I am a regular guest of Madurai Residency since, 2001-2002 onwards. End of 2001, was my first visit, as a consultant, for a briefing session on AIDS study - Commnication Needs for APAC, Chennai and around ten to twelve of my office colleague (TNS - MNC Marketing Research Company) assembled in the mini conference hall and in fact it is really a reawarding experience for all of them! Since, I am staying there for the first time, it is really a enjoyable and satisfiying stay in this well built and well maintained Hotel, which is very near to Madurai Railway Station - almost half a km away. You can virtually walkdown to the hotel, provided you do not have heavy baggage! The complimentary breakfast is really a good idea and it is still continuing to-day also! I need to mention the roof top resturant, where we can have birds-eye view of Maudrai, including the famous Lord Meenakshi Temple. But here the evening service start only at 6.30 pm, which is a drawback for those who want to enjoy the view during earlier hours like, say around 4 pm or so....I will be failing in my dutiy, if I do not mention the cylindrical transparent lift in this hotel!
The reception is decorated aesthitically well with absorbing traditional art work and the food service ( I am a pure vegiee...) is really fine and tasty! I used to stay only in Non-A/C deluxe room and the room maitainennace and room service is really appreciable. But, since I used to take only hot water, often, I do have problem in getting it round the clock and this need to be set right. Also the hot water supply at bathroom is stopped at 9 am daily and this also need to be rectified and made it 24 hrs supply!
The reception staff are really co-operative, accomodative and also helpful in time of need!
The hotel is located very near to Periyar Bus Terminus and also Rly. Station and is well connected by all type of vehicular services round the clock! Ok, enjoy your stay and send your feedback.!....Since Seeing is Believing!
