The worst place we stayed in India.
When they changed the name and renovated the reception, they apparently forgot to clean the rooms. Our bathroom was disgusting.
The room faced the wall, the windows did not open and air- conditioning was broken.
The service basically consisted of coming several times to our room with stupid excuses and insisting on tips.
The mice in the restaurant were just a minor issue compared to other aspects.
Just avoid if you can.

We arranged for a one night stay in this hotel via an Indian Travel Agent - for a 3 star rating this is well below the grade.

On arrival the staff are pleasant and the lobby most welcoming - however at this stage we had missed the great big whole in the ceiling!! Bar on ground floor also looked nice and inviting and we were looking forward to dropping off our bags and heading down for a well earned drink following the long, early morning drive from Ranthambore.

We were shown to our room by two porters who hovered around for a tip - on giving one of the men 2 x 100R notes and gesturing to him to share it with his colleague he promptly put them in his pocket and told his companion to get some more from us!! A third porter soon arrived to return our passports and again waited for a tip and then before we could close the door there was another knock with someone else offering some fruit and biscuits - also looking for some compensation on his way out!!

As for the accommodation - the lock to secure the door was hanging on with one screw and the room was not very clean at all. Side areas were not wiped down, beds very worn with sheets and blankets that also appeared to be well past their best (and were also in need of a wash), along with the furniture. The bathroom also left a lot to be desired - a phone was in place - it did however look very old and all wires were cut but were just left hanging out of the wall which was just above the sink. We also witnessed serveral bugs who had laid to rest in the bath!

No sooner had we arrived did we check out - only stay here if you really have no other option!!

We entered this hotel with great enthusiasm, that we will get some good Taj facing Room we had our reservation for Excusive room. But the hotel manager wisely gives us some rubbish room which has a good view of blind wall. On enquiring about this. This arrogant gentleman was trying to tell me that to get Taj facing room I have to pay Rs 3000 (Abut US 75 extra). But in fact the tariff of this room is not that much.
Since my stay was only one day I decided, not to raise my blood pressure and be satisfied with what I have got.
Room conditions are pathetic. All waiters are not willing to give any service unless you shell out good amount of tips.
Since it was summer, 75 percent of the hotel rooms were un-occupied, and central AC was un-operational. But manager was talking as if off season is our fault.

The smashed mosquito carcasses on the wall of the hotel room (complete with smeared blood from previous victims) should have tipped us off. Even with a view of the Taj (a dim view unless the wind is blowing or the natives start adding catalytic converters) at $50 for a double we were a bit bummed. Rotating restaurant has good food at fair prices, but way too much light inside the restaruant at dinner to see out - and there's that smog during the day. Marble floors, large room, friendly staff, clean but worn linens. You can visit the vintage fitness center at the nearby Hotel Amar for 45 rupees (no cardio but some weights that look like they were owned by Jack LaLane). Great masala chai at breakfast!
