It is not really a lodge. It is the residence of Kautilya Society, a NGO for intercultural dialogue. It has a nice position on the banks of the river Ganges at the city centre. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. A good place for reading and writing. There is no restaurant but a fix menu breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of the room. The Society is working with the Municipality of Varanasi for preparing a conservation plan of the architectural heritage of the city. So if one is interested in these issues is the ideal place to get in contact with others.
It costs a little more then other guest houses of the area. But you can get very good deals if you stay for long periods.
