“Very nice hotel, close to Taj Mahal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

We came to the hotel around 10 am and there was no problem with early check in. The rooms was clean and need. Agra Trident is perfect for somebody who want to come for one or two days trip to see Taj Mahal and Red Fort, but is also nice for longer stay. The pool is nice, garden big. The hotel Management organize for us small swimming pool for our daughter! was really sweet from their side!
They provide us also a guide who show us Taj Mahal and Red Fort!
The minus of the hotel might be a bit the cleanest near swimming pool ( the pigeons who are living on the palms near pool make a bit mass, and even frequent cleaning doesn't help), and restaurant service was a little chaotic, but I can recommend this hotel with big pleasure, since we spend there nice time.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front part of building has the best view on the pool.

we stayed for two nights here and its so near to the Taj which is great. It was one of the more expensive hotels that we visited on our trip. Beautiful pool area a few more sun beds wouldnt go a miss. Very nice food and friendly helpful staff. The small shop even sells stamps!

Stayed at the hotel recently with my 2 year old. The front office, staff, restaurant, Kiddie area, open field, pool....you name it and its easiest to rate everything in one word ' exemplary'. The restaurant staff was so courteous and sensitive to my toddler's requirements. The staff patient and helpful. Rooms clean and well maintained. Next time in Agra, I will stay at the same property. Good Job, Trident!

The hotel is fabulous, the staff are all very good all speak English even the gardeners.
The restaurant for breakfast is everything a traveller could wish for, great variety for all nationalities.
Great pool, nice grounds.

My only criticism is the cost to use WiFi 10 pound's for the day or 4 pound's for half an hour.

The funniest thing thou is when we got to our next hotel on our 2 month tour of India, where the WiFI was free, we had received a welcoming e-mail from Trident hotel Agra. Not sure why the the send this considering the cost of there WiFi not many people log on to it until they have left.

However it is a nice hotel, food and drinks are pricey.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view, however the trees do obscure, unless you are on the second floor.

This is the first time I’ve written a review for Trip advisor, but thought that our recent experience whilst holidaying in India warranted the effort.
We have just completed (April 2013) a 2 week tour of India’s expanded Golden Triangle combined with a few nights relaxation in Kerala and a day tour of Mumbai – staying at:
Delhi - The Claridges Hotel
Varanasi - Jukaso Ganges
Agra - The Trident
Jaipur - Dera Mandawa
Kerala - Carnoustie Beach Resort
Mumbai - The Leela Kempinski
The whole tour (including guides and drivers at each location) was built around a personalised itinerary arranged by James Carpenter at Audley Travel - who did an excellent job and warrants a mention here - taking note of all our comments and suggesting venues and activities to suit our particular needs.
James made the process of planning the holiday very easy - despite the constant calls from us as we revised our ideas.
James kept us informed right through the process and when he had some concerns about one of the hotels we were given the opportunity to change it right up to the morning that we were due to fly.
I have completed reviews for each of the hotels above so please see my separate listings for them.
Below are my comments on

Agra – Trident (1 night)
The Trident is a fairly modern low rise hotel with public areas of a contemporary style.
The simple swimming pool set in the hotel’s manicured garden was a welcome relief from the heat of Agra.
We arrived at 08:00 after an overnight train journey from Varanasi and were keen to get booked into our room early and catch up on the sleep that we didn’t get on the train.
Yash on reception had a fantastic manner and (in between commenting on our camera and his own interest in photography) explained that rooms weren’t quite ready as they were still waiting for guests to check out, but invited us into the restaurant for coffee. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity to have some breakfast and enjoyed a good quality breakfast with a reasonably wide choice of European and Indian dishes.
Before we had finished our breakfast Yash was back to advise that the room was now ready and led us there.
Our room was pretty much what you would expect of a modern hotel of this standard with all the usual comforts including a very comfortable bed and set around a central garden and pool area. The room was located on the outside of the block and overlooked a pleasant outer garden.
We chose to eat out at a local restaurant (Pinch of Spice – very good, but huge portions so order with care) that evening so cannot comment on the choice or quality of the restaurant for dinner.

This hotel is great! The rooms, including the bathroom, are relatively small in size, but sufficient for the amount of time one spends in the room. The buffet is outstanding! The selections are varied, well monitored/maintained, and something for everyone on it. The location is excellent. Let's face it, you visit Agra to see the Taj Mahal, not necessarily be swimming in their swimming pool, as inviting as it looked. Unfortunately time didn't allow for a dip in the pool.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool has minimal disadvantage, you feel the need to keep drapes closed for privacy.

Stayed 2 nights in mid April & enjoyed our stay. This is a modern, well designed hotel--nothing Indian about it in style. It is very functional with modern reception & excellent staff. Good choice at breakfast-dined at local restaurant.Very clean rooms though not very spacious. We slept well. good to see a notice saying staff did not expect a tip.
