After traveling in Bali for over 3 weeks we decided to wrap up the trip in Jimbaran. We came upon "The Open House" purely by chance (we don't like to pre book) while looking for a hotel we stopped to chat with a local merchant. She recommended we check the "New Hotel" around the corner. The photos on their website are exactly what The Open House looks like. It's very quiet, beautifully landscaped, super clean, friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms open out on to the courtyard and pool area. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach where you find a row of restaurants to eat the catch of the day or the traditional Nasi Goreng while enjoying the sound of the ocean. When you walk in the opposite direction you'll find a typical Balinese Market where the morning commerce begins. Here you can purchase fresh fruit and snacks for the day or an array of many other things. The town of Jimbaran is still typical Balinese and isn't over run by tourist, unlike Kuta. However if action is what you want it's a short taxi ride to go to Kuta or Seminyak for the day to shop or dine out. If you are looking for a clean and peaceful place to stay where you can read a book, relax or venture out for the day and explore the area this is a great spot. We loved it!
