“Great Experience Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

Recommended by the hotel manager and a little off the main road, Cuca has a beautiful setting with great food and equally good service. It was nice to meet the Chef and his partner and be offered a taste of an upcoming menu item too. We were in a hurry but could have easily stayed longer, easily the best experience we've had in 3 trips to Bali.

“Incredible incredible food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

We read a couple of magazine reviews and heard a few recommendations. In bali we like a view for dinner but decided to give this a go. It was absolute beautiful as we walked in - what a huge property and lovely garden to lead you in. The staff were extremely professional and accommodating.

We loved the menu - choosing four tapas per person. We could have ordered every single thing on the menu! Every dish was superb - I could not have imagined better. We had the melting cheese, pumpkin salad, the butterfish, and octopus among others which were all incredible! We are not big dessert fans but my husband and I tried two and were thankful we did because the passionfruit mango meringue was spectacular! And so was the cocoa mint. The meringue came out looking like a fried egg - very very innovative.

The owners were extremely passionate too and it showed in the atmosphere and in the food! Good wine too - we went for the local and loved it.

All in all, we have been in Bali for three weeks now and have tried all the "top" restaurants and this was our favourite - by far! Thinking of going again tomorrow actually....

“After 3 weeks in bali this is the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

Taxi took some time to find restaurant but upon arrival for lunch we were warmly greeted and offered inside or out dining
The inside is quirky but comfortable
After ordering cocktails restauranter Kevin approached and made suggestions for our meal , we both ordered 3 tapis dishes each to share and each dish were amazing flavour and texture , the bottle of NZ sav blanc enhanced every dish
Desert was sensational
We have not stopped talking about our experience thank you kevin and your attentive staff

“Amazing”

This is a seriously good dining experience and is comparable to the best I have had anywhere. Do the tasting menu. For around $45 it is unbelievable value.

“Chef is trying but needs work to get 5*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

We visited Cuca after reading trip advisor reviews. we have dined around the world in many 5* and few michelin star restaurants, Cuca needs some serious work to get to next level. My 4* review is not for food but for Chef Kevin trying to make a difference at Bali. While the food is innovative, many dishes lack common sense.

Pros: Nice building and ambience, chef is trying his best to get you the best dish and its a large place for big party with a walking distance from Jimbaran beach. Cocktails are good but little bit over the top, I mean ice candy in a cocktail, nice touch but most os us need more alcohol or spiking, a candy will alcohol is difficult to freeze but thats what is needed.

Cons: Some foods are over thought, Please do not serve shoe string fries to children, they will not appreciate it. The pumpkin Chicha has no flavor, yes organic food can have flavor if matches correctly. The dish hardly matches with yoghurt, maybe a bed of spicy chutney will do the trick. The restaurant does not have salt and pepper dispensers and when we asked they gave us big bowl full of both, yes I assume the food is perfect but everyone's palate is different, we saw large quantity of pepper wasted.

Dear Chef Kevin, please take the review constructively and try to changes the dishes to everyone liking and spice them up little bit up.
