“Lovely accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

Myself, my husband and another couple stayed here using a Groupon last week. The staff were extremely helpful and the accommodation was nice. The location is a bit far from some of the major attractions, but this was actually nice for us as we hired scooters and also got our own driver for a few days. The private pool was lovely and wherever we had any issues or needed something the staff were extremely quick to assist.

Like most people, we have gotten 4D3N deal from Groupon, which had include pick up services, daily breakfast and a complimentary lunch. As we will be arriving Bali a day earlier, I have sent an email to the villa management to request the pick up from our Hotel instead of the airport. Was glad that they agreed and was so on time to pick us up! The villa was clean and I really love the privacy there. Even it might be quite a trouble for most tourists to travel around, it is not difficult for us. The staffs are very friendly, and we got to rent a motobike from them at a very reasonable and affortable price ($75K/day). Easily to move around Bali just with a motobike + google map! So if anyone were to be visiting this villa, it will be best option for you if you were actually worried that this villa is quite remoted.

The pool was clean and the view was awesom. We stayed at the highest villa and it was really quite and relaxing. Even though we see ants around every now and then, I guess is normal as it is up on a hill. Breakfast was given a choice of 3 - Mee Goreng, Nasi Goreng and Chicken Porridge, pretty fine and was always served on time. Also, there is even more TV channels to watch compared to the other hotels I was staying (add to a relief as I can't watch TV when I was staying in Kuta, TV in other hotel was really fuzzy and unclear :()

Definitely don't mind to stay longer! We had a pleasant stay and looking forward the whole area to be done up by 2014! (Some area is still under renov/construction as been told).

The management for this villa has been changed after the name changed.
Overall our stay there was pleasant.
Clean and quiet villa.
Location is quite far away but it will be fine if you have a hired driver.
Staffs were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was served on time. Our airport transfer was provided on time too.
Met our expectation since we only paid RM 230 a night.

We were initially quite skeptical after reading the negative reviews here. Similarly, we bought the accomodation from Groupon and during then, there werent much reviews because its a relatively new villa. As advised by some of the reviewers, we sourced for backup hotels/villas before we left for Bali. I'm so glad to say that we didnt utilise any of our backup plans. We stayed there throughout 4d3n.

What's bad:

Yes the location sucks. Its in the middle of a rural town with almost no facilities, other than a small convenient shop 5mins walk from the villa, which closes at 9pm. Yes the description in the advertisement is not true, our villa's view was half-blocked by another villa in front of us, although we still got a good view of the volcano. In addition, the villas were located on steep slopes, and there wasnt any steps. Hence it seemed dangerous if we ever lose footing. Its a long way to roll down. Not recommended for families with elders (esp with locomotion issues) and children (esp on prams).

Breakfast was served to our villa, and there were only 4 dishes, which I would only recommend the intercontinental breakfast (merely 2 thin bread slices and 2 other pastries). The porridge was horrible, no taste, not much ingredients, not warm. Overall, the breakfast serving was not enough even for a small appetite Asian like me. There was no restaurant there at all, so always remember to settle your dinner first before heading back. Their kitchen closes at 2pm, so if you have any complimentary lunch, best to have it served before 2pm. We took the chicken satay, and its not bad.

There was no refill for our shampoo and shower soap, so luckily we brought our own set. The bedsheets and towels had stains, but they werent too bad. There was no kettle or any tea/coffee, so luckily we brought our own portable kettle and teabags. There was no fan at the living room, so its baking hot during the day. However, we didnt really mind because we could just jump right into the pool.

It could take half a day for the villa staff to "top up their phone line credit" before we could call out to even a local phone line.

What's surprisingly pleasant:

The private pool was more like a plunge pool, quite small but around 1.5m deep. So it could only be used for a dip during hot days instead of swimming. Although deep, there is a ledge for us to sit. The pool was clean. Unlike the pool villa we had at Koh Samui (which was a battle-pool of carcasses of giant beetles, mosquitoes, bees, hornets, preying mantis), there werent much dead insects other than some small flies. Perhaps its also due to the fact that the water pump worked well, and we used mosquito coils at night. There were, however, some small scorpions and millipedes in the villa, which we suspected to have climbed out of the shower drainage. We just picked them up with tissue and released them at the mini garden by the pool. Speaking of the mini garden, it was manifested with cobwebs on the plants, but we only saw a few spiders during our visit. They stayed by their boundaries pretty well.

Unlike what other reviewers had, our shower room didnt flood, and we could have hot water showers even during wee hours. The air-conditioner was working quite well, we didnt have a problem with the temperature. The TV had some basic channels like national geographics, but dont expect to have movie channels.

Because of the location, we had all the privacy we wanted, and a dark sky for stargazing. I particularly like the wooden bench by the pool (except for some cockroaches and big ants which accidentally intruded us), because we could really sit there to enjoy the night view and cooling breeze. Top that experience up with a cup of warm tea!

The wifi in the room was quite good. Although the speed couldnt be compared to what we have at home, its considered reasonable as I could upload photos and surf net at night.

Our room was made up daily, and the service was quite good. However, the villa was mostly maintained by male staff (even for room make-up service), so it may be a little inconvenient and dangerous for women to stay there alone.

Although there was construction just beside the villa (we were told they were constructing their restaurants and additional villas), we didnt hear any noise.

Overall experience:

Satisfied, perhaps because we started off with very low expectations of the villa. We requested for a villa with more privacy and were given Villa 5B. Its great. We also went prepared, hence we didnt really face any major issues. The villa has personal drivers out for rental. We met one who is conversant in really good English and he is also very knowledgeable. Its a pity we already arranged for our own driver.

Recommended for couples who:
- are on tight budget (its considered relatively cheap for a pool villa)
- are only travelling around the South of Bali (We took almost 3 hours road journey just to travel up to Kintamani volcano at the North)
- wants the privacy, away from tourist crowds
- dont mind a little adventure with exotic insects
- are without kids
- are prepared to settle their own meals

Room Tip: Recommend Villa 5B. All the A villas were located just beside the road so there werent much privacy...

We also purchased this deal from Groupon and should have taken more notice when there wasn't even a website for this place, from the time we bought the deal to the time we checked in there had been a name change also. From the outset this place was terrible, after multiple confirmations for pickup time and an early morning (7am) wake up call to confirm a 12pm pick up our transport was an hour and a half late. We should have just stayed at Villa Coco (we can't recommend them enough), but gave this new facility a try. It's located in the middle of nowhere and certainly not Jimbaran Bay, there is nothing nearby not even a convenience store and no restaurant attached so plan ahead! You will need a driver if staying here and be prepared for long car trips to anywhere, the "transport" provided is only for a couple of hours in the afternoon and must be booked in advance. The pool was absolutely filthy and a mosquito breeding ground, so no chance of going for a quick dip. The infestation of all types of insects is horrendous, we checked in and on the kitchen bench it looked as though a nest of baby spiders had just hatched, they were everywhere!
The phone, tv and internet connection was intermittent and we only stayed long enough for the internet to work to find another hotel to check into that day. Staff didn't seem surprised to see us check out, it must be a regular occurance. On the plus side the driver for the Villa did drop us back into Kuta to our newly booked accommodations

Surprising after reading all the negative reviews before we came we were quite worried about it...but the moment we reach the airport, the guy is already there waiting for us to pick us up..when we reach our villa we have welcome drinks and towels .. Villa is really clean pool is clean too.. It's our last night here and we have to agree the staffs here are really helpful.. They even have driver for our day tour which cost 450000 only for a whole day , 4of us..pretty reasonable..they even bring umbrellas to our villa door step for us when it rains.. I'm quite surprise of the bad comments previously.. Well maybe they improvise a lot.. Only downside is the location if u do not have a driver. That's all

My partner and I have just returned from bali staying 9 nights we spent 3 nights at heaven hill / paradise loft.

We bought the deal on group after looking at the photos it looked beautiful we were let down as soon as we arrived.

Not only was it located 25 minutes away from jimbarran right on the outskirts! When we were taken to our villa there were still dirty plates from the guests before us outside our room. Not the best first impression. The staff will drive you to nusa dua or jimbarran only one way! And will charge to take you into kuta. Make sure you get a business card to show the taxi driver on way home because no one knows where it is!!

The roof of the lounge area was coved in mould and smelt terrible! The space was tiny and it is not a villa! The plunge pool is nice and the best part of the room but there is no chairs or table or sun beds to relax and enjoy it.

The breakfast is just microwaved rice or noodles and not the best (only 4 options to choose from) I went out and bought coco pops.

The room is hot and not enjoyable.

We thought about leaving and going back to sun island hotel (kuta) for the same price per night it is on a whole other level!!! (Highly reccomend sun island) but we decided to just go out all day and only return to sleep.

To some up just DONT stay here find somewhere else even if you bought the groupon voucher it puts a dampener on your holiday to stay here!
