“Outdated Hotel with Horrible Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2009

Being a fan of the ITC group , which runs the premium hotels, it was a big disappointment to enter into a hotel , which was very outdated in furniture , rooms and layouts, while mughal positions itself as a premium hotel, you should definitely look into , more modern hotels , available in the vicinity , with more features and lesser cost.
The rooms are from the 1980s and most of the furniture has cracks which are more or less visible .

We expected to have all our meals in the hotel, as ITC is known for its premium good restaurants, but, Mughal stands apart. On the frist night at Peshawari , the food was not only cold , but, was stale and weird. The restaurant , it seems does not have a proper quality system in place.

The staff , is least helpful and at the most of the restaurants, you tend to either get it yourself or wait for a abnormally long time , we waited for a good 30 min to receive our Capachinno .

I suggest this hotel only if you dont find reservation elsewhere.

Had a fantastic experience staying at the ITC Mughal in Agra last week - booked ahead online and was upgraded to a suite when we arrived. Were allowed to check in very early (9am) and check out very late the following day (4pm) thanks to Mr Dhirendra Kumar Sharma. We found every aspect of service to be of a high quality, and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Agra. Don't miss the outstanding Spa, there is a second outdoor pool, plus wonderful facilities for relaxing/sauna/jacuzzi etc.

The hotel itself is somewhat lacking in character. But it was absolutely fine for 1 night. Staff were pleasant, the room was a typical hotel room, Sheraton style, but with a curious low level curved mattress in one corner overlooking the garden. The pool was on the small side, gardens were pretty, security on the entrance gate was good and each vehicle was effeciently examined. However, we thought the restaurant was excellent. It was busy when we were there, but the service was good, and the choice of food was very good indeed. I would recommend this hotel to friends, but with a warning that, apart from the excellent Indan cuisine, you really could be anywhere. Again, as elsewhere in India, there were charges for internet use in the business centre

An excellent hotel with very nice rooms and excellent service. Our stay was particularly enjoyable as the butlers (Ila and Trevor) were always there to look after us and take care of the children.

It’s certainly a nice hotel with very good service all round, especially in the bar and restaurants. It’s also got pleasant gardens to get away from the craziness of Agra. The food in Peshawari was some of the best we’ve ever had in India and has a good reputation with the more affluent locals.
This all said for us there was just something missing. I’d suggest it was the fact that when coming to visit Agra and particularly the Taj Mahal you’re probably looking for a romantic time. If that’s the case then splash out for the Oberoi – having also stayed there it is very special – but come here for the restaurants.

Stayed at the Mughal for 2 nights in a deluxe suite. The external architecure of the hotel is very dated, but inside its lovely. The suite was perfect, very well appointed and with a view of the Taj Mahal - when the smog lifted. The staff were excellent with great attention to detail. Dinner in the Peshawri was memorable, lunch in the buffet restaurant very forgettable.

I stayed for one night in October 2009. Wonderful service from all staff, and the room itself was beautiful. I enjoyed all my meals, especially dinner at Peshawri...wow that was amazing! No need to repeat whats been said before so I'll keep it short with a "two thumbs up"!
