Almost didn't want to write this and share secret spot, this very cute friendly hotel . If you do not want OTT five star opulence but a great value for money boutique hotel with modern , clean studio rooms then look no further. I couldn't fault it , friendly staff and close to beach , perfect base for exploring. I would return . Just hope it doesn't become so popular there no room for me !!

After traveling in Bali for over 3 weeks we decided to wrap up the trip in Jimbaran. We came upon "The Open House" purely by chance (we don't like to pre book) while looking for a hotel we stopped to chat with a local merchant. She recommended we check the "New Hotel" around the corner. The photos on their website are exactly what The Open House looks like. It's very quiet, beautifully landscaped, super clean, friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms open out on to the courtyard and pool area. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach where you find a row of restaurants to eat the catch of the day or the traditional Nasi Goreng while enjoying the sound of the ocean. When you walk in the opposite direction you'll find a typical Balinese Market where the morning commerce begins. Here you can purchase fresh fruit and snacks for the day or an array of many other things. The town of Jimbaran is still typical Balinese and isn't over run by tourist, unlike Kuta. However if action is what you want it's a short taxi ride to go to Kuta or Seminyak for the day to shop or dine out. If you are looking for a clean and peaceful place to stay where you can read a book, relax or venture out for the day and explore the area this is a great spot. We loved it!

Hi Colleen & Curtis,
Thank you for taking your time to write about your happiness to be in Jimbaran and giving us great chance to have you in our lovely newly open house. We will have soon our journey conduct by our own team, combining exploring local area with the Balinese story telling and showing the local houses and temple, as well as local cooking class which will start with morning market visit & morning shop in the market act as Balinese! Hope to see you soon again...

We stayed here for 2 nights in July, it had only been open for a month. I could still smell the plaster dust from the walls! It's a modern well laid out with rooms upstairs and downstairs, about 18? all up. The pool and restaurant are close, the pool had a LOT of chlorine in it, so much so that we couldn't open our eyes and your skin smelt of it. That's pretty usual for Bali though, as they don't seem to know how to get the ph balance right at most of the places we stayed at. The pool area is lovely and the restaurant is clean and open sided. The breakfast menu is a bit confusing but its well rounded. The staff aren't sure about western meals; tea or coffee comes last, sometimes you get a juice at the beginning or sometimes at the end. The toast, a generous proportion comes out without enough jam or butter but they will top it up if you ask.
I loved the flowers at the reception and the Balinese front desk girl is gorgeous. You will be given fruit on arrival which is a nice customary touch.
Its a short walk to the beach; 2 minutes which is great.
Not far to Kuta or Uluwatu by car/scooter.
We hired a scooter from a hotel contact, the scooter was old and the back tyre was bald. I was glad to give it back after a day's hire. Make sure you check the bike out or go elsewhere for this.

The rooms are bright,, yeah, and have all mod cons.

Room Tip: Upstairs near the back of the block. Quieter.

We appreciate your constructive comment, and we will immediately review it internally.

For the motorbike we are using 3rd party company, and we have contacted them to ensure that better product & services will be provided in the future and we will monitor it closely for the quality before we let the guest take the motorbike.

Best Regards,

We had a happiness lunch at The Open House because the restaurant looks clean and lovely, all staffs are really friendly, especially a western guy looks their boss greeting to us positively, and the important thing is their delicious food. We ordered a nasi goreng which tastes locally, one prawn rice with great sauce, one fried potatoes and fried banana dessert.
But we almost had to stay there for two hours because it's too slowly for offering meals even though only two tables have guests. And the menu in the restaurant is too small that you almost hardly have other choice.
Overall, in terms of a new hotel and restaurant, they are not bad for me. So I give them four stars for encouraging.

In regards to the food service, as we cook everything ala minutes , will take a bit longer to ensure all food are served hot or fresh . And we have change the all day dining menu into much more variety since beginning of August.
We are very much looking forward tp welcoming you back soon...

Best Regards.

I booked the Open House based on the very positive reviews on TA and while the staff are very friendly and accommodating, we've had a few difficulties that have detracted from our stay. In particular we were given a double room when we had specifically booked a twin room (much as I love my mother, I don't want to sleep with her!). The lovely staff found a twin room for us but the air conditioning wasn't particularly effective, and the fridge didn't work at all. Unfortunately none of the fridges seemed to perform any better so we relied on a steady stream of ice from the kitchen.

This is a very new hotel and I'm sure they'll sort out their teething problems, but I'd suggest that this is a hotel better suited to couples than friends; I thinks it's a great design but there is no bathroom per se so no privacy from each other. And the rooms are quite small. The balconies though are wonderfully spacious with a table and chairs and a comfortable day bed.

We have been there for one night before flying to Sulawesi. They were very pleasent and everything was perfect, and it help us to recharge our batteries. The rooms are very well distributed and decorated, and outside they have a relaxing zone with a swimming pool.

If we repeat to Bali, now we know where to book again !!!!

Very, very nice Hotel really close to the Beach, made us the perfect ending of our Holidays ! Everything in the Hotel is very clean, the rooms are big, really beautiful designed, and well equipped (good internet, minibar, flat TV ...) . The Staff is more than just friendly and will assist with all the needs you have, we felt in good hands right away.
The surroundings, and the Hotel itself are very quiet, but you can reach everything from shopping opportunities to surf spots or sightseeing fast with a motorbike ( the reception organized them for us and they were delivered directly to the hotel )
The menu in the restaurant at the hotel is not too big, but everything we ordered was really, really tasty. Especially the new Breakfast menu was outstanding.
I can only recommend this hotel as you have a quiet place to stay with a wonderful beach, but in close range all opportunities Bali can offer.
Thanks to the Staff and everyone offering us such a pleasant stay.
