Our 5 yr old insisted on visiting the park and we weren't sure what to expect, we didn't want to spend our precious holiday time seeing something we could see at home. We loved it! While the park is not very large, plan to spend at least 4 hours here. There are free shuttle busses from several locations on Bali but not all tickets give access to the shuttle, plus, we didn't want to be limited to the departure times of the shuttle. Instead, we flagged down a Blue Bird taxi (metered) and it took about 35 minutes from Sanur. Once we got to the park, the driver said he would be willing to wait for us the whole afternoon for an additional $5, which we thought was very convenient. We bought the cheapest entry ($39 per person) and decided that if we wanted to add extra activities, we could decide that on the spot inside the park. We did not see the fun zone, water park or the dance show. We loved the bus safari, who knew they have so many interesting animals in this park, they take you through the area of Indonesia, Africa and Asia, includes elephants, giraffe, rhino, hippo, zebra, lion, tiger, tapir and many more. You walk through the rest of the park, and the setting is beautiful, very green and with many beautiful artistic touches and Balinese details. Some of the animals are quite free, such as the macaw they can wander outside of their enclosure, and the baby orangutan (at the photo opportunity) is allowed to swing into the trees freely and in fact can be quite naughty with the visitors. There are some additional activities that you can pay for on the spot, they cost $5 each: a photo with an orangutan, a photo with a small tiger, a camel ride. There are elephant rides but I am not sure how much they cost. We enjoyed the animal educational show very much, it included many native animals and our daughter loved every minute of the approx 20 minute show. We had lunch in the Lion restaurant, with views of the lions behind glass, and this was good and average priced, spotless bathrooms with baby changing facilities. Prior to leaving, we looked at the aquarium right at the main bus platform and this was quite impressive, they have huge tanks that look very natural. All in all it was an enjoyable day and the staff were helpful and informative. If you have kids in your group, it is worth a visit.
