We were staying in the Agra Trident beginning of Sept. 2012. We stopped by the Hotel, negotiated a price for the night and went to the room. Unfortunately the room was smelling damp, moldy so we asked to change the room. In the second room the fuse blew as soon as we turned on the kettle. We requested to change the room again, as it was already past 23:00.
I know we are in a humid climate and it can get damp, but we have stayed in other 5* Hotels in India and we have not had this issue quite as bad.
I guess this was an unfortunate series of events, but there was no offer of compensation.
I have to point out the young staff was VERY helpful. There were two trainees who have just started (a boy and a girl) who were really nice.
To top it, I had arranged a rate for the night and my boyfriend paid the bill the next day. When I looked at the bill (later in the taxi) they had charged us more than what I had agreed with them.... too late we were on our way back to Delhi.
Rooms clean, bed comfy, breakfast was nice, dinner too, but overall stay disappointing.
