“Most Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

We stayed for 3 days at the Shaba. The suites are extremely spacious and beautifully designed. The Hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and although their English is a bit lacking. Altogether is was a marvellous experience due to the fact that you feel like a millionaire living in a beautiful villa with your own butler.

The Shaba is like no other place I have ever seen and without a doubt it is worth going for the decor alone. The owners have spared no expense to make this French provincial mansion magical. The sarongs and beach bags in the bedrooms, bath salts and lovely cosmetics were a nice touch. We had a wonderful time here and despite the gripes I would still highly recommend staying here for the experience. Despite this, the service needs to be improved for the price, you are certainly paying for the setting not the service. An introduction of where things are and how things work in the villa would be handy when you arrive and check in. Apart from one of the girls there (Sweda) the other villa staff were very unmotivated to assist and struggled to communicate. They require a lot of training to improve their skills. When you could get across what you wanted it took ages to come, even simple things like a beer. The front desk staff were fine though and made any requested arrangements promptly. The fridge was broken the entire time we were there with no attempt made to repair it and unfortunately this meant that all of our drinks were warm. An honesty system in the kitchen for after hours would also work well and make guests feel more at home if they could help themselves to snacks and drinks. The showers also have very little hot water and just turned off after a couple of minutes which was annoying but as it was hot we weren't that bothered. Breakfast was great but I'd suggest lunch or dinner up the road at Balique restaurant (also owned by The Shaba) only a few minutes walk away where the drinks are also cold and the food is delicious. :) I would go back to The Shaba but it seems a bit of a shame that such a fabulous location and venue is let down by average service and a few small things which could easily be improved by the owners. The spa was fantastic, the staff were friendly and thorough.

I booked the entire Shaba to celebrate a special birthday and the entire experiece was far beyond my expectations at every point. The design of this property is stunning and yet so comfortable. The facilities are excellent but it is the special attentiion to detail and the service that is memorable. We were pampered all day everyday and the staff could not have been better. In all it represents great value for money, but it really is a money can't buy experience. This is an oasis of joy and I can't wait for my next birthday.

My husband & I were in Bali last October, we decided to give The Shaba a try .... Oh my word, what a fabulous little gem! It is located in a quite busy Jimbaran but when you are in the villa area, you don't hear nothing but peaceful & quiet place! This villa has only Two Junior Suite and one President Suite, the villa itself is heavily decorated with an old/antique kind of furnitures down to light bulb, old telephones and etc. The decoration is quite Moorish kind of style and a buduoir style in the ensuite bathroom. All in all, our stayed at The Shaba is one of the most relaxing time ever and still feeling fabulous on the same time. PS It is not for a family with a young children type please! One last thing, ladies please bring your own hair dryer as the villas one is not powerful enough (that's the only think I am not happy about it, LoL) I think if they could replace it that's great!

What an amazing villa! From the moment we walked towards the verandah with marble columns & into the ornate courtyard we were treated like a king & queen. We were fortunate to have the villa to ourselves for the first 3 nights & were overwhelmed with the service we received from Mina & the rest of the staff. The bedroom was huge & beautifully decorated, the attention to detail was amazing. So luxurious & so clean. The dining room is stunning. The pool is refreshing. Every sense was tantalized, the spa was wonderful, we were pampered & treated by all staff with the utmost respect. You have to experience this accommodation for yourself. Words can not describe how wonderful & relaxing this villa is. We definitely will be back & will call The Shaba our home away from home. You should be proud :)

Incredible rooms even too big and nice to be true. Spectacular service and home-made breakfast. Wonderful dedicated pool and kitchen/living room. Very good location, too bad it is not on the beach. Could be very good for ceremonies.

We stayed next door at Villa Balquisse and this is under the same ownership. Popped over for an inspection and this place is out of this world. The decoration, the gardens, the pool, the furnishings are all incredible. So elegant and amazing. My dream is to stay here with family and book the entire property. There was no one staying when we visited yet the staff on site were so lovely and kind and let us look around without hinderence. If you want a luxury experience out of the norm look here. We took so many photos, at every turn something beautiful and you will feel like you are in Vogue Living.
