Spent a week at the sister property Rimba and visited the Spa at Ayana on a number of occasions and found it to be a very pleasant experience.
Positives - love all the fish swimming around the waiting area and the reception staff are very thoughtful and friendly.
Not so much hardcore negatives but things that are not to my personal liking: I dislike that the dressing room area requires guests to wander about the grounds in a thin gown. Not terribly comfortable feeling. And as your not required to shower on arrival - in room change would be better. The other thing is that the actual decore and setting of the treatment rooms verges more to the spartan functional look rather than an expected rich Balinese feel. Perhaps both things might be looked at when this Spa gets its refurb.
Setting all the aside - how was the Spa experience? Good. Depending on the person providing the treatment. Like most spa treatments it comes down to the technique and experience of the staff - the first and third visit with the same lady was fabulous. The second treatment with another was just okay. Not bad but just okay.
Recommend? On the fence with this spa. It certainly offers the convenience for those staying at the Ayana or Rimba (via the trolley car service) and the treatments are good but very expensive for what it is. If cost is more a factor than convenience - there is probably much better options available within Jimbaran and certainly within Seminyak and surrounds. Flip a coin.
