“With children, definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Our 5 yr old insisted on visiting the park and we weren't sure what to expect, we didn't want to spend our precious holiday time seeing something we could see at home. We loved it! While the park is not very large, plan to spend at least 4 hours here. There are free shuttle busses from several locations on Bali but not all tickets give access to the shuttle, plus, we didn't want to be limited to the departure times of the shuttle. Instead, we flagged down a Blue Bird taxi (metered) and it took about 35 minutes from Sanur. Once we got to the park, the driver said he would be willing to wait for us the whole afternoon for an additional $5, which we thought was very convenient. We bought the cheapest entry ($39 per person) and decided that if we wanted to add extra activities, we could decide that on the spot inside the park. We did not see the fun zone, water park or the dance show. We loved the bus safari, who knew they have so many interesting animals in this park, they take you through the area of Indonesia, Africa and Asia, includes elephants, giraffe, rhino, hippo, zebra, lion, tiger, tapir and many more. You walk through the rest of the park, and the setting is beautiful, very green and with many beautiful artistic touches and Balinese details. Some of the animals are quite free, such as the macaw they can wander outside of their enclosure, and the baby orangutan (at the photo opportunity) is allowed to swing into the trees freely and in fact can be quite naughty with the visitors. There are some additional activities that you can pay for on the spot, they cost $5 each: a photo with an orangutan, a photo with a small tiger, a camel ride. There are elephant rides but I am not sure how much they cost. We enjoyed the animal educational show very much, it included many native animals and our daughter loved every minute of the approx 20 minute show. We had lunch in the Lion restaurant, with views of the lions behind glass, and this was good and average priced, spotless bathrooms with baby changing facilities. Prior to leaving, we looked at the aquarium right at the main bus platform and this was quite impressive, they have huge tanks that look very natural. All in all it was an enjoyable day and the staff were helpful and informative. If you have kids in your group, it is worth a visit.

“Small but is Balinese style safari”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Located in Gianyar about an hour from Kuta, is nice to visit Bali in different ways (not only the beach). They have a lot of animal collections and the show. Recommended.

“Great Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Awesome park to visit, varied prices to packages to enter, we had the $49 each package which allows the educational tour, elephant show and bus journey ride. the animals look very happy and healthy, the park has a stunning setting and you really get a great opportunity to see the animals in their natural environment. there is also a water park there but we didn't use. the restaurant is very nicely set out with so many options to choose from. clean toilets.

“Good day, but a little disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Overall we had a good day at the park, it was raining most of the day so didn't go to the water park. We enjoyed the elephant show although it was overcrowded and many were standing, had photos with the orangutan and wandered around the few animals that were there. We upgraded our safari bus ride to a private jeep for our group, which was really worth the money. The safari bus just drives through the park with no interaction with the animals, but the private jeep stops and we could feed and even touch the animals. The upgrade is not really advertised and can be bought at the entrance before you go in, where you will get a time and place to be picked up later in the day. The cost was about another $10 per person and really was the best part of the day. The restaurant was okay, although by the time we got there they were running out of choices. I have been once now and it really didn't inspire me to return, although I can see the attraction for families with young children.
