Description: A must-see for every visitor to Bali, this open-top bar is located on natural rocks 14 meters above the Indian Ocean at the base of AYANA's towering cliffs. Accessed via an inclinator, the Rock Bar is a spectacular feat of architecture and engineering. Inside tip: Sunset views are amazing but the night-time ambience is equally magical and less crowded under a star-lit sky. Don’t forget the Dress Code.

“Great place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

I've heard this place for long time but didn't have the chance to went there before so while we're stayed at RIMBA, we decided to see it.
Love it but we came to early so it was very hot and everyone used umbrella to cover them from the sun. Should come there around 5pm+ but you need to reserve first if you come around that time, because if you arrive there almost time for sunset, the place is more crowded.
We left the place almost 5pm and the queue was twice longer than when we arrived.

“The View”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

This place is magic only the view, the location and the best sunset you can see in Bali. The que to the Bar is nonsense. you have to come earlier like 4.30 to manage to go down and way too long to wait for your drinks and seat. If you not staying in the Hotel you will get crab service by waiting to long to go down and too long to go up.

“Lovely sunset”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

Just visited this place on 24th July. Thanks to all the reviews from Trip Advisor my partner and I decided to arrive by 3.30pm. We did not really need queue up for long. However the staff had no congruency for dress code. They told me that I needed to wear long pants instead of short pants (lucky I have prepared beforehand). As I entered, and as the evening goes, I was surrounded with guests with short pants and slippers. This kinda pisses me off because it took an effort to change and time.

The view is spectacular. The cocktails was just ok. Don't think they have very good mixologist as they used to have maybe. Expensive too. Try the chicken popcorn which is really worth the price. The bar also refills their complimentary snacks which is great.

Service is good.

Tip: if you don't want to wait for escalator just opt for the staircase. That you don't have to wait and queue at all.

Tip 2: remember to bring extra attire just in case the staff becomes incongruent with dress code again. All in all they should be quite ok as long as you're dressed. Depends on your luck I guess.

Dear ‘kon t’,

Thank you for visiting Rock Bar Bali and for your constructive feedback.

I will share your comments with the whole team so that we are consistent in applying the dress code: no boardshorts, no alcohol-branded clothing and no tanktops for men. I am glad you enjoyed the views, service and tapas, and I will review the quality of our cocktails with our Beverage team to ensure they maintain their high standards.

Best Regards,

Manik Sudharsana

“Only thing good was the view”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Captivating views! However we missed sunset at the Rock Bar due to the incredibly long que and prioritisation of in house guests.
Once we made it down to the Rock Bar we were rudely spoken to by staff - we had 5 people and they said we could not sit at one of the smaller tables to which we were told had a maximum seating of 4 (which require to order one drink per person in order to sit their also). They refused to allow us to pull up an extra chair to accommodate our 5th person. The waiter then suggested that we move to one of the lounges which require a minimum spend of $1,200,000 Rupiah (about $120 Australian) otherwise we had to sit downstairs. Just thought this was incredibly shifty and rude - all about making a dollar not about facilitating the enjoyment of customers - terrible customer service. It was not like it was very busy being 9.00 at night.

Dear ‘Rose A’,

I apologize for the unsatisfying experience during your visit to Rock Bar, and thank you for your patience whilequeuing.

I will share your feedback with the team so that we can review and improve our service to ensure all staff uphold our philosophy and values. In regards to the minimum spend, we do apply this on the daybeds at the Top Bar, as the most popular venue for guests.

Best Regards,

Manik Sudharsana

“Spectacular view and good bar food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

Staying at the hotel lets you cut the long que to get to the bar. It's a must see if you are staying at the hotel simply because it's one of Bali's popular destinations and it's at your door step.

The weather plays a big part in the enjoyment of the rock. Don't bother coming if it's too hot or raining. Sun set in end July is perfect. Breeze is cool and the temperature is just right.
