This hotel is beautiful in every way. Staff are exceptional. Attention to detail is superb. Rock bar is awesome. Hotel grounds are stunning. Pool areas gorgeous. infinity pool breathtaking. private beach is lovely but not very usable due to rough seas. great for pictures though. Can feel a little isolated but a 20 min taxi ride will take you into Kuta and to return to the tranquility of Ayana is wonderful. It is however, very expensive- cocktails $13 aus, bintang beer 7.50, dinner for 2 at kisik $200 (we did have rock lobster) the setting for Kisik is beautiful with real sand on the floor overlooking the sea but I wouldn't go back. Whilst staying at Ayana expect to pay what you would here in Perth Australia and then you wont be shocked at the. One big gripe $20 per day for Internet. Would I go back. In a heartbeat.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely. We saw the private villas and they are amazing. We had a standard room and...

We stayed here on a family vacation with our 9 year-old son. We liked the fantastic view from the cliff top, many restaurant choices, cliff side bar and pool area and great service staff. However, our son was disappointed that he was not able to use the amazing cliff side pool as it was for adults only. There is limited beach area at the resort to explore safely as it is peppered with rocks. Our room was spacious and comfortable but it was slightly dated. The main pool area with water slides for kids was a bit old looking as well, especially as compared to other similar resorts we have stayed in. There were limited organised kids' activities at this resort too. Overall, it was a great place to relax in but families with kids may find it rather uninteresting.

I stayed at the Ayana in the first week of March 2013. The property is a 20 minute drive from Denpasar airport. Entering the property gives you an idea of the size of the place, its huge! The views of the ocean from the property are amazing and the rooms spacious and well equipped.
The various pools in the property are amazing but i liked the infinity pool by the rock bar the best. The Rock bar itself is very famous and attracts tourists from all over Bali for a drink or two in the evenings.

We were unfortunately there on business so did not have a lot of time to enjoy all the facilities the resort had to offer. But it was great that the pools are open round the clock as well as the jacuzzi.
The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful.
Tip, if you dont like walking too much, ask for a room close to the reception.

Room Tip: There are rooms closer to the pools but they are far from the reception and main entrance

This is a very belated review but i couldnt help but contribute, because i had the most amazing time at Ayana Resort and Spa. I stayed there in March 2011 with a friend through a MyBali.com package which included flights etc. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this resort. The room (garden view deluxe i think) was beautiful. The huge four poster bed was the most comfortable bed i think i've ever been in. The resort itself is so beautiful, walking around everyday i couldnt believe the scale of it, and how every part was gorgeous. The pool's are beautiful, the resteraunts are situated wonderfully with amazing views from every point of the resort. Food slightly pricey, but appropriate for the resort. Obviously if you can afford the room rate the food isnt really a big deal. The real highlight of this resort for me was the breakfast. We had ours included, and if you can afford it, i would DEFINATELY not miss it. It's nothing short of spectacular. It has any food you could imagine, fresh coconuts opened daily and an open kitchen with the friendliest chefs who will make you anything you want on the spot!
Rock bar is breathtaking. Obviously. The view would make it beautiful however the design, the food, drinks, music and general environment make it an experience i will never forget.
Ayana's spa is internationally known as the best. And it's right. We paid for a package which included a body scrub, body wrap, massage and reflexology including lunch and an hour session in the Aquatonic pool. It took about 3-4 hours. It's probably the closest you will ever get to being treated like a celebrity. The staff at the hotel really made this holiday for me. Everyone is exceptionally lovely, helpful and amazing at their job. We changed our flight to a day early, and we were concerned because we'd organised it through MyBali that we couldnt contact our agent. However reception handled the whole thing for us within minutes, and we were booked for a flight within 4 hours. Could not have been happier.
I would definately return! I would reccomend Ayana for any traveller at any age, however I went with my friend and i think Ayana is just such a romantic place, I wish i could have shared it with my partner.

Room Tip: Our room was a bit of a walk however we had a beautiful view of the gardens and the ocean from a dis...

My husband, brother, sister-in-law and I stayed here for 3 short days after a cruise. The entire place was amazing. The staff knew of us as the card players very quickly. We were allowed to play in an unopened restaurant that overlooked the ocean and the staff was unbelieveably friendly. With several restaurants to choose from and beautiful pools and views, we saw no reason to leave. (we had hired a driver to show us around the island upon arrival....the rest of Bali is beautiful as well).
We didn't have what anyone would call a spectacular room, we overlooked the par 3 golf course, but the view was pleasant and our sleep was never disturbed by lawnmowers or other maintenance.
The service was amazing from the moment we arrived until we departed. At each restaurant we were seated when there was a beautiful view.
We all feel we need to return for a longer stay.

Room Tip: I don't think it's possible to pick a bad room.

It is hard to describe the standards of this resort. Very high? that won't be high enough. The staff is amazing, the service is unbelievable. The most amazing bar - Rock Bar, you have to come and see the sun set here. One 'must go' place in Bali would be the Rock Bar. We'll be back for sure

I stayed at Ayana for a week on an international conference, the rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The setting is fantastic, with amazing views - sundowners at the Rock Bar are a must! There are lots of activities at the resort, with several pools, yoga and an amazing spa! The beach is beautiful, but quite a walk down several stairs.
There are a lot of stairs, and the hotel is spaced out over quite a vast area, so if you have trouble walking, it's not ideal.
