“Nice property but service needs improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Spent a night here while on work. Property looks majestic and nice but service can be improvement . Capucino machine doesnt work....so no coffee available at the coffee shop. But i guess you get what you pay for. Next time would go for the ITC Mughal next door.

We stayed at the hotel and were just awestruck with the property and the amount of variety it had to offer. Very spacious rooms, great greenery around the property. The food however can be better. Taste - Nothing more than a normal restaurant taste.

Booked as part of a package, the Jaypee Palace Hotel came at the perfect interval. I had ridden from Delhi for several hours and gotten lost in Agra (a result of fatigue and stupidity on my part). The staff and accommodations at the Jaypee Palace eased my jangly nerves. The bed proved more comfortable than any I've slept in across three continents, and the spacious bathroom took the edge off a busy day. The highlight, though, was the first rate breakfast buffet. Well balanced, spicy, and filling, the breakfast fare set a great foundation for a long ride to Rajasthan.

We stayed at the hotel and were just awestruck with the property and the amount of variety it had to offer. Though the facade, reception and frontage of the property is very well maintained, rooms are quite a let down in terms of freshness, quality of experience. Expected a lot and ended with a basic hotel room which might be 2 stars lesser than Jaypee hotels.

The food was a big let down as well.
Spread - Very basic, nothing fancier than a 3 star hotel.
Taste - No brainer or nothing wow than a normal restaurant taste.
Hygiene - Very well maintained
Staff- Very courteous
Eagerness to help - Very limited, will do everything which is mentioned in the rule book charted by the hotel management, no extra mile efforts or going out of the way to please the guest.

Overall Experience
Property & Staff - Good
Food & Beverage - very or my be less than average

Room Tip: Take a higher category room if you want fancy stuff, it not the basic category is really very basic.

The grounds and public areas of the Jaypee Palace are lovely, but what goes on inside is not so lovely. Rooms are spacious, but tired looking with mattresses that are thin with a ratty looking rug on the floor. On the plus side is the flat panel TV (no CNN) and a nice balcony. On the negative side was the poor maintenance and filth. I was given a room that had no water coming out of the shower. When I complained they got a tricke of water to come out of a non-working showerhead. I spent three nights showering in my friend's room next door. The food at the breakfast buffet is terrible with few Western choices. For bread all you will find are some pathetic looking slices of white bread and stale tasting muffins and fruitcake. Food was better at the a la carte Pavillion Cafe. We also had dinner at their Chinese restaurant which was excellent.

However what is unforgiveable is the following. On the morning we were leaving the sheet came loose on my bed revealing a mattress cover stained with urine, vomit or worse. Disgusting!

My wife and I were upgraded to a palace room on our arrival and it was wonderful at first. The negatives were, annoyingly the air-conn didn't work well and although it was cold outside the room got very warm. We also beleive that the homemade ginger beer made us both ill and that was a real shame.
The hotel itself is huge and looks wonderful. It has great facilites and lovely restaurants but for a 5-star palace i was disappointed.

My stay at Jaypee was primarily official. While its a huge property, palace style, well maintained but somehow I wasn't too thrilled at it the while experience. Its actually is a maze if I needed to go from reception/elsewhere to my room. Buffet is a generous spread and they do have couple of restaurants as per cuisines you may choose from.

They have puppet shows happening during eve - not sure of it happens on all days. They have their own mini game zone where you can enjoy games like bowling, air hockey etc along and relish delicious bakes along as well.

It is centrally located, not far from main sights of tourist interests.
