“Grand courtyard style, nice lunch, average room”

This hotel is laid out in a courtyard style with the front desk, restaurants, bar, etc. in the main building and the rooms in villa clusters around a garden and fountain. The rooms are decked out in sort of period design and are generally spacious and comfortable. We found, however, that there was a tendency to miss details, such as a laundry bag to accompany the list and something as basic as a hotel service directory (and the suggestion of a tip from staff delivering same). We had pleasant breakfasts in their main restaurant and a tasty lunch in another. Bit noisy on a Saturday night, but it was wedding season.

Room Tip: Closer to main building and main restaurant.

The hotel's common spaces look sumptous and the grounds are really eye catching. However the rest of the hotel was a complete let down - no wonder so few people were staying there and virtually no one was eating there.
Despite repeated requests throughout the day - and repeated and untrue assurances that the work had been done - we had no hand towels and only a few sheets of loo paper, a telephone not even wired in and a broken lamp - until the evening. The phone and the lamp were never fixed. At the restaurant no one was eating in - we were the only guests at a hundred seat restaurant although there were a few people eating in the pizza type cafeteria. Noone would come to our room to collect our luggage and in the end we spotted a senior manager who had to carry it himself. This hotel is let down by low standards and exceptionally poor management.

Background: We are retired Americans who pursue an active lifestyle, appreciate functional and clean lodging with easy-in and easy-out access. We avoid grand hotels and approach chains with care.

Overall: Would not stay here again. There is big disconnect between the beauty of the common areas and grounds with the rooms. Comfort simply was not there.

Notable positives: Gorgeous grounds and common areas, good breakfast buffet

Notable negatives: Two twin beds with a 6 inch gap between them, non-operational items - lights and safe, confusing lighting controls, dated rooms, no optimally cleaned rooms, bugs in room, front desk did not answer phone, strange shower head, wifi nearly inoperable, bathroom nearly flooded.

The look of the hotel is stunning...but the rooms are in a mess.. like the hair dryer was coming out in different pieces.. the washroom handle door gets locked and comes out..when you have a closer look at the property, there is nothing grand about it.e lock of our room worked only when we checked in at 7pm. after that numerous calls to reception...it doesnt make any difference as the 8pm night shift had come and they have very limited resources.. No Duty Manager available at night at all and the staff doesnt even care to call them for major service issues... they are happy to refund the amount at 11 at night but cannot provide service.. A n option provided by supervisor eventually we went in THE ROOM at 1 am as there were no other liveable rooms available, they were not ready to give us physical keys to that room & the elctrnic key never worked...The night supervisor assured that manager will call at 9 am- as usual nobody did. Next day morning : breakfast is a 3 star standards. No Service, Very less Options & cold. Told the duty manager about the problems at 11am.. ..we faced at night & he was cold about it.. no action taken till 3 pm.. then called the manager and the executive manager - second in command... told him the whole story again and he was terrified and apologised.. His words" i have not heard this in my whole life, I apologise and will get back to you". told him that we got the lock fixed after everybody asking us what happened at 3 pm, when we were checking out for Trident... From October 26th till today - 19 Dec, no phone call, no email, no post... Have called them thrice in the past 2 months the executive manager never comes on phone, neither takes the call nor calls back... i dont know how much TIME he wants to get back...NEVER BOOK THIS HOTEL, NOT EVEN FOR FREE.... The owners of the property stay in US and there is nobody to take care.. Also to mention that while taking towels the guy was smoking bidis.. i seem it is OK with wyndham grand hospitality......

The property this hotel is on is stunning. If only the rooms were kept at the same standard. The hotel claims to be a 5 star hotel but after staying there it's safe to say it's nowhere near 5star. The bathroom is just disgusting! Management really needs to look into redoing the rooms deco which is rather tired and old.
I won't be returning to this hotel ever!!

I Had visited Wyndham Grand with my family and had booked an executive room.. The Hotel definitely is not a Five star Hotel.. Valet Parking was not available upon arrival.. Even during the evening when we returned from an outing there was no one at the valet parking counter.. I had to struggle to find a place to park..

The rooms show the signs of ageing.. they need to be redone.. My room had a view of the terrace.. which definitely was not pleasing to the eye..

In room dining to me seemed to be very overpriced.. my personal opinion.. since i have stayed in 4 other five star properties in Agra .. by far this was the costliest in room dining i have experienced so far

At the buffet breakfast we had to wait for tea for at least 15 minutes even after reminding to 3-4 staff.. everybody seemed to be just too busy

We travelled with family. Initial look of the property was amazing but we had a horrible experience at check-in. Imagine having to wait for about 45 minutes at the reception and show a sad face to your parents and children for not getting the rooms on time. I wanted to speak with their Manager and enquired about the same. To my surprise the Manager (Adnan) was standing right in front of me and did not even care to speak with me. Inspite of my questions, he did not speak a word! No one welcomed us (with a bare minimum smile) and the attitude was more like doing a favor by giving us rooms. This was followed by pathetic room service, nothing turned out on a timely basis. Clearly the hotel is short of staff. The restaurants are frightfully expensive with a simple dal makhani costing over INR 900/-. Having said this, the property is beautiful.
