“Nice place if you don't mind primitive room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2011

As others have noted, the grounds are impressive for a budget accommodation. The room we were given was on the ground floor and we had a feeling that we would be sharing with rats, mice, roaches and the like. However after two nights we were still blissfully alone. Don't expect a television or minibar or any such luxury. It is true that the rooms could be cleaner and better cared for ... our sheets were heavily stained.. Some of this may be the price of authenticity.

Bad, bad quality for your health and money. The rooms are very very filthy and the smell is unbelievable!

I think we must have been blinded by the stunning grounds as we walked through the property, because although we looked at the room prior to check-in, it wasn’t until we were getting settled that I noticed how awful it was! We had also been looking for accommodations for a couple of hours and were ready to get settled, so that may have played a part as well.

This gorgeous property is beautifully landscaped but unfortunately has a different story going on inside the rooms. As it started to get dark, we noticed two different burned out light bulbs, along with dingy and fraying lampshades. My husband went to pull the curtain closed and it about came off in his hand, and the bathroom was downright hideous. No windows, no ventilation, a broken toilet base and a big, nasty stain of some sort in the shower. We went for a night swim and the staff couldn’t locate or turn on the pool lights for us. Overall, we made the best of it but checked out the next morning.

All in all, there are several better options in the area. I would not recommend, this place needs a face lift!

We stayed at Artini III for three nights and while I liked the location, and the outside seems well maintained and aesthetically pleasing, I found the rooms to be dirty and unpleasant. I think that my expectations are reasonable - clean sheets and towels, rubbish emptied, bugs kept at bay if possible and rooms cleaned after each guest checks out. However the sheets were soiled, towels were thin and flimsy, our bathroom cupboard has used cotton buds and rubbish in it and our bed had bed bugs!! With some TLC the hotel could be bought up to scratch, it is in a great spot, has nicely sized rooms and is a pretty building, but should be more hygienic and the bathrooms could use a good once over or a renovation.

We got a reference for this place from our driver. The entrance was beautiful with lush paddy fields to our right. The check-in staff however seemed a bit lost and it took us forever to get our luggage from the reception up to our room. The room was spacious and had an amazing serene view of the hotel's pool and paddy fields beyond its compound. However we found that hygiene was a problem, the bed sheets looked a little soiled and dirty and the bathroom was leaking. Looked like the place needed a renovation.

We stayed here 3 nights to visit UBUD. It is located near the center of Ubud, in the rice fields with a nice vieuw. There is a free shuttle bus to bring you arounf Ubud. The staff is quite friendly. The remarks that we had: we asked to to laundry, which was delivered much later than expected, the driver tried to sell as an overexpensive spa, we had some noise from the television of the room above. That are all small remarks; the main remark is that the bathroom was heavily outdated and not very clean. It was ok, and we enjoyed our stay, but I guess there is better value to be found.

When in Ubud; do take the bycicle tour with ECO, that was magnificent!

A very nice small hotel in the middle of the rice fields in Ubud. All rooms have a nice view of the surrounding nature. Rooms are spacious, perhaps lacking a bit of atmosphere. Very quiet, nice pool, nice architecture. Very helpfull staff - they can arrange anything you want! Breakfast: very tastefull bananapancakes... heavenly!
Stayed here for 4 days and would stay here again without a doubt!
