“Nice calm Place!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013 via mobile

Nice calm place. Perfect to relax after the very busy and chaotic ghats and the vity altogether. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food service with real nice Thali. Clean and good rooms around a courtjard. would definitely stay there again.

I will not comment more..because it will be simple words to describe teerth 's simplicity. A nice clean healthy place to stay. Enjoy the service and helping nature of staff. They truely care for matters affecting you.

this place is simple and calm. you will find simple staff and everything simple. But their consistent help and supports in business that suits hospitality is excellent. Staff are very friendly and obey things as instructed to them. They sometimes do extra work that is not part of their service just for our hospitality and well being.

Room Tip: you can find a newly furnished room on 3rd floor

Teerth House was a good place to stay in Varanasi . Its not easy to find, but worth it when you do.The staff there were so sweet, and the room was clean and had hot water.
Its tucked away in an alley which makes it a quiet spot off the street, very close to good food, shopping and of course Gangama.
The staff were very helpful, and the internet is right there .very sweet place to stay.

The people who work there are so kind and helpful. The place itself is relatively clean and amazing value for the price. They're buddies with Alka, so if you need directions, ask them or ask for Yogi Lodge - its right by there. Otherwise, it's kind of hard to find.

I arrived in Varanasi from Kolkata on an overnight train and needed to run the gauntlet of seriously crowded and narrow alleyways that were jam packed with Kumbha Mehla pilgrims. Unfortunately my wallet got lifted, which I discovered shortly after checking in. Panic ensued and these guys at the hotel, in particular the manager and his assistant bent over backwards to assist me in sorting out my little mess.

They even offered me food and room for free, trusting that I would make it right subsequently. Their patience and willingness to help demonstrated the best of Indian hospitality where the guest is treated like a family member.

The Alka Hotel is also owned by the same person and I used some of their services to make overseas calls.

Teerth has a very unassuming food service and no real restaurant. However there are tables up on the roof and tables on the balcony of each floor - as well as tables on the central courtyard on the ground floor. Their thalis are tremendous value for menu and should not be tackled unless seriously hungry. I would go back just for the thali!

The rooms are stacked three stories around an inner courtyard and the whole effect is one of peaceful ambience. Very charming.

The rooms themselves are basic but sufficient and the hot water was a pleasure after Kolkata. The hotel is not far from the main burning ghat (five minutes) and their are various other quality dining opportunities in the vicinity.

Teerth is a quiet haven in the midst of the wondrous old city and the staff will absolutely ensure your stay is a pleasant one. I warmly recommend it.

I was quite skeptical about my stay at Varanasi given that I was travelling alone and having heard of its legendary reputation!
But Teerth guest house made the experience just amazing!
I requested for pick up from Mughal sarai station, which I felt was a bit pricy, @ 650 rs for a mere 23 kms. But someone from the hotel came and guided me through the intricate, winding galis near Dashashwamedh ghaat to get me to the guest house, and once I was there, I was extremely grateful to them, since there I realized I would've had a crazy time finding the place myself!

It is located very close to the main Ganga Aarti ghaat, Kasi Vishwanath temple, Annapoorna temple. All walkable. The walk to the hotel, once you tune yourself to the wonderful craziness of Varanasi, is just too good! :)
I got all the help I needed, Someone from he hotel accompanied me to the ghaat the first time, to show me the way! And he even dropped me back to the main road when I left.
The staff was extremely helpful and yes, the rooms were clean, tidy and all I could have hoped for! TV was ancient with grainy reception, but it didnt really matter in light of the rest of the things!

It is right in the middle of the maze of alleys near meer ghaat and yet located in a quiet niche.
Boat trips can be organized through the sister hotel Alka at a reasonable rate, avoiding the haggling and arguing with boat owners!
They lock up the hotel entrance at night, so safety is good. Since it is located so close to the golden temple, there's plenty of police security around, round the clock.

The centrally located restaurant in-house serves some really yummy food! :)
Total value for money! I paid only 700 rs for this awesome stay!
A haven midst the wonderful madness of Varanasi!
