“Cycle tour from Ubud”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

Bali 2000 cycletours from Ubud. Our family ,2 teenagers and 2 adults had a lovely day on bicycles downhill from Kintamani to Ubud. We were picked up by our guide Sandy (very punctual) and driven up to the rim of the volcano where we had a second breakfast enjoying the view. Shortly after perfect bikes were waiting for us and off we went. Through rice-fields, orange plantations, through peaceful winding roads, visited a small family-compound. Sandy was the perfect guide, welcoming, honest, good humour and with interesting cultural information on Bali and the Balinese way of living. We ended the tour with being served a superb lunch in Sandy's family compound, what a fantastic gesture and treat. Do not miss this chance of a perfect day in the country! You don´t have to worry about traffic, on the few stretches on main road the cars and other traffic were very considerate towards us cyclists. Thanks for a lovely day, hope to be back another day and hen we most certainly will take another tour.

“Wow! Definitely do this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

This tour was, in a word, fantastic! We had originally decided on doing a similar tour with another company, but the day before we had hired a driver (who was lots of fun and not pushy) and mentioned to him that we wanted to do a cycle tour. He knew Pasek and told us all about his tour, so we took a punt and went with him. We found Pasek (guide/owner) extremely knowledgeable about anything we asked him and he was a really genuine man. The tour begins with breakfast overlooking the beautiful volcano (although we skipped this as we'd already eaten) and uses the older, less used roads which, given the traffic on the main roads, was perfect. There was hardly any traffic in fact - just the odd motorbike (apart from a small part of the tour which passed through a town). It was also mostly downhill, so don't be put off thinking you're not fit enough or too old - I'm pretty unfit and would do it again in a heartbeat! The bikes were all close to new and well maintained and Pasek made sure the size was just right for us. Helmets and bottled water were also provided. We were the only 2 on the tour and he told us that they personalise any tour to suit it's participants - all we had to do was say what we wanted. We stopped for photos whenever we wanted and visited homes along the way, a coffee and spice plantation (tried all the different coffees and spice teas - yum!), rice paddies - we even got to try cutting and thrashing the rice, mingling with the workers. Pasek has terrific English, so things don't get lost in translation. The tour ended at his house where his wife had prepared the most wonderful lunch (all very clean and REALLY delicious!) We even met some of his family, who he was very proud of. This was a truly amazing day - it's far removed from the commercial side of Bali. I recommend anyone who can ride a bike (even with limited ability!) to do this - you won't be sorry. Just fabulous 5 stars Pasek!

“The most excepional easy going cycling tour around Ubud”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

We picked Bali2000 cycling tour actually by accident, and it was a very nice surprise what we received. Sandy, our tour guide, was smiley, knowledgeable and very flexible during the tour (and not so pushy what u get quite sometimes in Asia). We passed by amazing scenery, saw rice paddies, little bit of jungle and beautiful local villages. The tour is easy going, downhill for the most part, not much of a biking experience is necessary. Sandy was very knowledgeable about the istorz and the surroundings of the tour.Very patient and accommodating.Excellent service food and a true value for money. We would highly recommend this tour. Leana and Andrew from South Africa and Hungary.

“Magnificent Downhill Cycling Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

We have just returned from a wonderful cycling tour through the balinese villages and the rice paddies, guided by Sandy. We were just the two of us so it was a "private tour"!
Picked up even before the agreed time we first went to a botanical garden with all kinds of plants and herbs, where they also roasted the coffee, a.o. the "Luwak" coffee. Sandy explained everything and every question we had very well. Breakfast was served on Kintamani mountain, overviewing Lake Batur. Unfortunately the volcano could not be seen because of the clouds. After a great meal we cycled through nice narrow roads with great views of the local villages and rice paddies. We visited a local family to see how they live and work. After the cycling tour, which lasted altogether 3,5 hours (but was not difficult to do), we ate a wonderful meal at the house of the guide's family. Thank you Sandy and Nyoman! Love from Nicolette and Jan van Winsen (NL)

“Great time, great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

We took the Bali Downhill Cycling Tour. Our guide was Mr. Nyoman Pasek (Guide/Owner) and he was really great! It was a nice, fairly easy ride. We had six in our group--2 families of three--all friends from KL, Malaysia. The ride was beautiful and interesting. At the end they had a great home-style meal prepared for us at the owner's house! In my opinion, the meal was the best one I had in Bali. It was a great way to see the real Bali and I highly recommend this tour to anyone.
