“Close to the Taj Mahal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

This hotel is located very close to Shilpgram, the starting point for the visit to Taj Mahal. The hotel is a decent property with adequate facilities for all kinds of travelers. The biggest issue I faced was the frequent tripping of electricity every few minutes. If the electricity is down for a long time then the phones & WI-FI stop working, so you need to be mentally prepared for this as the hotel staff cannot do anything about it. All they say is that the server is down & service will be restored in 15-20 mins.

There is a so called mini bar provided in the room but it is just for show as it is neither stocked nor in a working condition.

Food is of average quality & cost is reasonable but if you are in the mood for Chinese food then please go elsewhere unless you want to eat the same with a Punjabi tadka. Breakfast spread is quite nice & met my expectations.

Overall, if the cost is within your budget, you can stay there. However, there are many more hotels in the vicinity which are even more closer to the Taj. Hence, please check around before you finalize as there is nothing too exceptional about this particular property.

Room Tip: Look around for similar priced properties before you finalize.

Clean and quiet but as I work in this industry I can say it's overpriced. Wifi not efficient (receptionist didn't get codes to guest under the reason it was not working adequatly) in fact it was working but with a very low signal. It was Impossible to have change on 500 roupies. The staff is not efficient and cooperative for a 4 star, even in India. Very disappointed

What a disappointment this hotel turned out to be. The Internet photos look great, but don't look too hard if you're a structural engineer. I accept that building regs in India don't meet many international standards, but they haven't even tried to hide the poor quality here. The most obvious is the window glass and frames - very scary. It's a real shame because there's obviously been good intentions to the initial design to the building, but for such a new building it is let down by no air con in the corridors and stair wells, noisy rooms, unsuitable wifi connectivity for hotel usage and a restaurant serving the worst food I've had in 6 weeks of travelling in India.

We were originally put in the room directly under the laundry and 3 feet from a building site. After 90 minutes of machinery banging above and beside us we asked to be moved. The Reception asked us to wait another hour because the laundry would be closed by 6pm - this was only 1pm so we weren't that confident in their mathematical skills from then on. We insisted on being moved and within an hour were settled in above the kitchen, cooking smells waking us at 4am was a trade in we lived with.

I managed to get my exercise at least every 10 minutes when I needed to use the Internet, because this is about the maximum connectivity we could ever get in our room or sitting in reception - not that we could successfully explain that to the front of desk.

Staff abound here, but no one seems to be managing the team. We found the restaurant devoid of customers and atmosphere. The food was very below standard - the vegetables were from frozen, there was no flavour that you'd normally find from an accomplished chef and the wait staff were very in experienced and often forgot the order.

I definitely do not recommend this hotel. There are others within similar proximity to the Taj, if that's what you're looking for.

A warm welcoming ambience, courteous staff like Mr faisal and his team members made our stay worthwhile. Rooms were in excellent condition and had modern interiors, very spacious. food was also great. We look forward to coming back again.

Awesome hotel and very much near to Taj Mahal. Soundproof rooms, well furnished, neat and clean. Decent price for an International standard hotel. Food was really great, worth the money spent. Also, hotel staff was always welcoming and room service was quick. Do not miss the morning breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Try taking low numbers on first floor like 101/102 or 109/110. they are less noisy.
