“Tasty food, Prime location!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

we have been here for a lunch last week. even though we reached the Rest. after the lunch session, Mr.Nazrul , the Property GM could give us the food what we wanted. we got a table in the Glass house, since it was late the place was not crowded.

the view was was so nice, the food as well . the portions were so huge, we just ordered for 2 portions each( it was enough for 4 of us).

Thanks Mr.Nazrul for the tasty food and great service !!!!

“Be like Kings and Queen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013 via mobile

A friend of mine suggested the place. Paid a visit. Its totally different from me and my wife expected.
"Its too good to be true"
Good side
Ambience is totally different:
Open air & glass wall restaurant are something you wont find in ooty

Service by "gentlemen", well mannered and they got good sense. Ask for their suggestions.

Food:
Good variety, put aside your calorie consciousness and just order. You wont mind that xtra calorie for the great taste.

Good music
Clean
Only negative thing I can find after visiting twice is that you wont get liquor from here.

Don't miss this place!!!
Take it from me.

“Expensive but worth it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

We had dinner at Earl's Secret twice while in Ooty a couple of days ago. While it is relatively expensive, it is really worth it. One has to understand that their costs would be higher because of the short tourist seasons in Ooty, the lovely but hard to reach location and small size of the place resulting in higher overheads. Although I did not ask, I think one of the reasons that they do not serve alcohol is that the excise licence would be too expensive given their low turnover.

The restaurant is spread over three rooms, two of which have working fireplaces. There is a lounge, also with a fire, and live music.(which was a bit loud). The decor is appealing - dark wood floors and wall panelling, comfortable upholstered sofas, nice old prints on the wall etc.

The tables were well laid with linen and good quality china and cutlery. Finally, and most importantly, the food was excellent.

The first time we had Chicken Boti Masala, Paneer Makhanwala, Dal with spinach and jeera raice. the chicken was good but not great but the paneer and dal were just delicious. It could be faulted for being too rich but neither was oily. The jeera rice was also good; probably the first time that we had jeera rice that was not oily. We tried the apple pie with whipped cream for desert- good but not outstanding.

The second time we had the Chicken lasooni kabab and reshmi kabab (our kids are unfortunately very averse to spice ) the dal makhni, palak paneer and the jeera rice gain. For dessert we had the Walnut brownie with ice cream. This time around everything was very good.
We were tempted by the continental food but it was not conducive to sharing and two of rou kids are poor eaters so we gave it a miss.
Service was good; attentive but unobtrusive.
Was it expensive? A bit. Was it worth it? Definitely. This does not extend to breakfast though - It is Rs.350/- a head which is extremely poor value.

“Hidden away!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

This restaurant is set in such a picturesque locale and bit hard to find ,very close to Monarch hotel ,but worth checking out. The staff is very friendly and service is great, the food quality is awesome and just the location is to die for. If you want to have a really cosy and heart warming food experience, do take the trouble.

“Poor quality food served”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Imagine you being served stale cheese in the mozzarella you ordered!!!

Imagine tasting garlic in your tea!!!

Imagine waiting 45 minutes for your main course order to be served and watching the foreigners sitting in the next table being served promptly!!!

These 2 experiences forced me not to eat here for the rest of my stay!!!

This place had some of the amazing food being served in the past but now...... it is just plain terrible

Eat at your own risk.....
