We have just returned after spending two weeks at the resort. At one stage there were 9 of us in our family group. We were all MOST impressed with the presentation of our rooms, certainly the cleanliness and cheerfulness of all staff. Taking advantage of the restaurant and room service was a real bonus. We read thoroughly all reviews before our trip and once there, realised there was nothing to fear at all. We would certainly return and again enjoy the genuine hospitality offered by ALL the staff throughout the resort.

Room Tip: Rooms 2 and 3 with outlook to pool and grounds

We stayed here for two weeks during our month in Indonesia. The grounds are beautifully maintained and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The spa is spotlessly clean and well run and the massages, which are included in many of the hotel's tours are wonderful. We had several hot stone massages and found them truly relaxing as we had done a lot of trekking prior to our stay here and had aching muscles.
Our room was spotlessly clean and very well equipped but perhaps slightly dark. The best rooms are those on the front which look out over the sea.
The food was delicious with Western and Indonesian options. We were reassured too that all salads are washed in filtered water. The tropical fruit juices are freshly made and are delicious and there is an option for muesli at breakfast.
Once a week there is an entertainment of local dancing which is great to see whilst eating dinner. There is also the possibility of doing a cooking class with the hotel's chef in the resort's kitchen in the paddy fields. We really enjoyed this experience and the chef is kind and helpful with all the participants. Generally I would thoroughly recommend this place if you like small and friendly.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are best because that overlook the sea.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here. The place was very nice but I think the hygiene is not great.

The tubs in the bathroom was not very nicely cleaned, but when I pointed out was cleaned up immediately. The bed sheets didn't seem perfectly clean either.

also, the swimming pool had too much chlorine in it.

I think the experience was not 5 star but a little off it.

After staying for 6 nights at Candidasa, we shifted to Royal Resorts: Royal Bali Beach Club at Jimbaran Bay. We spent only 2 days at this resort but in this short span also, we liked the resort having good rooms, garden, swimming pool, spa and restaurant. There are lot of shops and restaurant outside the resort. We visited the Karma Jimbaran property which is too good having amazing sea view and defines luxury. You can also swim in the sea which was clear blue water and coral view. It was worth going to Nusa Dua for water sports and Kuta beach for sunset view and nightlife. You can also go to Sanur for happy ending massages. Denpasar Airport is just 10 minutes drive from Jimbaran and you will save lot of travelling time and money if you like to do sight seeing. You also get Indian veg food at Kuta, near Jimbaran.Could not meet the manager named Wayan but the Asst Manager was found very adamant and rude. Anyways after joining Royal group, this was our 2nd international holiday and we enjoyed our stay. After visiting Phuket last year, this year we went to Bali and the trip was really very memorable and some credit definately goes to Royal Resorts because of which we travelled to Bali. Cheers, Ashish Gujarathi

Room Tip: Request for pool facing rooms near the restaurant n bar

This was our second stay. Uor last was in October 2011 (see review).

Things have changed, particularly the professionalism of the management and staff of the resort. Dede, the Assistant Manager, was excellent in his management of the whole team while Wayan was away for the majority of our stay due to family reasons. Meeting Wayan upon his return, he also came across as a professional and experienced operator.
Every member of staff was happy, smiling and attentive during our stay from the housekeeping staff, porter, restaurant/bar staff –especially Made the waitress - and those looking after the grounds. The reception staff members were also excellent in their professionalism. We were always greeted with a “Good morning” or “Hello” from staff, regardless of their role in the resort and, upon return from our long walks, we got a “Good afternoon”. Lovely, smiling faces.
If you need reliable transport from the resort to anywhere on the island, ask for Kodak “like the camera”. Good English, knows the roads and doesn’t scare you and a reasonable price.
The pool surrounds had been re-done since our last visit. While the look is fine, being made of concrete, it gets quite on the tooties so wear your thongs/jandels between 1000-1500 hours each day. Not a complaint, just an observation.
While basking in our preferred loungers throughout our stay, the dining staff were attentive yet not obstructive to us enjoying our tranquillity. The “snack menu” should cater for most tastes although the bruschetta a bit expensive at 4,500++ (+10% service, +11%% govt tax) for three slices of French bread with tomato and cheese. Better off paying the 6,500++ for a small pizza. The pricing can be quite off-putting, actually; a gin and tonic (a staple) is charged at 6,500++ and then 1,500++ for the tonic, making it 8,000++ a throw (9,680IDR) about nine-ten dollars US/AUD.
Room service – not 24 hour – was quickly supplied at the same price as the restaurant (which, to be fair, considering you can see the kitchen from almost every room, shouldn’t attract a premium).
The K Spa is still three times the cost of other local spa/massage treatment areas. The best place is almost next door - Island Spa 70k for an hour.
The room was nice and clean, the room being swept mopped and tidied daily. You only get two bottles of water for the first day. You can order (as we do) a 19 litre water-cooler style bottle of water for 35,000++. Should last you the week.
The grounds we still well kept, with leaves, fallen flowers and other detritus removed each morning. Our room had some pretty nasty mildew/moss on the balcony (see photo) but we had just come out of the High Season so, to give them some leeway, maybe their annual "cleanse and strip" hadn't been done. It didn't smell so we left it.
The small library (about 80-odd titles) from our first visit was happily still in existence; we brought some books from home which we read and then swapped out for others which we then swapped out again at the RBBC Sanur (see review). There are some German, Italian and Scandinavian titles there as well.
All-in-all a pleasant experience with us spending a lot of time walking around Jimbaran and taking in the sights, smells, tastes and culture of the area.
Personally, I think the “Jimbaran Bay – Best Seafood in Bali” is waaay overdone now. The beach-fronting restaurants have become complacent; the quality is way down – mostly overcooked and under-sized – but some of the Jl Uluwatu (the main thoroughfare) restaurant are spectacular (see my Balique Review).
The food at the RBBC Jimbaran caters for most but is pretty pedestrian in tastes. It’s very much aimed at the Western palate. Not a bad thing but the “experience” is lost somewhat.
Yes, there are groups of people being shown through during the day as sales staff try to sell timeshare to tourists. On the whole, they are mostly unobtrusive and shouldn’t cause a problem*.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ll be back. The tranquillity in the place is great – although not set on the beach (which belies its name) it does have a great buffer between the pool/relaxation area and the road.

*Only one complaint, which I have put to Odyssey management, is that two of the sales staff seemed to think the resort was their extended office – one even said he was the Resort Manager! They savagely abused the restaurant staff in our hearing and, to make it worse, and interrupted my and The Minister of Solar Radiation Absoption’s tranquillity. They were rude and aggressive toward the staff (on three, yes THREE separate occasions), smoked like they were in their own house and roamed around speaking into their mobile phone as loudly as a self-absorbed 1980’s financial advisor. Imram? Sanjay? Yes, you two! You ruined a nice, tranquil, professionally-run week for us. Leave the sales to the other (professional and conscientious) staff. You have no place representing these people.

Everything else was absolutely sensational.

Room Tip: Try rooms 10-16 they are further away from the pool and restaurant area. A balcony room is always n...

This is the second year running we have stayed at this resort, travelling from England. It was a delight to return to the resort - small, and quiet, it is relaxing and quite intimate away from the hurly-burly going on the other side of the reception. It is comfortable and well equipped, food in the restaurant is good, but what makes a success of the resort is the staff. They are so welcoming - in all jobs and all levels, helpful, and returning for a repeat visit, remember you and something about you. Calling you by name makes you feel not only welcome but also valued. Staff are always ready to do that little bit extra for you with advice, suggestions and bookings, and with staff such as Kadek Suarniti and Dewi Aryani, you would have to go a long way to find two more pleasant people than they are - they made the visit such a delight.

My wife and myself stayed in RBBC,Jimbaran for 2 nights and had a late check in at 8pm. As it was pretty late, we wanted to go to jimbaran bay for dinner and the staff at the reception was very kind to offer us a pick up drop to jimbaran bay which actually is a good 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

We had some trouble after we checked in to the room as the air-condition of the bedroom wasn’t working and were forced to sleep in the living room which had a sofa cum bed. The staff were prompt and tried to repair the air-condition but couldn’t succeed and fixed it in the morning on a priority basis. The hotel is very well maintained and the room otherwise was excellent. The staffs were very friendly and rendered a great service. We had a corner room in the ground floor which had a balcony outside overlooking beautiful and well maintained garden which was very calm and peaceful. The restaurant was really nice serving Indonesian, Italian and Indian cuisine.

There are taxi service outside the hotel who offer a drop and pick up to jimbaran bay at reasonable price as walking post sunset is little difficult due to heavy traffic and gets dark with not many streetlights on the road.

We really enjoyed our stay at RBBC,Jimbaran and would definitely recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Corner room in the ground floor is really nice and private.
