Stayed at the new year eve weekend on overpriced rates at this resort.

Only good about hotel which claims to be 5 star is that it does maintain a basic 3 star standard and good fort concept. No where near 4 star and there are many better alternatives in mussorie at higher price like this.

Checkin was quick but front desk staff defiantly need more training.

Before arriving they confirmed that new year party charges will be extra and optional on arriving but asked to pay for new year party charge on checkin only,when I told them it was communicated as optional pay only if I attend they refused it wasn't
When I shown them the confirmation they said ok!
On checkin they informed your room was upgraded to higher one was excited ,however when I entered the room it was just basic standard old look since in a fort which make me wonder if that's the upgrade where I was going to in the first place.

It was dec end new year eve and was too cold in mussorie the heating they provide in the room was pathetic and does not even warm the room for 2 hrs being inside the room, when asked the reception to either replace or provide better i was told this is what they have keep it switch on always and room will be warmed in sometime,however struggled with cold first ngt when I insisted for replacement I was told all the other guest are also having the same heater in the room!

So if you are travelling from a tropical country to a hill station in winter peak a basic heater in the room is not you expect, when insisted to talk to manager than only provided with a make shift old blower.

They insist for all the advance payments of new year party even when they have credit card authorisation unlike other standard hotel.
When asked front desk why such policy no reply only a blank look.


Breakfast was good ,views were good,new year party was good.
New year complimentary cake was nice gesture only problem is they expect us to eat it with hands as no cutlery was provided when requested room service they didn't send ,called again was told room service is closed today because of new year party going to start.
When I told them please take your cake back as you can't expect us to eat it just like that than only cutlery was sent to the room.

Dj could have been better
Location not good need to hire a outside taxi everytime to go mall, no hotel shuttle no hotel taxi as such which are basic in any standard hotel.

Overall didn't liked and will not even consider this hotel again.

We stayed at Royal Orchid Fort Resort, Mussoorie for 3 nights with family. We were with our parents and the resort was well located, had great views of Doon Valley from our rooms, and the resort though not far from Mall Road (0.75 km walk), yet away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were very warm and friendly and took special care to ensure our comfort during the 3 days. Our package included breakfast and dinner and the food was very nice and buffet had enough variety to take care of all requirements - indulgent, healthy etc. :-). The resort has nice lawns (the area on 6th level near the restaurant is very picturesque. The activity centre is also well provided and the badminton court was novel. Though it was very cold, the heating in the room kept us cosy. We had a 2 bedroom apartment booking and the hotel upgraded us to adj two dupleix rooms on the top (9th floor). The dupleix rooms are quite good for a family of four (with kids on the first floor of the suite. It also has a sit out balcony with pictuersque views of doon valley, gun hill etc. The resort is well recommended to anyone with family for a 3-4 day trip.

we stayed at this hotel for the new years. had a ball of a time amazing ambience and excellent service. a well organized show and an amazing buffet spread. the puppet show and the dhol on 31st with dj was an awesome combo. great job. highly recommended

I have stayed in Royal Orchid Fort Resort, Mussoorie for two night package with my wife and son. The ambieyance was supb, resort staff were friendly. They provided breakfast and dinner with the package and the same was gr8. The resort is having huge open area and special area of walk. The Resort is best in class.
