“Nice mega resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

I stayed at the Rimba for 3 nights and found the resort very nice. We had a hill view room which was big enough for the two of us and the amenities of the resort (including Ayana) were fantastic, especially the private Kubu beach and priority access to Rock Bar. The food is great and there is sufficient variety as we tried Dava, Kisik, To'ge and Honzen.

Just note however that the resort is the type that tends to attract the large tour groups. Unfortunately due to the closure of the kids pool for two days mean't noisy kids were running around the normally off limits adult only pools which was a bit annoying.

The service standard is not quite up to a 5 star standard just yet. The staff are very friendly and always welcoming however little details need to be fixed. We had to confirm our departure car on 3 separate occasions and charging US50 for a hotel transfer when a roundtrip taxi would cost $20 is a bit much considering most hotels/villas include this in the price.

We had a very nice stay at Rimba. As it was my husband's birthday he received a slice of cake which it was quite nice. We had lunch at Ah Yat Abalone Seafood restaurant and it was delicious, tasty and prepared very well. The breakfast at To'Ge it was nice but nothing outstanding. We also tried the Italian restaurant at Ayana Sami Sami and it was delicious. The room is very nice and we had a beautiful view of the bay and the pools. The service is very good too, the staff is very attentive. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would be back for sure.

Dear ‘Liddy33’

It was a pleasure to be chosen as the venue for your husband’s birthday celebration and I’m glad you enjoyed your time with us. In regards to breakfast, we also serve buffet breakfast at Padi restaurant at AYANA, and a la carte breakfast at Dava restaurant, so next time you visit us please feel free to try one of these outlets as well.

Again thank you and I look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Best regards,

Clive Edwards,

We spent 4 days at the Rimba in Jimbaran in June and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are all there to make your stay very special and they are there to provide a level of service that is above and beyond your expectations.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the resort is breathtaking.
The pools are amazing as are the various styles of deck chairs available at each pool.
The free shuttle service between the Rimba and the Ayana is fabulous and allows easy access and use of both resorts.
Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Rimba Jimbaran! I surprised my wonderful boyfriend with a trip to Bali in April/May for his birthday & luckily found this gem! It wasn't cheap but worth every cent!!! We stayed here on the last 3 days of our trip - but we honestly wish we had stayed here the whole time!!! This place has the most beautiful pools I've ever seen & there was so many of them!!!

The rooms are perfectly attended to and room service, impeccable.

One of the best things about Rimba is you also have access to the facilities at AYANA. We caught a shuttle (which leaves every 10-15 mins) and had the pleasure of relaxing at the cliffside pools, the rock bar & the amazing private beach (Kubu Beach) THIS WAS AMAZINNGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! The food was to die for! Must try the Mie Goreng! <3

We fell in love with the rooftop bar at Rimba - the food, drinks and service were perfect! We spent 2 nights there, relaxing and watching the sun set on the horizon.

All of the food was incredible!! My favourite was the Nasi Goreng!!

The breakfast was BLISS and definitely the best I've ever had! It had a huge variety of food - pretty much everything you could think of; including fresh pastries, exotic fruit, fresh juices, herbed waters & fresh cooked to order omelettes! The manager himself came and spoke to us & checked how everything was!

So impressed at how personal every bit of our experience was!
Can't wait to be back at this blissful place very soon!!!

Lots of love! Laree Barney

Located in the same complex as Ayana Resort, guess can have Ayana facility with cheaper price as Rimba's room rate lower than Ayana. Room is modern minimalist, beautiful and charming. Love the circle bath tub with rain shower, but I could hear very clearly the next room conversation from the bathroom. So its noisy and disturbing. I thought they can hear me also from their bathroom.

We spent a week at Jimbaran for our honeymoon. Overall, we had a wonderful experience there. In previous reviews, we hadn't been clear that Jimabaran is not only sisters to Ayana, but is on the same grounds. It is basically one big resort, with shuttles that run regularly (every 10-15 minutes) to various locations on the grounds. As noted, Jimbaran is the cheaper place to stay, but still you have access to all Ayana's facilities. Jimbaran is not on (or really even very near) the beach, but Ayana has its own beach, and the pools at both locations are wonderful (you can see the ocean from the ones at Ayana, but only in the far distance from Jimbaran). One other note: the private beach at Ayana, while incredibly lovely, requires one to walk down (and later back up) 197 stairs. So for those with mobility issues, the beach may not be an option.

The staff was incredibly attentive, sometimes almost too much so. You could not really wander around with someone asking if they could help you. Ultimately, this was a nice touch, but just something to know if you are a more independent traveller. The pool-side service at both places was wonderful -- cold bottled water and fresh towels laid out for you every time you sit down, people who circulate with ice cream treats or offering to clean your sunglasses, good pool-side food. Currently, there still aren't really any shops open at Jimbaran, and the business center and travel agency are fairly limited, although again, the staff was incredibly helpful when faxes didn't go through there, for example.

It is worth noting that Jimbaran is not really near anything. You can't easily walk anywhere from there (other than Ayana). You will need to take a taxi, and most places are at least $10 USD taxi ride. After realizing that you either had to eat on site or take a taxi ride somewhere, we ended up buying some breakfast foods and beer and keeping them in our room so that we could balance out the expensive food sold on site (since we didn't want to leave Rimba/Ayana every meal and even if we had chosen to do so, with the taxi ride there and back, it would have ended up almost as expensive to eat meals out). There are lots of restaurant options in the Rimba/Ayana facility, and they are all solid, although I wouldn't say any were outstanding. They were quite pricey though, so that is something to factor in when deciding whether to stay here.

We opted for the cheaper, non-ocean facing room (hillside). The view was not particularly fantastic (especially in light of the construction going on nearby), and we were on the top floor and think we had some bats on the balcony at night (no light switch out there to see). But the room itself was lovely, clean and had a great shower/bath tub.

The spa is also worth noting. The aquatonic pool is an incredible experience (and, after googling it, we learned it is an experience not to be found many places in the world). It is both relaxing and stimulating at the same time. We also did the couples massage/facial/body scrub package, which was well worth it. We would highly recommend the spa.

Overall, we had a wonderful time at Rimba, once we strategically planned our outings and our meals. We would absolutely go back again and recommend it highly.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room that is high up (the views are far better, on both sides of the hotel), but n...

Was sad to check out today. Beautifil facilities and very polite and welcoming staff. Pool and gym were definetly my favourite. Will be staying here again for sure. Only fault I could mention is that prices at the hotel restaurants were very marked up although still nice food.
