“Balinese style resort! In beautiful gardens right on the beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We have been going in to stay at the Bali Intercontinental resort for years. It is one of the resorts world wide that never lets you down.We stay in it's club section which is where your holiday starts from your transport pick up.
You have express check in to your room from the beautiful club lounge. The club service is amazing. Fabulous kids club available for free. Breakfast available from any of its buffet areas or you can have a la cart cooked for you in either the inside or outside club areas.Tea,coffee soft drinks free all day and at 3 pm High tea is served every afternoon. From 4pm till 7.30pm its free cocktails either in the more formal club lounge or out by the pool. The cocktails are fantastic! Any fancy cocktail made promptly or some of the best bubbles or wines are yours for the choosing. While you enjoy your cocktails inside the kids can go free to the kids club for dinner . If you choose to have your cocktails poolside the children will be taken care of with delicious crepes and their choice of any juices or soft drinks.
Though it is not a new hotel the rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable.Staff go above and beyond to please any family. Never in your face but seem to just appear when you may need anything.
The gardens of the resort are magic! Manicured garden by day and thousands of candles give it a fantasy feel at night.Sitting in the hotels Sunset Bar on the beach is THE only place in Bali to be come sunset. You can walk the beach, take in the smells of the night market's lobsters cooking in the beach side cafes or settle down with your camera to capture the best sunset photos in the whole of Bali.

Room Tip: The club is the way to go! So many extras!

I guess you get what you pay. I love this hotel, especially the pool area. It has lots of different pools, all makes me want to jump right in!

The restaurants were great! We got to choose different restaurant everyday for breakfast. I also had dinner in the restaurant near the pool area, which was amazing!

Staffs were nice and helpful, area was clean... the design takes out real balinese characteristics but make it modern for comfort.

The hotel also has a lot of activities for when you just want to stay in the resort! There is nothing boring about this place.

One note is: the price can be really high. But I guess it's worth the comfort and relaxation you will have.

A. This place is no good for indians
B. Service is quite bad (including special requests like peaceful room etc.,)
, i had to sign for a whisky that i had not taken
C. Hotel charges for extra things without considering
D. The last day at your stay would be bad, because they don't treat you well
E. Reception is crap and they cannot smile, you can feel it as government office
F. Noisy and no peaceful because of renovation is going on.
H. A/C - rooms and Aircon is quite old and it doesn't work. 24 C is the lowest temp i could feel.

Good if you consider
A.if you wish to spend good amount of money.
B.Travel agents and ground men working there are good.
C.Beach,Breakfast ( if you like same thing everyday),sunset drink place is good.

I don't think i can go to this place again, because they don't earn the customer service quality!

THEY ARE NOT UP TO THE EXPECTATION.

Room Tip: It is up to traveler how much he can spend. if you spend more than 300 SGD you may get a good room...

The Intercontinental Bali Resort in Jimbaran was our last hotel before heading home after staying in Nusa Dua, Ubud & Seminyak.

Location - Close to the airport but allow plenty of time as the traffic is chaotic & heavily congested.

The hotel is located on the beachfront overlooking Jimbaran Bay & few minutes walk along the beach to all the famous seafood restaurants.

Arrival - All went accordingly to plan & we were greeted warmly by the staff.

Room - Our Singaraja Room 4125 was spacious overlooking the gardens & very well located to the swimming pool & beach. However; after being upgraded to villa's in all our other hotels in Bali our room was disappointing.

Although the Singaraja rooms do come with their own Reception serving complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and cookies as well as featuring a stocked library of DVDs, board games and newspapers.

The room had a small balcony & all the modern facilities one needs for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was extra roomy with a lovely walk-in shower.

Facilities - The best aspect of this hotel is the very large deep swimming pool which overlooks the ocean. There are also numerous other pools which were equally appealing. Plenty of restaurants available to suit all tastes.

There are several tented pavilions positioned around the hotel grounds where Spa treatments are available. Also there are numerous tours & activities available from bicycle tours to music lessons.

Overall- We loved Nusa Dua & Seminyak Beaches & were slightly disappointed with Jimbaran Bay due to it not having waves. However; it would certainly suit families with small children.

The resort is very large with nothing else around it except a few seafood restaurants. If looking for a hotel away from the maddening crowds of Kuta or Legian then this hotel would be ideal.

Room Tip: ask for one closest to the beach & pool.

Stayed at the intercontinental Bali for 3 nights. Previously I have stayed at other large hotel in Nusa Dua and wasn’t sure about Jimbaran. However I was very happy with my choice at Intercontinental.
The hotel is big but still has a very intimate feeling, especially in the beautiful beach and ground. It never feels crowded at any point of the time.

Pro:

• Location: The hotel is right on Jimbaran beach. Very handy if you just arrive at Bali or need to depart.
• Room: good size and well appointed. Huge bed and extremely comfortable
• Internet: high speed and free everywhere in the estate
• F&B: very good options (including the best ever Room Service menu I’ve ever seen). Great breakfast
• Beautiful pools and ground, very green and clean
• Spa facilities are free of chrage
• Service: always with a smile, very consistent, and very charming

Con:
• You might need to rely on hotel restaurants which are expensive. However opposite the hotel there is a restaurant called Balique that is great. You can also walk to a Corner Shopping Mall that has few F&B outlet
• Quality of massage treatment wasn’t top.
• For a light sleeper, the lighting devise on the ceiling (to get rid of mosquitoes) of the room could be a bit annoying.

Overall I rank this as one of the best international branded hotel at this scale in Bali. Much better than those I stayed at Nusa Dua.

If you are going to the airport I would also recommend using hotel's car instead of taxi

I stayed for 2 nights @ Club Room (wings 6000, Room #6302), checked in 2 to 4 November 2012. It was a nice stay at the best room in the hotel. The only minus is that my room balcony facing the helipad (garden), it would be perfect if the room is facing the ocean.
The room is huge (please see the picture) and clean. but it has a creepy painting on the wall. I think it's abstract, but dont bother with that. The service is excellence and fast. What I like about this hotel is that my favourite seafood restaurant (Manega) it's just next door. Just walked along the beach and you will see a stretch of restaurant in jimbaran bay.
If you stay in Club room, you are entitle with private pool in club house. It's different pool than the regular hotel pool.
For the breakfast, it's a little bit below expectation, the variants are standard.
All and all... it's great!

Room Tip: Choose room that the building near lobby, because the lobby is the central to find the pool, lounge...

After we checked out from Hyatt Nusa Dua we booked end of last month (October 2012) through internet one night stay at the Intercontinental Bali resort.

We booked at the intercon because our friends stayed there. we booked at the Club Intercon.

But the night before after our visiting our friends at the intercon we encountered (very) bad service from the taxi call outside the hotel. Around 11pm we asked to get a taxi for us. They asked us to wait but after 15 minutes they mentioned there are no taxis and if that they will bring us to the street side to get a taxi up there. I was there with my fiancee and we were quite taken...I asked if they can not get a taxi for us by asking the security at front gate to get one for us. They said they can not communicate with the front gate security. So they brought us with the buggy to the street side. After some complaint to the security officer they mentioned to place the complaint to the hotel. I told them I would! It was by then 11.30pm and fortunately we got a taxi. We explained to the (bluebird) taxi driver what happened and he explained that Intercon "boycott" taxi (meter) drivers... probably to sell their own transportation (we encounter that the next day when we order the previous night with a bluebird taxi but they gave us a hotel transportation).

the next day after we checked-in I told the issue to the assistant manager and she would look in to it but did not came back to us.

For the staying;
The hotel rooms are "old" but maintained well. The service is as expected for a 5 star++ very good. Good access to clubhouse swimming pool and beach. Free flow of drinks between 5pm and 7pm at the clubhouse swimming poll is nice. Food is average (they have to improve the Cesar salad) the breakfast at the clubhouse is good.
The quality of service at the club-house and pool is as expected very good for a 5 star++ hotel.

My advice to Intercon is to look into their end-to-end service SOP. What happened to us may not happened. They treat us like a "motel" guest. I and my fiancee is in the service industry and we don't accept these kind of treatment.

Therefore my rating is average (-) for this hotel and I might not stay at this hotel anymore.
