“Trip to Remember!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

Perfect hotel if you want just the right amount of isolation. The villas are impeccably designed. Loved the bath and the his & hers sinks. The villa had its own pool, perfect if you want some "me" time or quality time with your partner.

The staff are helpful - will give useful tips where to go / what to do. The golf cars are aplenty. Can take you anywhere inside the facility. Very close to the beach, so you can have that morning stroll & have breakfast. They have nice beds along the shore, great for cocktails and just chilling out. I bought some chill-balinese CDs & played it in the villa - great background music for writing!
They deliver DVDs too, if you are too lazy to leave your Villa.

Book here - if you want a memorable time with your partner.

The grounds are magnificent; very established, perfectly set out and absolutely beautiful. The villas create a village feeling. The pavillions dotted around the water's edge are brilliant. We came upon one set up with paints and easels, in case someone wanted to have a little paint. The kids loved it. The main pool, lower pool, waterfall and smaller pools of different temperatures are of course great. The villas are large enough to live in, with great views over the bay. The service was faultless and genuinely friendly. How could you complain about no buffet at breakfast? The food was more than plentiful and almost deserved a Michelin star. If you have small kids, the Kids Club was a little tired and small, but I believe it's being renovated. Food and drink are very expensive, so we needed to eat out quite often. The famous strip of restaurants on the sand of the beach are a nice 15 minute walk. What a place to eat! Their prices are marked way up due to incredible location, but still moderate by home standards. Taxi drivers will take you to their preferred one and their commission may be added to the bill. Avoid. The beach itself was filthy with washed in plastic rubbish away from the restaurants, and the water looked questionable. A real pity. But it's a problem at many of Bali's beaches. Go to Padang Padang and Uluwatu. Wow!! Every aftenoon, a large arrangement of tropical fruits and chocolates appeared on our dining room table table. You could almost live on it. I want to go back.

Room Tip: All villas are fantastic. Closer to the water is better. Closer to the main buildings is better.

excellent service, awesome food & brilliant resort!
however, one pity: no breakfast buffet, only a la carte.

Dear Valued Guest,

We are delighted that you had a memorable stay at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay.

Thank you for sharing your experience and we are indeed happy that you enjoyed ‘excellent service’ and ‘awesome food’ during your stay.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the lack of a breakfast buffet. The original concept of the restaurant was to offer a relaxed setting for guests to enjoy a leisurely breakfast with an ala carte menu. We have however taken note of your feedback and will certainly consider offering a buffet option in the future.

We hope you will return soon and look forward to welcoming you back to Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay.

Best wishes.

The service at the restaurant was so bad. I ordered for some local fruits and it took one hour to arrive despite 3 reminders. The least they could tell us that it would take some time to pluck the fruits from the trees!

A wonderful hotel, staying there made our trip even dreamier than expected. Flawless service, beautiful rooms, and an amazing hotel pool which makes up for the fact that swimming in the sea isn't all that enjoyable an experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone, and it will definitely be my family's choice again next time we visit Bali.

Having been up in Ubud for several days relaxed and after a long ride in traffic from Ubud to Jimbaran and the busyness of the check-in/arrival hall left me unease. The staff was efficient in getting us to our villa with an ocean view. Unlike 4 seasons in North America/Europe the double twin is really a twin- not suitable for 2 children to sleep on, let alone 2 adults. A bit disappointed, but we have hight expectation of the this brand. We are group of 4- 2 adults 2 children. We will not make that same mistake of getting double twin again. That said, we asked for roll away bed in the hallway of the dressing area. The room to this villa is small also. There is a small plunge pool and a separate sitting area. The view of the ocean is obstructed by overgrown bushes and some trees; some removal/maintenance is needed. Wish there was a mosquito net over the couch in the pavilion to get an outdoor sleeping experience-- an ease our crowdedness of room

I had some massage and shirodhara done. The treatment was overall good, but the rating scale of shirodhara treatment quality alone is 2 out of 5. I have much more effective treatment done by the Mandarin Oriental in Chiangmai. Perhaps the 4 Season may want to look into that.

Another issue with the resort is that the hotel villas are quite far from the beach, one would need a buggy ride to the beach. There is not much of a shopping/dining next to the resort. The Jimbaran Corner which is a short taxi ride away offers some, but not much. Also, the taxi ride/in out of the resort is heavy traffic. (The government is trying to improve the road system- we'll see in a year).

(On a separate note, there is a construction next door of the Mandarin Oriental that has a direct access to the sandy beach).

Overall, we had a better experience at the St. Regis.

We spent one week in this resort in March 2012. My wife couldnt wait till we arrive to Bali, you know - laid back tropic paradise etc. We are well traveled, no kids, spending 2-3 months a year travelling to different location. To cut it short - resort location is from my point of view not good. It takes buggy ride outside the resort to to get to beach club located at bussy pulic beach. Villas with sea view are overlooking Jimbaran bay and the international airport. Nice if you like airplains, it is not very disturbing except in the night when for some reason some of the flights are flying right over the resort.

Villas are rather small and dark. We were, due to misunderstanding at booking, upgraded by courtesy of hotel management to two bedroom sea view villa and that made our stay rather ok but being forced to stay in the standard one we would not be happy at all. Plunge pools are really small, buggy service quick.

Food is ok, standard resort stuff, but forget going outside. Beach restaurants in the walking distance are not recommended for hygiene reasons and good lokal and international places to go are lokated at Kuta, Seminyak etc. And that is real downside of the resort. If you decide to go out for a sunset drink and the dinnet say to Ku De Ta - highly recommended by the way! - it takes you, due to a horrible trafic jams, at least one hour but you can count easilly on one and half. Return is faster. After one such adventure you loose your apetite for party life...

What is really good at this resort ( and I guess its rather by characteristic of Balines people) is their attitude to service. Always smiling and willing to help, real treat! We were not very happy about the concierge as they act rather as staff habdibg out lists of restaurants rather acting on their own experiance, but with a little help of google and tripadvisor you will find your way around.

Do not miss an opportunity to travel inland Bali. Its interesting and lunch in FS resort in Ubud was nice. Ubud itself was nice but to my mind somewhat "overmarketed" as a destination.

Overall - if we ever go back, we will definitelly go to other part of island, Jimbaran bay is not our preferred pick at Bali.

Room Tip: Take double bedroom 204. Probably the best location in the resort.

Dear Valued Guest,

We truly appreciate your comments, both positive and where we need to improve. I sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced with the resort location, beach access, airplane noise, villa's lighting and plunge pool. We do take your comments seriously and I have personally addressed these issues with my team members for discussion and immediate improvement.

We do hope that this experience has not permanently tarnished your opinion of us and that we will have the opportunity in the future to regain your confidence in our Resort.

With reference to your comment on the road situation, we are happy to advise that there are currently two projects taking place in Bali to improve traffic flow and alleviate congestion. We do look forward to the completion of these projects which will ensure a smoother and quicker journey to Seminyak from Jimbaran.

Until then I remain with warm regards from the island of the gods.
