“Beautiful place,Heaven...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

I had visited Avalanche and Upper Bhavani lake on 1st week of August 2013. Perfect place to get away from the busy world. The place is isolated and adventurous an awesome place. No artificial things its purely nature created world. Visitors please don't pollute the place my sincere request.

Thanks,
Shivakumar

“Day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

From Ooty you can take a day out to Avalanchi where you can pick up a forestry bus to take you through the forest and onto Bhavani Lake. Only two buses a day at about 1030 and 1300. Lovely views on trip of vegetable farms and tea estates. A full day though so take a packed lunch.

“beautipul and quite place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

upper bhavani is quite far away from ooty,u have to start early to reach there, and then come back.even most of the locals don't know about that place.this is a place for which u can say that the way to the destination is even beautiful than the destination itself. yes,the way to the lake is very beautiful, just out of this world, sometimes u feel ,u r not in india.but sometimes it feels creepy, bcoz nobody else was there,in between some villages were there, but other than that,u will feel for whom these roads are build for?seriously if something wrong goes there,u will b stuck there, with no help.and when we reached there finally, therer was a forest checkpost. there was no other tourists.the staff was drinking and was ready to cut a chicken ,to cook it. we were not sure ,and bit scared what if something goes wrong, bcoz it was just me,my husband and daughter, there.so its better to go in a big group, and also carry with u something to eat and drink,as u will not find anything on the way and back.

“A beautiful lake in a very serene location. A must see place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Forest department doing a great job in maintaining the place well. Private vehicle is allowed only till the forest check post. Tourist are then taken a 3 hour safari in a Tempo traveller for a tour around the Emarald and Avalanche area, all the way till the lake. This is a must see place.
