offer a huge selection for breakfast. If you cant find anything to eat then you must be a pretty fussy eater. Highlight at breakfast was my daughter being able to feed the fish in the ponds below. Just ask one of the staff for a bag of food - cost 5,000Rp. Great to watch.

We ate at The Boardwalk a few times. It is usually fantastic service and food but we had an off night where our meals took an hour to come out (this was a night without a wedding), and when you have a starving child it makes not for a happy time. Apart from that one off night we went back and it was great! We also ate at Batan Waru, I love this place and as always the food and drinks were fantastic. Also has free Wi Fi.

Overall, another great stay. I have posted about the hotel and my trip on my blog. Please feel free to check it out.

Dear hdettmann,
Warmest greeting from Bali Garden Beach Resort

Thank you for taking the time to write this review regarding your stay at the Bali Garden Beach Resort.

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. However, I am disappointed that your one of your dinner experience did not meet your exceptions as it took almost an hour. On That as sometimes guests are walk in at the same time and families as well large tables are at the restaurant food service can be delayed, as we also cook everything fresh. Therefore we suggest to avoid the crowded and peak dining hours to reserve for a rather earlier time. From four to seven daily we have got a DJ with sunset chill and great drink offers. Sun sets around 6 pm which provides a great background for a nice sunset family dinner.

I will share your comments with our team as I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services.

Thank you again for sharing your experience and we hope your next experience at Bali Garden Beach Resort will be a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Best Regards,
Nita Traeger

This was our first trip as a family of four with two children aged 10 and 8 to the Bali Gardens Beach Resort. We stayed at the resort for 10 days in a Family Suite (Room 109). The room was located on the ground floor of the hotel toward the back and faced onto a service alley for the hotel. It was a quiet location and there were no noise issues either from other guests or outsiders for the duration of our stay.

Our room was spacious if somewhat a little tired. In particular the bathroom was a real let down being quite shabby and in dire need of renovation. It was very poky and as is often typical of Bali the water pressure in the shower was lacking. Mould ingrained into the grout was off putting and the towels are in need of replacement - they were quite thin and not very effective. Having said that the rest of the room was neat and simply appointed with plenty of space for storage and the staff always ensured they were cleaned spotlessly each day. Having a water cooler with fresh drinking water was a plus and there was a reasonably sized fridge and efficient air conditioner, both in good working order. Considering we only used the room to sleep in, it was fine.

The hotel itself is set amongst beautiful gardens with excellent swimming and restaurant facilities. The affordability and quality of the food available was good. Breakfast is taken in the Cafe and there is a reasonable selection. Eggs are made to order and the pancakes were a hit with the kids. The breakfast staff were always cheery and polite and keen to be accommodating.

Most days we fed our family of four lunch with drinks for around $12 - $20. Dinner at the Boardwalk Cafe was excellent value and only more expensive when adding cocktails. Even these were quite cheap compared to home at around $5.50 AUD each. There is a reasonable range of food to select from the menu, ranging from Western to Indonesian dishes. We enjoyed our meals at the hotel. The vista to the beach is fantastic, especially for watching the beautiful afternoon sunset. The kids are easily observable in the pool from most seating options and there is always some chilled out tunes to help set the vibe. Every evening there were different entertainment options ranging from fire dancers to flair bartenders. We particularly enjoyed the evenings they had on an acoustic foursome who were very talented and were happy to take requests. What a wonderful way to while away the hours with good food, good music and a spectacular view. The restaurant staff were always very polite and accommodating even if they weren't quite as affable as I remember the locals being 10 years ago. It's all about business these days which is a little bit of a shame as it takes away some of the charm of the place. Unfortunately we found some of the late night pool bar staff quite rude on one occasion, but we were not going to let one bad experience spoil our stay.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with the Discovery Shopping Mall just a one minute walk away, Kuta Square 5 minutes walk away and Water Bom Park directly opposite. Walk further south along the beach and there are multiple restaurant choices, all reasonably priced. The walk along the beach is really pleasant, and once the hawkers have seen you around for a few days they are content to leave you along after a polite "Tidak Terimah Kasi" ( no thank you). Just make sure you don't promise any of them you will come back later if you don't intend to.....they don't forget a face!

Lack of access to fee wifi was an inconvenience and really the hotel should offer this service for free.

All in all the Bali Gardens is a great budget hotel in a fantastic location. What the rooms lack in sophistication the location alone makes up for. We would be keen to return to this hotel to stay in adjoining rooms on our next trip.

Room Tip: Room 109 is in a quiet location.

Had a wonderful 10 days at Bali garden, staff all spoke pretty good English, hotel was beautiful with lots of facilities, amazing pools and restaurants . Only fault would be that when we arrived we had to find our own room and weren't shown so we got lost for 20 min before finding it ( very large and maze like hotel) apart from that all amazing especially breakfast !!! Ida is the best staff member there he will help you with anything , thank you !!

We normally stay at the Bali Garden and it did not disappoint. The hotel staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for you.
The breakfast is not amazing and has not really changed in the 10+ years we have been going but it is filling and the restaurant area is clean, comfortable and the staff are very attentive.
The hotel is undergoing some renovation which is nice to see as the decor is getting a bit dated in areas.
My only gripes would be that the service around the pool area was non existant but seeing they had a wedding every day and it was peak time I could let it slide. And the WiFi in the hotel is slow .... for some reason the hotel charges you for internet access, which is really stupid as the restaurant right next door has a free wifi hotspot, so does Starbucks right next to that :P

Overall it was a very relaxing time, the hotel is central to all our needs - easy access to the beach, close to shopping (discovery plaza right next door) and a clean and friendly environment.

Will be staying there again.

We travelled to Bali and stayed at Bali Garden Beach Resort for 12 nights in September 2012.(family of 6 with 4 kids). Large family room on ground floor. Excellent loacation. Close to beach, markets, shopping centre, restaurants. Beautiful, friendly staff. Pools, gardens and Boardwalk restaurant and swim up bar were fantastic. Rooms were a bit dated but cleaned immaculately daily (only in the room to sleep anyway!). I would definatley stay there again and hightly recommend for families. Thanks, Amy J.

This was our very first trip to Bali. Upon arrival, the desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was not quite ready, so we were offered another instead of having to wait. There is some construction going on which will enhance the hotel, but it did cause us some noise. Upon approaching the staff, they were very accommodating and moved us to a quiter room. Nothing was too much trouble. If I could offer any advice, it would be to approach the staff if you have any concerns. Give them a chance to help you while you are there, instead of waiting til you get home to complain, at which point its too late. We found the hotel to be in the perfect location with access to both Centro and Discovery Malls, right across the road from Waterbom and close to the Art Market and general market shopping. The setting is absolutely beautiful, right on the beach. The Boardwalk Restaurant served delicious food with free entertainment nightly such as fire dancers and acrobats. We looked forward to seeing all the friendly staff, though had a definite soft spot for Lovan. He welcomed us to our regular table and provided fantastic service. We were always asked if we wanted the childrens (aged 3 and 7) meals served first with the entrees which was a nice touch. The breakfast has an array of choices and we made sure to make the most of it before heading out for the day. The Tari Spa offered many services, all at very reasonable prices. My husband is a keen golfer and you can arrange golf packages through the hotel, inc clubs if you dont bring your own. The pools (3) were beautifully set and provided options for little ones, as well as those confident swimmers. We also learnt that booking day trips directly through the tour desk at the hotel saved us money for Waterbom and The Safari Park. We had a fabulous time and will definitely return to The Bali Garden Hotel

We stayed at the Bali Garden Beach Resort Sept/Oct this year.

During our stay here we also were fortunate enough to get married.

Bali Garden Beach Resort were amazing, Dani the wedding planner works nothing short of a miricale with her staff to make your wedding the best day of your life. Words cannot describe how amazing it was, the 60 guests that attended have all said what a fantastic job that Dani and the staff did. If you are considering getting married here I would tell you NOT to hesitate and book now. The staff are professional, trustworthy and honest and I am greatful of the amazing job they did for us on our special day.

The hotel itself is amazing, the staff and professional and friendly, the rooms are clean and the pool areas (all 3) are fantastic. Dinner or lunch at the boardwalk resturant is a must even if you choose not to stay at the Bali Garden.

I do not hesitate recommending this hotel to all, although because of the excellent service that the staff and hotel provide there is alot of families that stay here, do not let this turn you off staying at the Bali Garden as there is the spa pool which is situated in some nice gardesn which children are not allowed to play in, making this hotel the perfect mix for any age group...

Room Tip: The only difference between the deluxe and superior rooms is where the balcony faces, so if you are...
